Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Why are all the Dortmund players talking about this?

Is it me or is it all a bit weird from Dortmund. Very small time stuff and I don't understand why they are bothering. Makes them look daft.

I mentioned earlier United are preparing for a European semi final and Dortmund are playing silly beggars in the media and getting all of their players involved in the circus.

I'm calling it....

Wednesday 12/08/2020

Ole has set up a WWE style production centre in the hotel the United are squad are staying throughout the Europa League. Ole struts up to a table in the centre of the room to Viinie Mac's 'No Chance in Hell' song with a swagger worthy of the man.

He sits down, and declares United are on the path to greatness, and he is building something special. The first step, is getting one of our main men onto a new contract...

Cue 'Can You Smeeeeeeeell' blaring out, and Pogba making his way to the table to join Ole. A contract is on the table, and Pogba then signs his extension making it official. Before anyone can say a word....

Glass Breaking sound effect and Stone Cold's theme blaring. Jadon Sancho struts to the table, signs an additional contract that is present, hugs both Pogba and Ole, then stunners them both, someone chucks him a United jersey, he puts that on, and leaves.

End transmission.

Is Woodward really United's chief negotiator? You'd think a CEO would hire a specialist to take care of that...? (Sorry if this has been discussed a million times before, but I am confused by all the comments about Woodward's direct involvement in every detail of this saga.)

I think Woodward was in charge of all negotiations until about 4 years ago, then delegated transfer negotiations and contract renewals to Matt Judge. It's hard to know exactly how much involvement Woodward still has, but its been indicated that he's just there to sign off or veto the transfers now

Weird isn't it, they're making the transfer so public, it should be seen as expectation that he will stay.

Hoeneß' words of them being a feeder club have hit them hard. Desperately trying to prove otherwise.

The conspiracy in me reckon Dortmund has specifically asked the media to include questions about Sancho’s future when they are interviewing their players and they will all paint a positive light on him. I’m surprised Haaland abided by that though. Thought he would have said don’t know don’t care

And even if he does/is staying why are they making such a fuss? It just highlights their standing. Little man syndrome we call it in the UK.

For what it's worth i don't mind the club and think they should be paid what the player is worth. That's about £100m. They deserve the profit and have really developed him. That said they sure do have some kind of complex going on as a club and it seems Bayern's comments have really got under their skin and they are doing as much posturing as possible. With Sancho though it's daft as everyone knows he will return to England at some point and that Dortmund won't have him for much longer.

Irony being in doing so they highlight what was said as being totally accurate. They'd look more powerful if they simply got on with things and kept their business to themselves.

There seems to be a slagging match going on via the media between the two clubs. I wish they just banged their heads together and sat down in a room and fleshed it out in a few hours.
Dortmund don't seem to want to, for some reason.

I don't think he'd lose too much and be painted as a mercenary if he handed one in. Just say he's been there 2 years, he feels homesick, wants to go home, he's very grateful to Dortmund, he likes the city, the fans etc. I'm sure his agent can write a statement from him that would minimise any damage.
I think the real question is does he want to come to Utd badly enough to do it.

We used to call this kind of antics cnutish. Homesick? I mean. Come on. You want the move, just admit it behind closed door, he's english not Argentinian
