Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Apparently he won't be kicked out because it happened before England duty, whereas Greenwood/Foden were on England duty. At least that's what Sky Sports said earlier.

I suppose I can kind of understand but it's clear there was more risk in a 20 person birthday party with 3 of our players there vs 2 hot chicks in Iceland. Even the heightened risk of them having coronavirus should discount them from the squad.

southgate doesn’t have a clue to be honest. Not a single clue.

Evra said it best yesterday. When you walk into a car dealership it’s not you who decides how much the car is going to cost. It’s unheard of.

Yep.

It might have been different if they desperately needed to sell, but clearly they didn't. So why we thought they'd cave and agree to an offer significantly below their valuation, I have no idea.

And tbf I don't have an issue with us deciding not to pay that much. But we could have moved for an alternative earlier then rather than waiting for the price of something we couldn't afford to drop for no apparent reason. Other top clubs decided they couldn't afford him either but they didn't spend the summer pining after him.

Does sound like Manchester United supporters.

It's said that we're 1Billion strong. I don't think we're all stupid. The only United's supporter I met from Redcafe stuck me to be very bright, far brighter then I am. (ok that doesn't say much but oh well)

Cant wait to see the juicy details

I bet we get stories of just how inept we are in the coming weeks.
1000% its going to be grim. I bet we basically had him at one point and fecked it.

You're being far too kind, guys. This is not ineptitude. The correct summary is as below imo:

This doesnt feel like incompetence, its more like being hoodwinked. You cant fail this spectacular unless its by design

It's baffling, I don't think I'll ever truly make sense of our approach to this deal. I'm not angry, I'm just unsurprisingly disappointed in this club.

Still it ain't over till it's over!

Let's hope when Netflix do a deal with United for a shiny new all-access documentary called "No Value in the Market", all will be laid bare

I've been fully invested in this from the start, but it just sounds like Utd & Dortmund like having their names in the paper so are dragging it out!

The time for a Netflix deal was when Moyes was around for the comedy, LVG for the crazy, Jose for the meltdown. Ole is too boring for a documentary.

Considering we are getting Traore for 30m, Pallestri (??) for 10m, and still looking at Dembele, I think this ship has sailed for good even for future windows.

This. This right here is EXACTLY the problem.

And lets not pretend the players dont follow our transfer news. They did their best last season hoping for major investment in the first team so that they can kick on and win trophies. When all they see is Utd buying squad players, ofcourse its demotivating. I'm not surprised to see the fall in morale of the team.

This is all on Woodward/Judge.

Spot on there. This will be another end of a transfer window where Eddy will have an omelette made of his own balls all over his face.

I’m so gutted this hasn’t gone through, I honestly thought he was the key to helping us unlock tight defences and teams starting to fear us again.

Clutching on straws.

NOT OVER YET?

I've been adamant that it'll be done, but i've accepted that it's over now.
Maybe until Jan, maybe until Summer... Maybe he'll never come if we miss out on top 4.

Dembele is unlikely too...

Can't see this happening in the future I'm afraid.

Always thought it was this summer, when we were the only team in for him, or never.

Fully expecting him to end up at one of our domestic rivals in the near future now and we'll have the same feeling that we had whenever we saw Hazard tearing up the league.

It's done and dusted.

Cavani, Telles, Pellestri and Traore. The deadline day transfers are done.
The thing that's sad is:
  • Van de beek - €40m
  • Traore - €30m
  • Pellistri - €10m
  • Telles - €20m
  • Cavani - massive wages/agent fees
That's €100m in transfer fees, not counting any fees for cavani. Sancho was very possible if we made the offer back in August, based on what we seemingly have spent this window between transfer fees, agent fees and wages for all these players. It was a huge chance to get a world class right winger who is young and would make a huge difference, give us a lift to build on last season. Squad players are much easier to sign than someone like that. Yet here we are, spending all this money on deadline day because everything else failed. What a mess.

feck me, 2 months of meaningless shit and nonsense in here. Well done guys. Deal was dead in August, but you kept going

Pellistri and Traore should be not be counted in that. Those 2 are good signing and are there to make sure we don't have to spend 100m few year later

Feck Dortmund. Can we still get Grealish instead, if we spend big? we should just splash the cash on him.

Its 40m spent between the 2 of them though, with literally 0 experience between them. Thats insane. City spent 20m on Ferran Torres ffs.

Folks, if you are dead set on recruiting a Borussia Dortmund player with a good reputation, why not go for WC2014 superhero Mario Götze instead? The guy is a free agent and can be picked up for very little money.

If Sancho is non-deal, Traore in January with Dembele on loan for the year is probably one of the best possible alternatives.

Sancho will be a Chelsea player come August 2021.

This window has been a spectacular feck up by Woodward and his team; they had literally half a year to get this right and have ended up scrambling around in the last days of the window for scraps, further to that, they shot for the primary target and didn't even hit the board.

At a proper organisation, heads would roll for such incompetence. But as Woodward is answerable only to himself, the same foolishness will just run on and on to the next window, and the next, and the next.

With what they've done this window, they've made a rod for their own backs with Dortmund, too. Haaland, and further down the line, Bellingham, have just gotten further away from our grasp before they're even up for the scramble.

I do not understand how a prominent, multi-billion pound company can be in this much of a shambles. Sincerely.

Ferran Torres is a great signing but Traore is rated higher. I don't think it's fair to include both of them.

We need a RW and hoping we get it

Can see Sancho at Chelsea next summer if they get top four. Solskjaer's managerial capabilities looking like it will collapse this season. This clubs an embarrassment said it last month.

If Ole doesn't get top 4 I don't think he'll last to be honest.

Personally I think there's something to the story that the intermediaries struck a deal and then Woodward tried to go lower.
