Dharmesh Sheth makes a good point on Sky Sports Transfer show.

He says Utd need to put an official bid in and then Sancho would need to request a transfer. That's the only way Dortmund would accept the bid as they would be able to say to the fans that they wanted to keep Sancho but he requested a transfer to leave.

I've got a feeling if we put the bid in, Sancho will ask to leave. He's already apparently stepped in to resolve the agent fee issues.

Sad, gullible muppets. It is clear what is happening here:

United have briefed the UK press about Dortmund now being the only obstacle for a deal. This means that once a deal is not reached, United can lay all of the blame on Dortmund's "unreasonable" demands, and come out of a failed transfer looking like angels.

Our disappointment will be greater as a result. I hope I'm wrong.

Why? They want to keep the player so if any clubs want him they can ask for whatever they want.
We are willing to pay the fee, the player wants to come. Asking for that fee upfront is taking the piss. 60-80 upfront with the remainder paid through installments over two years is more than sensible considering how covid continues to affect the clubs.

After this is done Borrusia Dortmund need to have a hard look at themselves, they certainly haven't covered themselves in glory. Also, asking for the full whack this year of all years is unacceptable.
To be fair they have every right to ask for full whack regardless of Covid. They don't want to sell him, so they certainly wouldn't give a discount.

If someone came in for Greenwood right now, we wouldn't be offering a discount price either as we don't want to sell him.

I think Sancho needs to push this a little at this stage
We’ll bid before their first game, he doesn’t play due to not being in the right frame of mind and the price gets reduced by 15m. Dortmund spin against Sancho saying he gave them no option when secretly they’re happy to take the cash as they knew he was leaving all along and we get to brief we didn’t overpay despite spending 90m on a 20 year old during a pandemic. Everybody wins.

Finally some good news! I'm loving the confidence around here but why are people so sure we'll agree a fee? The personal terms and the transfer fee are completely different deals. People saying we wouldn't have gone through the trouble of negotiating with Sancho unless we were confident of agreeing a deal with Dortmund? Based on what? It's a hurdle race, the fact we successfuly passed the first one has no indication on the next.
Of course they are different. But it's much easier to negotiate with the in knowing that the player is willing to join.

It's not less though, its wanting it upfront instead of a more sensible payment structure.

They're under no obligation to do that either though from what we've read they may be ok with it being paid in instalments

They are well within their rights to ask for it.

Or maybe he has been right all along and this was 'resolved' on the understanding that things would be officially agreed after the international games therefore the only thing that hadn't been verbally agreed would have been the Dortmund fee.

Maybe........ Is that what you believe? I don't but if you do then good for you.

Our UK journalists have just been briefed by the club it seems.

Good news is that we might be getting him so let's rejoice.

He’s a Dortmund player. They can stick their fingers in their ears and hum the chorus to 99 Luftballoons if they want to.

There is no universal value. If so, set by who?

Value is set by the buyer and the seller. If the price is higher than the value for the seller they’ll sell. If the price is lower than the value for the buyer they’ll buy.

We'll probably get a German side of this later to counter the UK press, probably won't be a positive. How these transfers always go. He won't be sold and all that.
Big Bozz is going to come out and say something about deadlines or prices being set in stone and all the Bundesliga/German fans will swarm this thread with some extremely unpredictable but just as equally witty one-liners.

I know transfers fall apart easily

But surely this is inevitable?

Why would the agent and United have spent 2 months negotiating personal terms if the deal doesn’t go through anyway?

Agent/player will obviously push the sale & United and the agent must be confident that a deal will be reached with Dortmund

I think that's exactly what is going to happen.

It might have been already been discussed. However, it's a fast-moving thread and I'll have missed the posts. How is this a new revelation? Romano said a few million views back personal terms and agents fees had already been agreed and it was not an issue.

Nobody believed him essentially. We're probably make an official bid now, Sancho will have to put in a transfer request I reckon.

So many apologists for Dortmund here, it is sickening. Yeah, we all know they are within their rights to demand all their money upfront. But it's not how it is done among top clubs. When big payments are involved, all clubs pay in instalments. Dortmund have every right here to resort to extortion, but when the clubs and the player are agreed on the transfer, exercising your right is not the gentlemanly thing to do.

All the uk press going with the story at the same time is very telling, we're clearly briefing and confident we’re close now.

Think the thing here is that we've obviously briefed it, and it's in a positive direction relative to the last one.

It's a brief from United, all journalists at the same time released the information.

Romano yesterday said he will 'explicate more' meaning he couldn't say anything aka a possible NDA (non disclosure agreement).

The BBC and SkySports have also reported it and they usually only report things they are told by the club themselves.

This is a brief, it's not just a solitary source sticking their neck out.

It's every journalist at every major news outlet at the same time.

We briefed everyone that wasn’t the case. Now we’re briefing everyone we’ve agreed terms and it’s no longer an issue. People are assuming this means we’re now entering the end game. If this deal wasn’t happening we wouldn’t be insinuating it’s still going ahead. We’d have briefed long ago it was over.

The big positive is that all the English press have been briefed by Utd that agent fees and personal terms have been agreed.

The fact that Utd have briefed this suggests they are confident of getting a deal done. And the next step is an official bid. Utd would not brief the terms were sorted as that would have been their get out excuse for the deal to collapse.

I haven't been in this thread for two weeks. I feel like I should get out of it immediately and come back again in another two weeks. When it's all done.
Come in 10 minutes. We’ll have 10 more pages for you.

It seems to me they've both have been right, to an extent.

We knew Sancho wanted to come so it seemed odd that his team would be causing an issue. This is what the British press were pushing though.
British Press did however 'know' that there wasn't at the time a concrete agreement(now we know why) with Sancho's team. I believe UTD knew this.
Therefore the only thing that has ever prevented this transfer is the fee to Dortmund, as per Rom.

Guys, we need pages here! pages! we have a few days to reach 1000.

Where are our plane-finders?

Sancho won't be back in Dortmund now, he won't show up for training, this is over.

Is there a breakthrough because Sancho played more than 11 games with England and his agents can take a sum of money?

Is this your considered opinion? Would you bet on this outcome?

Can you imagine if Jadon Sancho reads Redcafe? At the end of the day he’s a young kid who plays computer games and the rest of the things we all do!

There must be some Utd players who come on here! Imagine if they even post undercover haha.

You are like clockwork.

When can we expect vilification of Sancho to start from Watzke and gang?
