Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

He is absolutely perfect for us. However I now have my doubts about whether we can pull this one off. It would take a monster fee and we don't even have CL fee to offer. The positivity surrounding the club has also taken a dip do I'm not sure we're all that enticing right now for an elite talent. Let's just hope we don't have competition as rich as us, and that he willing to move.

Moving from Dortmund to United is an upgrade to a new level. Not being disrespectful to Dortmund but United is a bigger club, offer more money & EPL is a more challenging league than bundles Liga. On top of it, he’s English who might be thinking to go back to his home country and play in EPL.

Whether he will choose us over Chelsea might be different story, but knowing Chelsea just signed Pulisic then we are likely beat them in race for Sancho.

Spurs won’t be able to compete us in term of money, City has too many wingers already, he won’t start over Mane & Salah if he joins Liverpool.

It is an upgrade in the sense that we are a bigger foorball club. However they play better football and actually manage to challenge for the title in their league (at least this season). So a player may prefer that in his development years.

As for competition if he fancies a move, Madrid, Bayern and Chelsea are all there.

Not only because United is bigger football club but Moving to EPL from Bundes Liga can also be part of the reason he wants to move away from Dortmund. EPL tier above Bundes Liga.

If he fancies move to England then we are probably in front of Chelsea who just signed Pulisic.

I used to feel worried about dortmund players and as you said mkhitarayan came from there & didn't exactly succeed here.

However, I've started to feel that our team has missed mkhitarayan - and whilst he did struggle here; I wouldn't say that he was completely useless here either.

Now I want that player & whether he comes from dortmund or not doesn't bother me - especially when the lad is endhlish and already rated quite highly for his age too.
Mkhi would still be our best right sided player

Another Jose master class.

They have a better team at the moment undoubtedly. Can’t see him moving this summer, not to us at least.

Massive place for him in our side on the right wing, it basically there for the taking. He wouldn't get that at any other linked club. So basically guaranteed starter for one of the world biggest clubs who can only really go one way from where we are now.... i'd say he would love to come here.
Dortmund do seem to do well with developing wide forwards..... perhaps we could send them chong for a 2 year loan as part of the deal, let them develop him for us.
Wow. Next level arrogance

Chong would get absolutely nowhere near Dortmund's first team. They are not going to develop a raw prospect unless they can make money out of him.

Sancho will play on the right, Greenwood in front, Gomes behind, Rashford through the middle and Martial on the left.
4-1-3-2?

Against Bury in the cup maybe. Against any decent PL side we'd be absolutely torn apart.

How about Sancho on the right, a Quality striker up front, a quality left attacker and a good no 10?

You people moan us not wining feck all but want to play with:
- a 17 year old as ST
- Rashford through the middle ????? (anyway, inconsistent, arrogant and immature; at least at the moment, potential is there, but at this given moment Welbeck was twice the player he is)
- Martial - He should be nowhere near this club, not even as a bench option. A fat Anderson would've been much active than he is on the field. Plus, what is Martial's position on the pitch, what's one thing that he is world class at?

We need fecking quality players if we want to rebuild, stop being sentimental fans, the old "United" way is dead. We need to play the money game and buy well established players.

@Sancho, he'd be the most obvious target for us, but dunno about Woody.

Not arrogant at all. - they tried with Januzaj. ok they failed but that was more down to the individual rather than the clubs coaches

What did they "try" with Januzaj? Develop a player for United?

Huh, what do you mean "you people"? No, You are being quite harsh since these are young players but I'm not laughing at your post either, I feel some what similar if I'm being honest. However I still rate Martial while Rashford, Gomes, Greenwood would be academy products, which I think is incredibly cool. Only if they all reach their top level potential it'll be good enough of course, but I'm trying to stay positive about some of this United-stuff, man. Don't hate.

Sancho / Werner / Jovic / Brandt/ Kai Havertz / Thiago from Bundisliga

Felix/ Bruno from Portugal

Aouar / Ndombele / Fekir / Pepe / Meunier from France

Insigne/ Pjanic / Skriniar / Milenkovic /Romagnoli/ Manoals/ Koulibaly from Italy

Eriksen/ Son / Trippier / Toby / WanBissika/ Brooks / Richarlison/
Tielemans from England

De Ligt / Ziyech / Hirving From Holland

5 or 6 from the above list would improve us for sure.

What's your thoughts on this list ?

WOW.

They had him on loan. Clearly thinking he would be of benefit to their team. Our motivation for sending him on loan was for him to develop.

Not too difficult to understand, no?

5 or 6 of them would be a dream summer. Almost all of them would walk into our team. It would also set us back about £400-500m

Not arrogant at all. - they tried with Januzaj. ok they failed but that was more down to the individual rather than the clubs coaches
They loaned Januzaj because he was already a good player and they wanted to add depth to their squad without spending much money. Chong is miles off where Januzaj was in 2014. They probably have players in their own reserves who are just as good, if not better.

Alright, the player being of use to Dortmund did not seem to be part of your though process when you proposed "perhaps we could send them chong for a 2 year loan as part of the deal, let them develop him for us." Maybe it was implied and I missed it. I doubt Chong is strong enough to be useful for them though so I guess that is not really an option and it definitely won't make a Sancho transfer more likely.

Generally Dortmund rarely loan players recently and if they do it is to cheaply patch up a hole in the squad as they did with Hakimi this season. On the right wing that is not necessary, they already have a pretty brilliant guy playing there ;)

We wanted to send Adnan out on loan, but everyone (more or less) was against him going to Dortmund, we wanted him to go to a club where he'd get more chances instead of going to a club where he'd have to compete against established and better players. Adnan was the one insisting on Dortmund. Head too big for his shoes or something like that. Shouldn't have been allowed to go there

Van Gaal spoke about it several times, how he was annoyed that Adnan decided Dortmund was the best fit for him

If Dortmund agree to sell Sancho then there wont be a shortage of clubs ready to take him...
Also I dont really see us being able to blow city or Madrid out of the water when it comes to a financial offer.
So I really struggle to see why he would fancy Thursday night treks over eastern Europe with the 6th best club in the Uk when he will have offers from the elite clubs and will be going there as an established player pretty much guaranteed playing time.
Our best hope is he stays at dortnumd for a year or 2 as we re-establish ourselves then we might have a chance of getting him

Hes not going back to City plus they dont need him. Chelsea have a transfer ban and just bought Pulisic and have Hudson Odoi. Liverpool cant afford and dont need him. Good chance he wants to return to the premier league which rules out Madrid/Barca. Instant starter and #7 at United which carries loads of prestige. Spurs/Arsenal can't afford him.

My main thing is will he want to leave this summer. If he doesnt push for it, he wont leave, because from Dortmunds POV they will get the same fee next season so they would rather hold on.

Honestly feel we should just break the bank and get him and De Ligt in the summer.

It'd improve us a lot more than 5 players would.

Alderweireld, Meunier and Ziyech would command only £75m in total. Only Sancho, De Ligt and Koulibaly who'd be closer to £100m.

It’s also a lot easy to find good players, but it’s hard to find great players.

This post is looking even funnier right now.

Dembele isn't fully fit.

The english are hilarious. You like to overrate your players...deluded.

In France and in the world, we praise Mbappe and Dembele...not Sancho who isnt even better than Coman

Dembele 16/17 - Dortmund. 6 goals, 13 assists.

Sancho 18/19 - Dortmund. 11 goals, 14 assists.

"Dembele is twice as good as Sancho"

But the English are deluded and overrates their players? :wenger:

I love how he just throws Dembele in with Mbappe when talking about levels of players, as though nobody will notice.

I get the logic behind Dembele's talent. You can just tell he can run with the ball glued to his feet and he's two footed. I just think it's insane to say Coman is superior to Sancho.

Nobody is denying his talent i don't think. But where some people think he's at is wrong. I'm fairness, he's behind Martial in terms of being proven at a reasonable level and look where Martial is in the football landscape.
