Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

Bundesliga White Knights: "You will not sign Sancho! das very funny. Mein club sign none also but mine better than Glaziers and clueless Ed. Ha Ha Ha. Enjoy fighting for top 4 while mein club fight for relegation".

Also german teams... "Ja das Bayern wants our best players... let's just sell them zu Bayern for a kartoffel und eine can of sauerkraut"

Looks like the Germans were right all along. There’s definitely an analogy to be made between these negotiations and Brexit negotiations. And not a favourable one. Although I suspect we’ve known for some time we can’t afford him.

Perhaps it will end up a blessing in disguise, Greenwood will get more games this year and I honestly don’t think Sancho is the type of player that takes us from top 4 to title challengers overnight.

If Greenwood can grab us 15-20 goals from RW this season and Cavani can chip in with a few (as a squad player) then I would be pretty happy.

I really wish we could sign a couple of defenders, we would be improved far more by replacing Lindelof and Shaw than adding Sancho IMO.

I remember the same thing being said about David Gill a few years back. Press making out he had a couple of bodyguards accompanying him to Blockbuster in Altrincham once the transfer window had shut.

I wouldn't mind if we couldn't afford him and we stopped there. What I didn t like is the whole media circus. Ok there was nothing official but journos close to the club were reporting that we were in for him.
And the club knew that the fans were expecting Sancho to sign for us. But they left us hoping to the last minute.
Now the club is trying blame Gary Neville for the fans anger.
They have could told the fans that they didn't intend to pay full price for Sancho weeks ago.

Very unprofessional

Oh totally. I honestly don’t get the media strategy with this. It’s like they’ve been trying to create a backlash. Maybe we have no money to invest and Ed/Judge will be sacked to hide the fact and make it out like they were just incompetent...to protect the Glazers.

Are we 100% sure he doesn’t want to go to any club outside of England? Did he ever explicitly state that?

I can’t see Chelsea coming back in for him unless all their transfers absolutely flop. I think Liverpool would be in for him, and I don’t buy that he wouldn’t go back to city either.

Those who know him know he wants to come back home. I mean why do you think he wants to come here to win tones of medals:lol:

Liverpool aren’t going to spend that money and neither are City especially if Pep is there. He won’t want him.

According to The Mirror, security will be going up around Ed Woodward's home with the transfer window closing soon, with the club believing Gary Neville's outbursts have been inflammatory and disturbing.

Don't think Gary is the cause of the outrage tbh.
#MUFC
Would be a real outrage if they revealed the fee for Woodward's bodyguards was taken directly from our transfer budget.

Unfortunately we’ve had to sack the conductor on the Sancho train due to lack of travellers in recent days. It’s currently operating empty with just staff on board.

Jokes aside, someone posted a list that showed that more often than not mega transfers haven’t worked out.

I think are always going to be those types of examples but I expect there as many if not more of ones which worked. Off the top of my head and Utd related
Roy Keane
Rio Ferdinand
Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Robin Van Persie
Ronaldo to Real.

Anyone with a name starting with a R by the looks of it too.

Quick Ed - new transfer strategy.

Rodrigo from Leeds incoming in swap deal with Dan James.

They were blaming the fans last week. Its everybody else's fault except theirs

I am staying on until tomorrow night but just can't see things drastically changing in next 24 hours

Gary Neville, a club legend, spent all of his career at United and won eight Premier League titles during that period, now he is being paid for his opinions and the club thinks it's disturbing.

If he signs for us now he'll be rubbish. If he signs for Liverpool next summer he'll be brilliant. So basically we'll be better off not wasting all that money on him.

Close to 52,000 posts in this thread now

Can anyone confirm, is this the longest transfer thread in caf history?

Thinking back to classic threads of the past. The Tiago thread, the Fabregas thread, the Sneijder thread. Surely this beats them all by some distance?
By a long long way, except nothing about this one has been entertaining or funny. It’s all page chasing and repetitive shite.

Muppetry is a stressful hobby guys, I'm worried for you. Soon 1300 pages, that's insane!

Jadon isn't coming guys, let it go and you will find peace.

Media strategy? They just hired Neil Ashton from the Sun.:)
As long as they re interested exclusively about the number of clicks and consider content irrelevant

They don’t though. Woodward has hired security. They know the negativity around the club isn’t a good thing yet by repeatedly saying Sancho is target number one and doing sod all else they’re setting themselves up for a huge backlash on Tuesday when inevitably he isn’t here. It makes zero sense. Like most things the club does these days.

Dortmund would look so unbelievably weak if they were to sell now. It's just not worth it for them.

Knows he’s done such a shit job he‘s gotta hire security because of the backlash. Imagine being that bad at your job.
No, he’s doing a brilliant job, saving Glazers money. If we fail, it’s Neville’s fault, and maybe also Jadon’s because he didn’t shit in Zorc’s breakfast.

you will never get promoted with sensible posts like that in this thread

I guess so

Miles ahead of you. I've been boycotting for six months now

You see people, some are already taking action :D

There is a lot of frustration with our ownership, but the truth is we can not fix the problem without a solution.

The solution is new owners with a different vision and objective. But as has already been discussed a few times, the club is pretty much unsellable based on current value. The only person that would buy Utd is a rich fanatic.

Yes I know, but that cancer from Florida will stay with us until something drastic happens. We are the largest fanbase in the world, we need large scale protests and i really hope that lot of fans who are right now still hoping Sancho deal, or defending Glazers are going to really start turning on the Glazers. In 2010 fanbase was still very divided on Glazers. SAF silenced many of us when he protected Glazers. I hope that when the next big protests are going to come then we wont be silenced or diveded

Pretty hard to boycott games at the moment...
Sorry couldn’t resist.

Some would say that right now is the perfect time to boycott games ;)
No need to be sorry for a fecking good joke mate

Tbf I think the Glazers are more to blame. I assume that they pulled the plug on such a huge deal. Woody was just executing their order.

You just know all the "Happy Sancho day" people are going to start boring on about the Jan window immediately after this one shuts.

If we were never going to pay the full price then why did United's PR constantly send out the message to the papers that the club's confident a deal can be made? Why not bury the rumours at the first opportunity instead of leading everyone on for so long? We bid £90 million but can't afford the extra 18, even though we're handing over £20 million to Cavani with his 2 year deal, it's fecked.

Sky are absolutely desperate to get anything they can from this aren't they?
Just imagine what it's going to be like tomorrow. They're going to be milking it every single hour until the window closes, one way or another.
