She can have my shirt all day long.
I don’t understand where all of this talk about instalments has come from? Haven’t most deals in the whole of football been done in instalments? I was under the impression things are rarely done up front which is why when they are, see Maguire/Ronaldo etc, then it gets mentioned.
This will get a few bites. If the Saudis bought us from the Glazers this deal wouldn’t be an issue. Hope they still do now that the Newcastle deal fell through.
Not sure if you're being serious or just WUMing but I do know fans are starved for winning. Even with that said, I'd have to seriously rethink my support if we were bought by the Saudi's and reduced to being a glorified PR machine for them ala PSG or City. The Glazers have their faults and can be bad at times for sure but they're nowhere near murderous and medieval regime bad. We're a proud club in world football with a rich history, we're much better than thatIf the Saudis bought us from the Glazers this deal wouldn’t be an issue. Hope they still do now that the Newcastle deal fell through.
It would be more pleasant than rehashing the story of Fellaini for a second day in a row. This will get a few bites.
Calm before the inevitable storm.
If Utd were given the same views internally, they wouldn’t be sat at the negotiating table right now. Lichtenstenier is an agent that Dortmund appointed, not Utd. If there was no chance of a transfer, don’t you think Dortmund would have told their agent to pull out of negotiations? It wouldn’t make sense for him to continue discussions.
Dortmund have said he’s staying to show their intent on getting the full price they are asking for. If the price gets met, Sancho will move.
Can't just hand over £120m, it rarely happens. Clubs have been paying instalments for years.
I'd prefer to not be owned by a feudal monarchy that doesn't respect human rights and executes people in their embassy's.If the Saudis bought us from the Glazers this deal wouldn’t be an issue. Hope they still do now that the Newcastle deal fell through.
There’s a distinction between instalments and add-ons dependent on certain conditions/achievements.

I suspect United don't think we should be paying that much for any player in the current climate.
And at which point did I say they aren’t?
The girl made a joke. The poster I quoted stated instalments are common place in football, but the joke isn’t about instalments, hence the distinction, nor is it about United wanting to do something that isn’t common place. At least the way I interpreted it.
And I’m guessing that’s what the joke she made is rooted in?
It's not. It's a false equivalence.That’s fecking brilliant
I would prefer not to be owned by a family who actively try to milk sports franchises of all their worth. Tampa Bay Buccaneers are by far the best reference point for this club. Convinced the city to build them a brand spanking new stadium. Won the superb owl (lets see who get it) then spent the next decade with a losing record and were being warned by the league for paying below the minimum wage cap.I'd prefer to not be owned by a feudal monarchy that doesn't respect human rights and executes people in their embassy's.
Not a very good joke given that's how most deals are structured. Especially bigger ones. And at which point did I say they aren’t?

I'm not going to blindly support the Glazer's. They aren't ideal owners. But, I'll take them over corrupt oligarchs and governments that ignore human rights and exploit there migrant work force to appalling levels. I'd add, they treat United differently than they treat the Buccaneers. They've rarely cheaper out on us to some insane level, except possibly after the Ronaldo sale.I would prefer not to be owned by a family who actively try to milk sports franchises of all their worth. I'd still prefer them over the Saudis though
You might as well ask your neighbourHas anyone asked Romano about agents' fees and if they are proving a huge stumbling block?
Patrici is in London trying to find buyers for Douglas Costa and Bernadeshi, there's your alternatives.
I just did, he said I should feck off.You might as well ask your neighbour
See you tomorrowLooks like nothing will happen today. Clubs and agents don’t work on weekends. See you again next week, lads
So after following this whole saga more often and frequently than is healthy for a human, ill give you a summary of where we’re at according to reports.
- Dortmund are still adamant that they want 120m euros or else he stays. They are still playing hard ball that he’s no longer leaving. This has been taken as a stance that you either pay what we’re asking for or he stays. I think it’s pretty accepted that they are serious and are unlikely to move much on the price.
- Utd are still in negotiations and still trying to do a deal for Sancho but are reluctant to pay the asking price and want to negotiate the price and structure. There has also been frustration that they are unable to negotiate directly with Dortmund are having to do so through the agent Lichtensteiner. Utd are probably reluctant to go through him because there will naturally be further fees that this middle man will be due which will come down to another battle of who and how much is paid to this guy.
- The general consensus is that Sancho wants to come and that personal terms won’t really be a big obstacle contrary to recent reports. However he’s not going to agitate for a move and is happy to move if an offer comes in that Dortmund are happy with.
- The recent addition is that the only thing holding up the deal now is Joel Glazers reluctance to sanction that amount of money for the transfer. Apparently ole, Woodward and the senior leadership team are in agreement that the player is worth the investment. Now this could be a genuine obstacle or it could be another neogitation tactic by united to make it appear they may not follow through with a big money offer if Dortmund don’t reduce their demands. There’s also reports that the middle agents fees are excessive which Utd aren’t willing to pay.
ultimately, it’s going to come down to whether the Glazers are happy to sanction the deal. Everyone else in the club is happy for the transfer to take place and they understand he would be well worth the investment.
Of course this is all based on reports that have come out and myself trying to read between the lines. There’s definitely still a strong possibility of the transfer taking place. If there wasn’t then negotiations would have ended long ago.
Personally I’m still of the opinion that the transfer will eventually take place and that we won’t manage to negotiate down on the price much if any at all. Similar to how Macguire and Bruno negotiations took place.
There were similar reports around the Bruno deal where Joel was apparently reluctant to sign it off.
I do think it will happen but may drag out for another few weeks as the Glazers will do everything in their power to drive the price down as it is still at the starting price from what we know.
Can we please stop using press reports as facts. We don't know if they are sitting on the negotiating table right now, if Lichtensteiner is the agent Dortmund appointed or even if the 120m asking price is correct. We know very little what's going on right now and believing otherwise is being naive.
That’s a more honest response than you’ll get from Journo’s budI just did, he said I should feck off.
These are real people who have said that and not once but multiple times in the strongest terms. You know normal people don't want to lie and mislead their fanbase like that just to bluff via the media. I mean it's a completely stupid strategy with big negative consequences. If you were in their shoes would you do that? I wouldn't.
