And 37m on Sane and 27m on G Jesus and 500k on Jadon Sancho.
Win some, lose some.

It's more likely that Txixi didn't have anything to do with the Sancho signing. Usually clubs have separate departments for youth and senior signings.

It looks like it's on. To say it will be announced Sunday seems like they have confidence in the deal, they could easily ride the story all summer if they wanted too and would look daft if nothing is mentioned this weekend.

Oh well we will see one way or another on Sunday. I won't lie the thought of James playing just behind Griezmann next season is pretty exciting if both deals go ahead.

Who is saying that it will be announced on Sunday?

Looks like it's an alternative to griezmann for the 10 position. I just hope he's not the only attacking player we sign as we need somebody with more pace/directness in wide areas.

Is that another one of your youngsters who won't break into the first team? :p
That's rather up to him, isn't it?
Work hard, live well and listen to the Coach and you'll have every chance.
Or you could do what Depay did and Martial and Shaw are in danger of doing.

I always thought he was a bit of an overrated fair-weather player. But I haven't seen enough of him to be sure.

My instinct is that he's not going to be the one who makes us significantly better than we already are.

Actually playing first team and national team football? Kid could do well to aspire to be them.

It will have passed through his inbox. He will have signed off on it and may well have appointed the guy who heads the Department you speak of.

Haha, it's brilliant - they want more money for a guy they want rid of, than they want to offer us for perhaps our best player?

We should accept nothing less than 60million from those toads.

He is in danger of getting played for first team by following Martial, Shaw, Depay lead?

I think it's fair to say the fee will be a lot less than the Madrid press are reporting.

No chance we pay 60m for a guy on their bench

Yeah that's working well for Tosin and Kelechi isn't it?

Is that what that Kelechi kid is doing ?
There was a thread about a year ago comparing Rashford to Iheanacho.
In it I stated that Kelechi would likely fail at City because his awareness and passing outside of the box was subpar.
He needs to go to another team and become a more complete player and this is what will most likely happen when he is shipped out this summer.
Anyhow, back to James.

Like I said, I haven't watched him in a while, but he was like that in the world cup.

What's he like as a 10 now then?

Slow, tactically inept and has a low workrate but absolute brilliant the closer he is to go goal. Good at set pieces, great cross, good passer in the final third and has a cannon of a shot.

With James being a Jorge Mendes client and the seemingly stronger rumours coming about over the last few days I am starting to think this may be true.

Aren't we trying to build a squad??
Don't worry so much about the ideal first 11.... The chances of everyone in form, injury free & unsuspended at the same time is very low!
This season Mata gets injured.... Lingard becomes first choice. I know for sure id rather James stepping in than Jese!!
I'd take him in a shot !!!
He's not leaving Madrid's bench to sit on our bench. If he comes I see him being an everpresent ala Pogba.

So long as this transfer has been approved by Jose, which most likely will be, I have no complaints about it. Jose is not one to shy away from dropping new signings if they do not fit into his plan, or if they are out of form. Just ask Mkhi and Bailly after his AFcon exertions.

Sure that if we get him, Jose already has a plan in mind. Also good to have more options to choose from, rather than what we have faced this season when injuries started piling up. Look at the top teams like Real and Bayern - they can still put out very competitive 'B' teams, and that is what I think we should slowly aspire towards. Getting James to take over Rooney's place in the team, while still going after Griezmann for the no.7 shirt and goal-scoring burden from missing Zlatan will be great. James is also no slouch in the goal-scoring department.

IF we get both James and Griezmann, it means we will have the World Cup and Euro Golden Boot winners on our team.

We will pay 60m euros for him and they will pay 60m euros for De Gea. Basically a swap without it being so.
I don't think this is true. If it were, it would be bundled together so both sides can claim they got the better deal.
