If We hadn’t qualified for the CL on the last day of the season we’d be about £60 million worse off (CL tv money and Adidas sponsorship decreasing). From an accountancy point of view surely they would have modelled on a worse case scenario basis. So it begs the question, why isn’t this “free money” being used to strengthen the team?
The corona excuse is not going to cut it with fans when clubs like a Liverpool and even Aston fecking Villa are spending big.
On a side note, Solskjaer needs to grow a pair of balls and stop kissing his bosses arse! His recent comments are both embarrassing and pathetic. Woodward and the Goblins will not protect him when results are shit.

Surely one issue is the longer you leave it to eventually pay up what they wanted all along you've probably pissed off Dortmund so much that they won't sell anyway, like if you just put up the money in the last few days of the window it leaves them no time to replace him. They aren't under any actual obligation to sell at the asking price from what we hear (ie. it's not a release clause).
Our strategy doesn't really make sense at this point, either we're going to pay up what they want, if so what are we really waiting for, or we aren't, and should have shut it down by now, something we also very clearly haven't done.

United's alleged stance of "your price is too high" is pointless unless the player agitates for the moved, which he hasn't.

The difference is how the deals are structured, The Athetlic claim that Liverpool are paying feck all up front for Thiago, the rest is structured as future payments.Dortmund are, according to every available piece of information, isn't interested in a long term structured deal, they want the vast majority up front. There's a reason Liverpool didn't go for Werner's release clause, because they would've had to fork it out up front, which they can't.
There's nothing wrong with Ole's comments, any fecktard that's able to read between the lines will easily see that he's making it perfectly clear that he wants the signings to be made. Liverpool getting Jota means there is no other big team for Sarr. He`s probably the only Sancho alternative I`d welcome as he`d be the perfect winger to use for the local cup games as Greenwood plays in the PL and CL Sarr plus Telles would soften the blow on not getting Sancho

I don’t buy into the theory that clubs “get pissed off”. These deals aren’t personal. They’re a financial negotiation between two business entities for the sale of an asset. The rest is window dressing for, or by, the media.
Our window does indeed now hinge on Sancho because at this point most players we’ve been linked with have either moved elsewhere or been shut down. Except Sancho. Publicly at least he’s the last deal standing.
This all or nothing strategy is risky but clever. If we get him now it will be viewed as a successful window even though we did limited business. If we don’t get him we’ll have to endure tiresome Ed and Glazer Out rants until the next window opens.

The oddity is that most people would agree that £108 million in the 'current climate' is too much, no big deal, no other club is coming close to spending that much on a single transfer, so why should we, etc.
