If looking at Sancho, Haaland, Kagawa, Mkhitaryan and Bellingham has taught me anything, it’s that we can’t compete with Borussia Dortmund when it comes to signing players, but once they’re at Dortmund they all want to come to us.

It's a good place to develop. They enter a sort of mutual deal, go there to develop, and leave in a few years for a bigger club with a massive fee going Dortmunds way.
Win for the young talents who get to play at the highest level and get CL experience and a partial win for Dortmund who get more money and a bigger name for themselves.

I would hope our transfer of Beeky would show we are capable of moving and securing a player at the drop of the hat. Clearly that player has been assessed and lined up before we moved. The same will be for alternatives to Sancho.
