No, I meant that he was literally telling the manager who to play in the match day XI. Think it was LVG or Mourinho got a dressing down for not picking Martial. Personally don’t think the board should be telling the manager who plays, but maybe that’s just me.

As I said in a previous post (I posted it here for you to read if interested) there's more to it then the transfer's complexity. But that's not the point. United is fort knox. Carrington is a fortress that very few can go and visit and everything inside there is done in so much secrecy that even the class of 92 struggle to know what we're up to. I know because I know people who know them personally and they don't have a clue (even though they buddies with Ole) what is going on in there. So really, I can't understand how we as fans can give credibility to this 26 something year old Italian journalist who is 'specialised in transfers'

Romano might be top notch with Italian clubs who have a different approach to football then we have and he might be fed propaganda from our/other clubs but I very much doubt he's got a clue what's going inside OT.

These are football people who had worked with United and know about us more then you and me.

Why is it so hard to spend a few minutes and read our latest Q3 report? It’s all there in black and white. When you’re on it you can also read our latest annual report. Actually it’s educating and will give you some sort of understanding about our finances. But in order to simplify I can give you the short answer.

Manchester United can’t afford to spend €120m in this transfer window without major player sales.

In the end of Mars 2020 (Q3) our cash reserves was £90m. With Borussia Dortmund’s latest financial statement in mind then we can probably predict similar losses in our fiscal year end in June 2020.

So by all accounts we can probably expect a 50% drop in our cash reserves when Q4 is published. That will mean that MUFC probably have a transfer budget in the region of £50m excluding player sales, probably less.

Our match day revenue will take a £5m loss in every home game without spectators. We will be without incomes from our 2020 pre season tour. We have to rebate somewhere close to £20m in broadcasting revenues. Just to mention some of our decreasing revenues in season 2020/21.

Our revolving credit of £140m is to secure that the club can afford all these upcoming losses, so we can pay all of our daily expenses including wages a s o. We maybe maybe can use a fraction of this credit in transfer money, but probably not. Too risky in this financial climate. Reports are that we've only been in negotiations with Leverkusen since last week. Obviously been linked a lot longer than that but its different from making contact with selling club and negotiating/activating release clause.

Yeah I would be devastated with that because Sancho is perfect for us to immediately improve the starting 11, not sure Grealish even get's into our team when everybody is fit - certainly not ahead of Bruno.

Yep..

My view has been that united are looking to sell to bring Sancho in. Little playing time for some is nudging or even pushing them towards the door.

Grealish is PL proven and has better workrate than Sancho though. So he would probably fit in as well as Sancho.

I know Woodward gets his fair share of abuse (and rightly so at times) but I think Joel Glazer has probably had a bigger impact in delaying transfers and failing to properly back managers than Woodward.

Also I have a mortgage and it’s tough, thought I should let everyone know. I suggest the title thread be changed to “Jadon Sancho - Mortgaging the future”

He can play in place of Bruno but more importantly on the left as we have seen that Rashford's form can be very bad sometimes.

The emphasis on ALL acknowledges that they certainly have been greedy whilst at the club, but that doesn't seem the case here.

Sancho probably the better fit for RW spot since he’s an natural RW. But Grealish is right footed and can probably do a job in all offensive midfield positions. And it’s not like Rashford is shining on the LW atm. Would be healthy for M M M to all fight for their spot. Grealish + M M M rotation wouldn’t be too bad imo.

Granted that Covid is going to have a big impact on finances.

You have to note that TV rights money in PL and La Liga is calculated differently, with Valencia and many other clubs already suffering pre covid.

Them putting it down to Covid, does not mean that is the only reason.
