Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

If there are any clubs which are financially stable, and can recover from losses during any situation - it would be us, Barca, Real and Bayern (Discounting PSG and City because their earning in disputed for obvious reasons). If these 4 clubs break-even, I would imagine that all other clubs in Europe would post huge losses. We're extremely privileged to be part of that group tbh.
Sure but that doesn’t mean we can sign 3 new world class players best summer.

Also Barcelona aren’t in the list of financially stable elite clubs anymore.

How are you comparing this? Woodward hasn’t spoken directly to the press and our manager refused to comment on transfer targets. Not exactly how Zorc is approaching this now is it.
What exactly Zorc is doing wrong from Dortmund perspective?
Doesn't want to sell player? Shame on him. Wants to sell him for best price? Shame on him again.

Expected far more Dortmund mouthpieces to have debunked this by now if it wasn't true.

They aren't going to sell him until they can blame him for the move. All of the reporting around the BVB side is setting it up to blame Sancho for when he makes a public call for the move.

I agree with you,
Covid 2nd wave seems inevitable and will last til full vaccine roll out which is all of next season without serious stadium income.
COVID-19 is certainly a big issue, but how do you justify one of the biggest clubs in the world spending less than Everton, Chelsea, Leeds, Spurs, and Newcastle (at par)? United should be able to able to tide over the economic crisis better than any club I listed, maybe bar Chelsea.

With United so much better at generating revenues compared with Liverpool, we had/have an opportunity to close the gap between us and those buggers and be able to mount an actual title challenge in 2021/22. Where is our ambition?

P.S. And please don't even mention about Sancho here.

From Ruhr Nachrichten journo (Dortmund's mouthpiece)

it's up to Sancho. The Ducker article suggests Sancho is now pushing the move, but it will likely be up to Sancho to ask for BVB to listen to the offer.

However, to believe this Dortmund reporter is just a waste of time. When our club literally briefs to the press "Hey we have a deal with the player and we want to sign him" a month after some BS deadline is not stupidity on behalf of MUFC. They obviously know a deal is possible or we would not have heard anything. MUFC briefing the journo's if they know absolutely no deal with BVB is possible is not even something woodward would be stupid enough to do.

Looking at the recruitment being completed for the Man Utd Women’s team, is there a chance to change them to replace Teflon Ed and Judge, would be a massive improvement

All this talk of ‘ambition’ and were are richest club in the world’ is ignorant of the financial facts. Study the club financials and you’ll see. It’s widely available and been discussed multiple times in this thread.

one clue is that our overheads is far far higher than the clubs you mention.

We might have just enough to buy Sancho if BVB agree to a multi year fee payment schedule. very little cash reserves left after that. I can’t see how we create an extra £120m next season to fund future transfers. You can scream ambition as much as you like but that won’t change that.

this is not a pro glazer post: I can’t stand them. But that doesn’t change our financial position.

Brooks is never worth 40m so no that's not it
So you think we will be getting a player for the 'right' price for a position of desperate need and who could also take us a level above?

Why not name a few to start with? Its easy to say 'oh we can get someone in for 30m-40m' but who do you think is the best fit for this team? What is the trick coaches and staff at Carrington are missing?

Merry Sancho day everyone. Today is a day indeed.

Bournemouth are basically having a fire sale, can you imagine paying 40 million for Brooks? He's like 15 mill...MAX in the COVID market + relegation market.
That's the price that was quoted. We will be quoted over inflated prices for players because everyone knows we are not a position of strength for the RW. Just like Maguire for CB last year.

They own this club, it's their right to do whatever they want with their money.
Then dont discuss anything and just watch whatever shows up.

Then stop discussing anything about their club and just see what is served. Have a read on how they owned the club and have been milking and when money is needed dont quote the climate but pocketing never stops. The club always made money and they always took out.

I'll happily concede a deal may not happen. However, "we did not meet the deadline and no deal is possible", but we decided to brief all the english press a month later that we have a deal with Sancho......because?

The club gains nothing by making the player agreement briefing a month later if the club knows no deal is possible. So what was the reason for it?

My fulltime job is not a scout at Carrington. But as a fan I've noticed Sane' move for 45m, Gnabry move for 22m, Coman move for 23m, Salah move for 46m, Bernardo Silva move for 55m, Ferran Torres move for 25m. You don't necessarily have to pay 120m to "find" talent, there's been plenty of talent that have changed teams for a fraction of that.

We should just save the money and give Lingard an opportunity on the wing.

Who are you to tell me to stop posting? Are you a judge? Is this a court? This is a forum and we are all free to discuss. My point is the Glazers are the owner of this club and it's within their right to do whatever they want with their investment. It's also within their right if they decide not to splurge 120 million euro on a commodity. It's easy to talk when this is not your money. Man Utd is a global listed corporation, an entity with shareholders to account to. You don't just go out and spend over 100 million euros just because of a group of naive and childish fans moaning for the next new shiny toy.

Spot on. He is not worth 120m and I certainly don't blame the club for not being willing to pay that price. This has got, if not flop, then massively underwhelming written all over it.

we will barely break even next season due to Covid losses. Please show me your Financial thinking that makes it so.

This club has been operating on an incredible amount of debt since the Glazers came in. They purchased us with debt. Do you honestly think they give a shite about potential further debt, they probably have no intention of reducing anytime soon? How have they done addressing that debt since coming in, if so?

I agree that they won't spend huge, but it ain't because of Covid alone. They won't spend big money because they don't give a feck about being competitive and are much more inclined to keep milking the club with dividend payouts etc. You got teams like Napoli spending 70m on a single player. Covid is just an easy excuse out for them, a valid one too, might I add. Under any other circumstances, I would be all for us being conservative due to the pandemic, but let's not start pretending that it's the reason why we can't take that next step during these times.

So during the season, are people going to blame Ole for this? Much in life is smoke and mirrors. If you take everything at face value, you're going to become a tad bi polar. People should relax a bit. If it happens? It was never going to happen in a week. So what do we know? The messages are mixed. Jumbled. A mess. Are we any further down the line? It's people that feed these bs merchants because you fall for it. It's people that create this thread; that is all over the place and no one knows what's going on. But people will be mugs, and in a few months blame Ole. Carry on.
