I think Smalling was £15m with £2n add ons. Lingard will probably be around £20m, Rojo around £7m. Jones around £5m and Dalot around £25m. Wages saved on that lot would be huge and maybe restructuring the wage budget would give us more spending?

Sell De Gea, relieve the club of his 6 year £117,000,000 contract, buy Sancho ...two birds with one stone

:wenger:

Ahhhh. What a relief. Love you guys. There are less and less of us as the days go by.

We are definitely signing him, I believe, but the thread is moving so fast now that I'd rather just check it a few times a day, often leaping over 5-10pages so I don't spend all day here. At least until signs are that it's closer to the end.

I still think the next League game he plays will be in a united Jersey

The army remains strong. Incredible scenes on this Thursday night.

Can anyone tell me why our board gets criticised so much and there is so much pessimism over the biggest deal of the summer when -

Liverpool still haven't signed Thiago.
Chelski still haven't signed Havertz.

Both much easier deals to complete than Sancho.

Because Bayern is still playing and Leverkusen was until two days ago. Dortmund has been on vacation for 6 weeks.

Cause there are a lot of younger posters on here and/or people who don't have any inkling of what it takes for a transfer of this magnitude.

Take for example when it was reported lately that United was never told directly that there was an actual deadline of the 10th, several were saying that it was so widely reported in the media that we should have known.

I know that all sides use media as part of a negotiation strategy, and PR-spins to best position themselves, but at the core of it all that matters is what is said between the clubs directly. They may have touted a deadline to make us nervous, and it worked on several on here, but if the club was never told directly there is no reason for them to take it seriously.

United is also still playing :D

I'm expecting actual developements, positive or negative, once we finish our season officially after the Europa campaign

From what's been reported to the sources close to the club, it seems like he's our no.1 target this summer so I won't believe it's dead or over until it's reported that we've walked away from any and all talks this summer.

Until then I do believe we'll end up coughing up the full amount or near what they're asking as we'll be much better off for it next season irregardless of the fee and Ole has earned the right to make a trademark signing after the strong finish to the season along with his early success in the market so far

every summer there are highs and lows of transfer Cycles . Ed is useless and then he is amazing . the board don't back the team and then We are over spending , Posters can't agree whether a player is worth the money or all that good and there is always the flavours of the summer this years flavours have a very definite Bundasliga flavour Sancho , Upa and Havertz . it is all part of the fun and Rollercoaster ride . Check in & enjoy and take none of it too seriously.

Its the second United mouthpiece in a couple of days to say that while United are trying to get the price down, they must be prepared to pay the full price, and now for another reason then what Simon Stone said.

They are doing a PR campaign for Woodward explaining why he cant get the price reduced and therfore have to pay the full price, but he at least tried.

Ofcourse it still looks bad because he could have just paid it on day one, but thats just because Dortmund needs to get an replacement.
People are reading too much into it.

He does raise some decent points at times.

Logs off redcafe.

I just don’t know if we’d announce the signing until Europa is done for us.... I think we’re holding out to see if we get the prize money for winning EL... although it weakens our position because Dortmund would know we have more money.

maybe up until that point we’re trying to get them to agree to under 120. If they agree great... if not and we win EL we have the extra $$ to throw 120 at them and call it good

Think its just around 8m euros for winning the cup.

I say just, it's still something I guess.

Well ok... maybe don’t care in EL money but I think they wouldn’t distract the squad with any incomings until were done playing..

But Chelsea have already wrapped up Ziyech and Werner though.

Our board gets criticized so much because we struggle to complete any signing every window, take too long to do any of them, and never do all that's needed and are always playing catch up basically. Mourinho wanted Maguire in 2018, we bought him in 2019 just before the deadline basically. We were rumored with Bruno Fernandes for ages and it was obvious we needed a creative midfielder, we sign him just before the deadline in the January window. We've been after Sancho for years, and for 6 months it's felt inevitable that we would get him/try to get him. You get the feeling that with us that we don't do any form of discussions or negotiations before the actual transfer window opens, which is just plain weird. You mention Chelsea not signing Havertz... but they already completed Werner and Ziyech before the summer window even began. Yes some deals are harder than others, yet every single one of ours basically drags on until close to the deadline before we end up paying up basically what the price was from the start. Either pay up or move on to the next option. Delaying just means you miss out on other targets (like we did with Ferran Torres already), gives yourself less time to get other targets and probably leaves it as an all or nothing scenario, pisses off all parties involved, and fecks over the coaching team. We could've signed Bruno last summer, and we would've been in a far better position for the season. Or Maguire not having any pre season. Every summer we only partially fix the issues we have, meaning new issues pop up during the year so you again have more and more to do and we never get a "complete" side. That's how our transfer windows have gone each and every summer since Sir Alex retired.

Wouldn’t know about that but it makes for uncomfortable viewing.
He could be on antidepressants. He had some bad experiences in his life. Problems with depression, alcoholism losing his first wife, so I don’t hold it against him. But yeah he’s a bit off obviously.

Listening to this Romano fella when they interview him : he reminds me of when you see these medium people on the tv .. It’s like he’s giving you little bits of stuff you know or think you should know all the while giving you a bit of hope when he says something you want to hear.

I’m not trying to knock the bloke though, and I’m not saying he’s full of shite as you’d like to think he does have some connections somewhere. I’d never heard of him before this sancho thing so not too sure how accurate he’s been in the past.

You guys claiming its still on because sancho apparently hasnt categorically said hes staying at dortmund. Apparently that means he wants to come to us?

Get real boys. His statement pretty much seals it that he has absolutely no issues staying and is quite looking forward to it. This deal is off

The rest of his team have come out saying how happy they are that he's staying he could do the same. Yet... Nothing
Exactly, not even a generic 'I have a contract at BVB'.
Sancho's reluctance to publically squash the rumours continues to give me hope.

He wants the move for sure.
He very clearly wants the move but I think he has too much respect for Dortmund to come out and make things difficult for them and probably rightly so
:boring::boring::boring:
This is rawk stuff. Come off it!

How is it RAWK? He's being asked to put the rumours to bed, but so far is insisting to keep his cards close to his chest as his preference is clearly to join us.

Im of the opinion that he would be fine staying at Dortmund another year, but he would prefer to join us.

What will stop this transfer from happening is whether or not the club can pay dortmund what they want, not if Sancho wants to come. You don't agree terms with a team, supposedly yell them you're on the way out and refuse to put the rumours to bed if you're completely committed to your club.

He's beinf a professional, im on the side of him staying, but it for sure will not be because he didn't want to join us
