Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

It is not about getting his haircut . All he had to do was be responsible and put out a picture of him following the guidelines while doing it .

It's not hard to do and would have been a good thing to do but apparently thats too much to ask
Hard to argue against common sense. Still let's not be too judgmental yet but this isnt the first time he's been a bit, eh...much.

Okay.. I'm sorry but this guy is really immature. I hope he matures very quickly. At 19 Rashford was a good kid, very mature.

First he comes back to training clearly well overweight, and now he gets a haircut without the safety measures needed.

Red flags everywhere.

Kevin de Bruyne looks overweight atm, and I’d have him in a heart beat.

So his attitude in calling it a joke because he got fined for not following the protocols is a good sign of character ?

Thats the worrying thing about him. Its one thing to make a mistake but if you are going to throw your toys out of the pram when pulled up on it doesn't bode well for him
Totally agree with that,
Sancho must be a d***head for posting it and then to question the fine afterwards shows great immaturity.
Have to remember what Ole said regarding holes in the squad.

The way some on the caf react to any little controversy by our players or players we're targeting you'd think someone sinned in heaven. Way too judgemental

You couldn't make it up, honestly. I think some need a reminder that Germany hasn't been hit anywhere near as hard and are weeks ahead of the UK in terms of recovery. They now have bars and hairdressers open with social distancing enforced.

The reason he got a fine from the DFL was because neither him nor the barber had PPE while in Sancho's own home. The fine is a political statement from the DFL who have said to players "we have to earn the right for everyone to tune into our league again next week". They've fined him because they felt like it and he's right, it is a joke.

You really have to wonder what's driving this 'big time Charlie' label a few are very quick to accuse him of with very, very little evidence.

Wearing face masks is compulsory at regular hair dressers as well. It's not even just a footballer's rule that was broken. Not sure why you think it's a joke if he gets fined for it.
And this wasn't his first transgression either. He got dropped from the squad multiple times for missing training/showing up late.
Thus far it all seems to be relatively manageable, but some warning signs are definitely there.

Don't you know? Most of the Caf all had the discipline of buddhist monks and were paragons of virtue at 19/20 years old

Forget the goals and assists,Dortmund can keep that freshly trimmed virus in the making...

Don't mind me,just taking the piss out of this over the top overreaction

Yea, I’ve seen loads of regular folk with fresh trims on IG and similar. They didn’t receive loads of ‘what a disgrace’ comments either. Probably because they don’t play football, so people don’t have to feign outrage.

Can’t believe the last two pages of comments were about SANCHO getting a haircut and posters arguing about it

I’m sure he got his haircut in a clean and private environment. Not like he was seen in a barber shop that was open specially for him whereby breaking quarantine rules or something!

This thread is going bonkers:lol:

Tbf if the government enforced rules are to wear a mask while getting a haircut, you have to be pretty stupid to take a picture of you not wearing a mask during a haircut.

But many players are like this today. They dont really think. Kean had a party in his apartment, Grealish also broke some rules, etc.

I’m aware. His picture didn’t reflect him following the guidelines, and now he’s been fined. Your whole ‘the rules clearly don’t apply to him’ thing is doing too much though. Let’s not lose sight of the fact that it still remains just a haircut, in his own home, for perspective sake.

The thing is that it is not only about this occasion. There were a lot more. Not attending team meetings. Unallowed flights to London. Coming too late to training sessions...

And he lacks understanding of why he was fined... - because after he was fined he not only posted the remark about the DFL that he later deleted but liked this tweet, too...

The DFL had to fight for their concept to restart the league - and they are still critically eyed by a lot of the people in Germany. The rules about the barber/haircutter treatment are not just there for the players but for the whole public.

Apparently dropped from their squad for today's match against Hertha.

Maybe I’m to old to fully understand this new generation but all these small incidents looks like a young man with bad habits and a personality who’s unwilling to stay in line. My experience as old enough to be his father (or grandfather) gives me small red flags but I’m probably not representative of how we should judge a young highly talanted fotballer in today’s social media landscape.

Maybe he's just thinking what's the issue with me getting a haircut if we're allowed to play football to satisfy big business .

I'd probably do exactly the same. The figures are very low in Germany I don't see the issue

I can understand why they've overreacted, but it is definitely an overreaction. If he says he just took off his mask to have the photo taken, a private warning not to do that again would have sufficed. He's taking more risks at work, so you can see why it's ridiculous from his perspective. Masks are only even shown to be helpful to prevent you spreading the virus if you have it yourself, and he's being constantly tested so he knows he doesn't.

Storm in a teacup, for me. Let me know when it's a sex party with hookers and then we can get morally outraged.

What do you mean there have been millions of death in this pandemic so just because you are hip and cool and earn millions of dollars rules don't apply to you? He did something he shouldn't have done and got a slap on the wrist, acting up about it shows you exactly where he sees himself. Rules obviously do not apply to him. He needs to grow up.

Why are people saying it's an overreaction? They have clearly said that not wearing a mask will incur a fine. Plain and simple. He was rightly fined for breaking the rules. What is the point of rules if they are never enforced. Completely correct.

Akanji also got fined for doing the same according to the BBC article.

Sancho has over 4 million followers on Insta. The increased comments (over those regular folk) might have something to do with that, don't you think?

Complete over-reaction I agree, but rules are rules and as a public / famous figure with over 4m followers on some app or website a better idea probably would have been to take the picture getting a haircut with a mask on - if you're inclined to post pictures of you getting a haircut on social of course.

The kid should still be our no. 1 priority this summer and the more p1ssed off he gets at the german league officials etc the better for us

Yes, we do seem to take our time completing deals, which is frustrating.

But I don't see what reason there is to say that right now United are dallying.

Do you expect United to be announcing a transfer today?
Sadly there are posters who feel Utd should have concluded deals..last week. They literally have no idea how business works

And what if after one year he gets pist off with Man Utd officials. I remember back in the day Rio would check with the Utd comms department before posting anything slightly controversial.

It’s professional behaviour, I know it’s a balance and can be restrictive however they are role models.

Imagin 4 million of his fans thinking now Yh fk these masks, because they’re probably very impressionable.

If he played for us and posted something silly like that I’d be fuming. If you play for a top club follow the rules don’t embarrass us in public, it’s not hard, especially through direct actions like posting on your own fkin twitter Account!!

Indeed...struggling to see what they've done wrong here. Nothing wrong with him getting a haircut in Germany as per the rules but also the rules state masks must be worn by both customer and stylist. I don't buy the 'vanity' rule of taking the mask off for the photo and even if that was the case...why? There's no need and he would have gotten away without a mask if a photo wasn't taken so perhaps he should be moaning more about the picture than the fine.

He is a wally for posting that picture especially in the current situation, however I still feel he should be our top target in that position.

The hysterics are one thing but you can't be serious, no need to flat out make stuff up to justify your hand wringing

Logically, but the proportional difference in attitude is also telling. The fact is, people don’t care about others getting haircuts. They don’t even care about others ‘breaking social distancing rules’ and going out sometimes. I can see this because they see others do it every day, and show no signs of caring. Of course, a footballer now, presents an opportunity for their judgemental, outrage reflex to kick in. I don’t believe that, generally speaking, the people in this thread alone saying how unacceptable this is would say anything if they came across mine or your profile and saw us getting a home cut unmasked. The point is, as far as the issue goes itself, people don’t actually care. It is just that there are rules, and if caught, you are fined. Cool.

Half the moaners probably get in a car without wearing a seatbelt from time to time, for example. We know it’s ‘the rule’. But you’re doing too much now, because there is an inherent need to want to tear down successful people.

I think there’s a distinct difference between this and Grealish for example.

Sancho is taking part in full contact sport during a much more controlled stage.

It’s stupid but a fine is enough.

Grealish drunk drove crashing into cars during the most vital point in a lockdown because he wanted to party.

How much was the fine?
He broke the rules, don't see what the problem is.

Yea, I agree with this, I see no issue with his fine.Rules are clear. I am just a little more wound up by the public’s lambasting, as I genuinely don’t believe they really care that much about someone cutting their hair at home without a mask on - generally speaking.

I don't think Rio is the best example to hold up for responsible behaviour!

There is a major difference. One admitted his mistake and took responsibility. The other played the victim.

Sancho is a young kid though. Being in a squad with a good culture like United are developing would be good for him.

I want to sign Sancho but what kind of cnut gets a photo of a haircut and posts it on the internet?

Here’s a guy with a guy you don’t know standing behind him with a haircut different to the one you didn’t know he had previously.

Cool.

Media would make a big deal of a player cutting his nails too short nowadays. They crave the clicks like junkies and with users being more and more impatient (to say the least, if we're being honest the more adequate word is plain stupid) it works perfectly for them.

I mean, here we are, discussing it :D

His barber is the one that posted it on his account as most present day 'high end' barbers do on social media with famous clients but go off I guess

Real funny how the Bayernsliga didn't fine Boateng who had a cut without a mask from the very same barber just a month ago, just the Dortmund players...
