James McCarthy

No thanks. Nowhere near the level we should be looking at. Also a midfield of him and Schneiderlin is nowhere close to that of martinez and schweinsteiger.

When I saw this thread was up and running again I almost had a break down. I thought oh god not another midfielder. We have other pressing issues. But no it's OK we aren't in for him it's just someone saying they rate him.

Think he's a good player but to replace Carrick and Schweinsteiger we will need more. But thankfully midfield isn't an issue for us for the next few years.

I think LvG would go for a more playmaking type of CM to partner Schneiderlin, either moving Blind back into midfield and buying a CB, or going for someone in the Gundogan/Koke/Verratti mold.

Should have gotten Verratti for Di Maria this summer, or getting the first option for next year. Anything just to get him, would fit us and every top team.

neither us or anyone else was getting veratti..

Real madrid were interested, psg kindly told them to get lost or that they would be coming after Ronaldo instead...and that was it..interested ended...they did the same with marquinhos when barca wanted him...PSG dont sell their best players, even to the Spanish two

They would if the player wanted to leave. Problem is Verratti feels at home there with his child being born there and all that. So with him being happy there and PSG not interested in selling, obviously it is impossible. But i would be surprised if he still played there in a few years, with Barca and Real surely being interested and him possibly being open for a new challenge.

Marquinhos and Thiago Silva both wanted to go to Barca..if the player has a long term deal, PSG arent budging..at all..and thats a great attitude too..or you end up as someone's feeder club
