Cant wait to see him make his debut for us in December, after being ousted from the side for months because Jose doesnt like the colour of his under armour in training.

What jose did was right, with Mkh and shaw. No reason for a dig at him.

Cant wait to see him make his debut for us in August, after being ousted from Real Madrid and slam two goals in the net at UEFA Super Cup and watch James, Valencia, Jesse, Pogba, Griezmann, and Fabinho salsa dance in front of Zidane and Perez.

let me fix that for you

The rumour is Euros. 50m

I see Real trying to use this as a swap for De Gea. If De Gea does leave and that's a big if at this stage, I hope we stand our ground and get money on top of that. 50 m euro is roughly 43 million quid, we'd be looking more for De Gea than that, esp in this super inflated market.

Caf has rated this signing as underwhelming.
Now I am pretty sure that if he signs, he will be a hit :p

As you pointed out United already got an abundance of players (Mkhi, Mata, Pogba) that can play the No. 10 role on a fairly high level, with one of them being the club's record signing. Other positions in the team need to be focused on in the upcoming transfer window, like a LB, DM, a CF to replace Ibrahimovic (or give Martial/Rashford a shot there) and a pacey winger or two that can play on either side. Lingard and Young are not the quality United needs on the wings. It wouldn't hurt to upgrade on Smalling/Jones as well.

Searching twitter a little yesterday I saw rumors of James being linked with a move to Bayern, saying Ancelotti wants him as his creator behind Lewandowski. Those date back to the middle of March or so. Soon after that the James to United story was all over social media with several english journalists now claiming United to not be interested. It's pure speculation but to me it looks like Bayern is playing hardball trying to pay the lowest fee possible, with no other club being truly interested which lead to Real offering James to United for their desired asking price while informing their mouth pieces of United's supposed interest to put pressure on Bayern.
And there's on more thing. Usually United wouln't need to react in such a case. Just declining the offer would be enough. The only reason for United to inform journos of them not being interested in James would be if they were in pursuit of another player for a similar position and they wanted to show him that he's definitely their only target which gets my hopes up for a Griezmann deal.

These type of posts are why I love this time of year. It's laughable but we all try and decipher what is going on with these deals and its the fun that gets us through the summer!

So Ducker is saying it's the agent drumming up interest in James.

I doubt this, as Mendes has a very good working relationship with Woodward as well as being Jose's agent.

I would usually be inclined to believe that agents are using our name but I doubt Mendes is.

James Ducker says this is nonsense and that we're not even interested in James. Says Madrid are desperate to sell so they're putting stories in the press.

This is the most logical situation to me, we keep being told the transfer makes sense because United are trying to land a superstar, but it makes no sense because he's not that marketable of a player. Maybe it's because I really don't want us to sign him but I can't see it happening.

In terms of marketing there's hardly anyone United could sign that would be as valuable as James.

So we have pre-agreements with 3490432047 players :)
Love it

"Let's pre-agree to disagree" :D

It seems like the times when Chelsea,PSG or City were flush with money and everyone was using them to raise their market value. One of the cons of everyone knowing you have a lot of money and are desperate to jump back to the elite

We could sign a ramdom player from anywhere in the world , and still sell his shirts at the same value. This is the plus of a global powerhouse like united.

That's just not true. James is one of the most popular players in world football, that's why he would sell a lot of shirts. Him and United would be match made in heaven for Woody. Not that any of that should be a priority, when we are signing someone.

But not for Mourinho.

Ballague now saying that while we've been offered him, we're pursuing other targets and that he's not our priority.

Whether he's regurgitating the info from Ducker etc, or whether his own sources have told him this, who knows.

Balague has been pushing the James to United line for weeks. Embarrassing.

He is the master of shite talk.

James Rodriguez is being "Gaitan'd" its also called being "Guarin'd". It is created by agents to get him a move away. I think we will go for him if we cant get Silva/griezmann/belotti etc as a last resort but obviously his agents want a deal being done soon to get him here hence the stories. They had me worried but i had trust on the info on other united fanzines.

I'm actually believing Balague story to some extent.

If we had priorities over a player like James in this role then the summer is going to be really great.

Follows Mata,Beckham and Chicharito on Instagram.. I'll take that as positive.

Was in two minds on this but warming to the idea more and more . He is a top player with his best years ahead of him .. And let's face it he unlikely to leave us for Real Madrid hopefully

Looking at the state of our passing in the final third today I'd take anyone with an ounce of talent.

Woody, sign him up!

About to say the same. Based on the state of our mid-table standard team, I'll take anyone. Just hope none of our targets are watching our recent displays.

Besides Griezmann, I cant think of anyone else that is available and would be above James in quality. Madrid's asking price may be prohibitive.

If we are getting any player from Madrid, I hope that is concluded before any deal on De Gea, so that we can shaft the 2x as much as they tried to do to us.

I am just hoping all deals are completed quickly before the preseason starts.

I would never call it an underwhelming signing in terms of quality, think he is a really good player. I WAS just underwhelmed of where he fits in, just like I would be with Griezman. Im almost starting to sway a bit to be honest though, if he is signed as an attacking midfielder beside Pogba.....we would have to sign a monster of a midfielder to play behind them though

After seeing our atrocious attack game after game this season, won't understand how anyone will refuse such an addition. We need any quality attacking player available.

After watching that shit heap last night I would welcome any creative player to the club with open arms. Someone who could complete a passs maybe ? Originally voted No for James, but thinking about it he would walk into our team I don't even know what I was thinking. How are we supposed to compete with teams with the 2 CMs as a young centre half in Tuanzebe and the least mobile man on the planet in Fellaini.

I think he's the perfect player to sit behind Rashford.

Rashford's pace is a massive concern for defenders, who naturally drop a few yards to compensate. James' long range shooting is probably his strongest asset, and he should then have the space to utilise this. James can also drag any DM marker wide and leave space for Pogba to shoot from range or play in the wide attackers/Rashford.

He could really suit our system, and he's excellent on the counter.

That just depends on the system Jose wants to play next season. If we sign the midfielder like you said, we would line up with a 433. Jose is insisting on a double pivot formation. James suits the #10 role there. Its clear that our attacking players have lost all cool and composure in front of goal. James would have thumped those chances which were handed over to Martial and Mata on the plate yesterday.

We lack a goalscoring midfielder, and its been years like that now. We should try to get quality ones for that role. He could be our hazard, coutinho, ozil or De bruyne. I would be delighted if he had the same kind of impact these players had on their respective teams in recent seasons.

I don't mind signing Rodriguez if we get to add Bernardo Silva beside him.

ST
AML - Rodriguez - AMR
If we did get those two, should Mkhitaryan be on the right with Silva on the left, or the other way around?

Also, Real Madrid supporters seem disappointed he's leaving. I've read several write about how they think he's the best #10. Warming to the idea of getting this guy if we have another wide player beside him. He needs movement to deliver those passes he's so good at.
