It was always going to be a lengthy and arduous process as it's likely going to be the most expensive transfer in Premier League history up to this point so there's a whole lot of moving parts involved.

At least half of that “agent fee” will go back to Sancho himself, if not more. That’s how it works
The agent fees will also be for the transfer negotiations between United and Dortmund. Dortmund have used two intermediaries to start off negotiations with us, one of them being Sancho's agent.
Surely we run the risk of alienating the player with these constant leaks about how greedy him and his agent are? We've been leaking this stance for weeks now.

We've never not been shy to dismiss transfer speculation previously and this is arguably the biggest transfer we've been involved with since Pogba and other than Pogba, I can't think of a bigger transfer we've been involved in, in recent memory.
It's very rare for big transfers to be concluded quickly, not unless they involved release clauses at least. Look at Pogba, look at Berbatov, etc. And this is happening in a Covid economy as well.
It would be embarrassing beyond belief if after all this we didn't get him, or even make a concerted effort to get him. That sort of reputational damage would damage the club and ruin Ed, maybe even having a terminal impact on his job prospects.

Agents are professional. And this is all part of the game. Raiola has been called worse. Much, much worse by pretty much every club he dealt with. As long as they get paid they won't care.

Which is something that once again has never been backed by any kind of journalist in Germany and would be unprecedented in how Borussia Dortmund operates in terms of selling players.
The one name that did circulate in this matter in the beginning of August has been Marco Lichtsteiner, which was actually believable. Lichtsteiner has worked for Dortmund in the past as negotiator, has a positive relationship with both DoF Zorc and CEO Watzke and is most importantly not a player agent, but a negotiator that specialises on acting as a link between clubs. Lichtsteiner would be there to speak on behalf of Dortmund and only Dortmund and act as represantive with a certain degree of authority from the club.
Obasi on the other hand is Sanchos personal agent and acts on his behalf and his alone. Personal agents have never been given any kind of power by Dortmund to actually negotiate for them when it comes to selling players (with good reasons as interests of the club don´t need to align completely with the ones of the player) and until I actually see some reliable people reporting this I won´t believe that this has changed.
If Obasi was part of the negotiations, then it were the ones between player and club for personal terms (which if the recent reports hold any merit have not been agreed as formerly reported) and not the clubs themselves.
I mean, it can't be easy supporting a club which is only good at supplying talent to other clubs who actually have ambitions. Losing your best players every window, knowing that the only market where they can shop is the one called bargain bin.

Thanks for offering more of the info. In that case, I guess the real issue could come with Obasi rather than Lichtsteiner (unless Dortmund want us to pay for him as well for whatever reason).

The consensus is that there's no problem between United and BVB regarding the transfer fee. The issue seems to be unrelated to the transfer but rather what the agent is demanding which is the stumbling block. So it makes sense that BVB are relaxed about the matter because the issue is out of their hands currently.
I thought you said BVB doesnt use intermediaries?

Which once again falls in line with what a lot of people have been saying.
1. There was never any "Deadline" fact that we are still in talks with Sancho`s camp which you`d think we`re doing with Dortmund`s blessing tells you everything
2. They were never going to sell for anything below their valuation but once it`s matched it simply won`t be rejected and the transfer will happen
