If having the likes of Liverpool and Man City running English football the last few years hasn't been enough to ignite a fire and force them to get serious about the footballing aspect of running the club then I'm afraid nothing, fan related or otherwise, will :(

They have champions league money next season and the adidas money is secure for two more years. They don't give a flying feck about anything else
 
Not sure if it's already been posted. But there seems to be a lack of appetite from the Glazers to spend big money on United this window, either on a Sancho type signing, or indeed an older high quality player like Thiago if they don't feel it is good value, taking into consideration wages etc.

Now I may be wrong but didn't they sanction the signing of Tom Brady for the Buccaneers this season? A big name like that doesn't come to play for pennies.

The Glazers don't care about trophies.

They're very lucky they had the greatest manager ever to mask their incompetence.

They did, but Brady is way past his best and the salary isn't that high relatively nor is the guaranteed money.

Plus, the Bucs haven't made the playoffs for 12 seasons(2nd longest drought in the NFL).

True. But Brady is on $50million over two years, which is a lot of money for a team, as you say, who haven't made the playoffs in years. United, however bad it seems, are still a CL team, and have won trophies in that time. It just doesn't sit right that they are investing that over there, but not in United, when it is clear we need the investment to kick on. Very frustrating.

The NFL has a hard salary cap, which limits the amount a team can spend on its players. Brady is getting $25 million per year from Tampa Bay. Whilst that's a good amount of money, it's Tampa's own money, not the Glazers'. Tampa's financial activity will not affect United in any way.

It's still a lot of money, but nowhere near as much as other quarterbacks have gotten lately.

Plus Brady is 43 and clearly past his prime. It's not that big of a coup honestly.
 
Can't believe we spent a whole summer fecking around on this to get nowhere. Well, seemingly nowhere.

This had better be a done deal, so much time wasted.
 
I think we will get Sancho and a fullback. Thiago would of been the icing on the cake but no chance of that happening now. If we get Sancho and a attacking fullback I think we could potentially challenge for the league.
 
Having seen the top teams strengthen this summer, I now definitely think Woodward will pull off Sancho even if he has to pay 120 without add-ons.

The top 2 don’t scare me as much as Arsenal, Spurs, Wolves, Everton scare me with their upgrades.

Woodward must surely know even top 4 is a huge risk now.

It’s definitely on. Sancho will be ours.
 
BVB will then ask for more money due to us wasting their time in bringing in a adequate replacement.
 
If we dont get this over the line we are a clown club who are only postioned to line the glazers pockets. All our rivals are strengthening this summer....

They don't even need to invest.

They just need to stop taking money out of the club for 2-3 years, and we are good.
 
Do people on here think Sancho genuinely wants to play for United or he is just after a big pay cheque? The comments I read about him from Pep Guardiola made me think this boy could be a problem for us.

Why would you place any importance on the utterances of Pep Guardiola? The only problem with Sancho is we can’t feckin we’ll afford him.

That’s is the least of our worries right now, almost as little of a concern as Tom Brady’s salary.
 
Deja vu of the Moyes summer window when we spent the entire window chasing deals that would not happen and ended up panic buying shite. This is literally just a repeat of that and it's cringeworthy to see how many got sucked into this farce thinking it will happen. Such a fecking joke man we had the chance to sign one of the most promising brittish talents in decades and blew it because we "don't" have the money...

Absolutely useless leech owners.

A quick google search tells me he scored 17 and assisted 16 in 32 (25+7) in the Bundesliga last season.

Maybe we are done chasing 2nd choice, maybe we're willing to wait until we get what we want, no matter what it takes.

Regardless of how long it actually takes. Had our fingers burnt over the last few years. He is an upgrade, but not a absolute necessity, since Greenwood can cover for now. That changes once it hinders his development.

Nothing to be frustrated about. VDB has the ability to cover for multiple positions in midfield. Someone we have desperately needed, since our options are fecking dire.

I wouldn't personally.

Although Jose is the one who gets the notoriety and stick for it, Pep's also got quite the ego and has fallen out with just as many of his stars over the years and it's gotten ugly at times.

Any personal animosity or issues he might have with a player is none of my business nor will it have any impact on my opinion of said player.

We've seen the way he's handled their academy products during his time at City in favor of splashing endless sums of money so it doesn't surprise me that he let a talent like Sancho get away.

If you want your first choice, you need to pay first choice price. We have no intention to do either. That's a ridiculous argument, the premise here is that everyone would be more than happy for us to sign Sancho, but we won't, because we won't pay what he costs. Where the issue lies is the fact that they're going to use his pursuit as justification for not making any other movements that we could use that money for instead.

Also you claim we're done chasing second choice but then use VDB as an example. He would have hardly been our first choice, when midfielders like Thiago were available, in positions we needed to strengthen, if not for our lack of interest in spending what's required.
 
The annoying thing about us not going for Sancho, regardless of the reasonings, is that this window has already seen very decent alternatives for the RW go to direct rivals. We're left scraping the bowl.

3. Q2 earnings. They do not want the Sancho deal to show up in Q2 earnings in which we would otherwise take an operational loss. I would imagine some of the loan deals are tied to the stock price.
4. Savings of 500k in wages if we sign him a month later, which also gives us time to clear up some deadwood to make the books look better.

Obviously many footballing reasons to do it asap.

they should too. Maybe it’ll teach Ed a lesson. I just wish he could be moved aside, if even only for peace of mind, strip the layers back. We definitely know now it’s not the manager. The players are what they are without further investment. They’ve been playing to the best of their capabilities. we seriously need to sort out Our recruitment process and future strategies before we even bother signing anyone else. Every manager is basically set up to fail here.
