Jadon Sancho| Staying at Dortmund for now

It doesn't even matter when Dortmund sell Sancho, the fact that it's completely inevitable they'll sell him and really only because of a pandemic are they not selling him this year (potentially, still a few weeks remaining in the current window).

I can understand if you're holding on to players if you're legitimately trying to win something or are on the cusp of it, but Dortmund aren't on the cusp of winning a Bundesliga, CL, Europa League, their domestic cups, etc. They came close to winning the Bundesliga during Kovac's tenure, which was really poor and the team had a downturn in performances. In DFB Pokal and CL, they've crashed out in the Round of 16 in both competitions the past 3 seasons.

All this to say, Dortmund will sell. And when they do sell Sancho, I hope they get their 120M Euros and nothing less. What's the point of playing hardball with your asset and putting a value on them if it isn't met?

As for United, they need to find a stop gap solution for one year if they intend to try and sign Sancho again in the coming winter or next summer window...or completely move on from him and go to their alternative choices.

Woah this is at the bottom of the front page. Looks like nothing is happening.

If Sancho does stay until next summer (of course he won’t), that’s Dortmund potentially losing Sancho and Haaland in the same summer.

Just seen our predicted line up for Saturday. Coupled with the fact that we haven’t got Jadon here yet, is really starting to feck me off. How the hell have we wasted all this time and only signed VDB.

Again the people that run our club are letting us down. Sancho should’ve been here now and settling into his new home and gelling with his new team mates.

Instead we prepare to play Palace with fecking Lingard in midfield and still a dodgy looking defence.

Feck you Woodward and feck you Glazers.

Wait, why would Lingard be playing on Saturday?

I like our strategy for Sancho to leave it to the last week. I think we're being a bit too soft though. We should leave it to the last minute. That last minute will result in Dortmund's final and desperate act of reducing his value by millions. Hell they might even throw in Haaland at that point. Genius....puuuure genius. Wile E. Coyote style.

Couldn't agree more, see how Dortmund have reduced their valuation from '120m' to '120m or feck off' due to our negotiations

Think we’ll hear some comments of desperation from Ole in the last week of the window and we still havent signed Sancho.

The board is playing mindgames not just with Dortmund but also with the fans, Ole and Sancho. They could’ve just ended the interest early if the price was too high. That’s what keeps me confident about this still.

Another day has gone
We yet to sign Jadon
How could this be?
It must be cause of Ole
Glazers said they'll try
They keep wondering why
We need to spend money
To bring in some glory

Every day Woodward sits and ask himself
Were are the glory days?
Someone whispered in his ears and said

That he's incompetent
An ahole since birth
If we had our way
He'll be kicked away

Today its 2020-09-17.
2020 - 9 x 17 = 1867
Our club was founded 1878

1878 - 1867 = 11
How many letters is it in Jadon Sancho? 11...
coincident? i dont think so....

not convinced yet?

Sanchos main position is Right Winger right?
you know who else was a right winger?
Hitler, Hitler was born 1889

1889 - 1878 = 11. nuff said.

Deal is done, Happy Sancho day all.:devil::devil:

There was a young man, from London, Camberwell
He was so good at football, a star, you could tell
Moved to Dortmund from city and tore up the league
whilst Manchester United looked on with intrigue

Such pace, skill and trickery, he plays like a dream
He'd light up the stadium, of any great team
On the left or the right wing, he just takes the piss
You could spend all day counting his goals and assists

But 120 million, is it too much to spend?
We just have to pay it, if we want to contend
Fans all want to sign him, There'd be muppets in Heaven
Ed, just pay the money, make him our new number seven

Am not sure why United still won't just throw in a bid. I'm sure it will definitely trigger proper negotiations. Time is running out and it's easy for BD to use the absence of a concrete bid to tell him it's too late to find a replacement.

I agree with this. It seems to me that Utd fans are put through the ringer during each window far more than for any other Club. Every big name player that is looking for a move is linked with us, even when completely false, before going elsewhere. When we do have genuine targets, successful or otherwise, the transfer process seem to go on forever, especially when our rivals seem to be signing players right, left and centre.

Is it too much to ask for us to sign players quickly? I wish the Club would just put out a statement saying we’ve ended our interest in a certain player because a deal wasn’t possible. If Dortmund can put out a statement to say Sancho is staying, surely Utd could put out a similar statement saying whether talks are over or if negotiations are ongoing. Either way it wouldn’t affect their negotiations. The silence just gives ammunition to WUMs and wannabe ITKs to play on our hopes. No confirmed news increases the distrust the fans have in the board and the Owners. I know they don’t care, but still....

Only Liverpool haven’t strengthened yet in this window, but I’d say their fans are pretty relaxed given how strong their lineup is. Thiago will be a bonus rather than a necessity, unless they lose Winaldum.

The build up to a transfer window is a time of hope and expectation. The press have us for months that deals have already been done and a certain player will join us. Then the window opens and..... nothing. Hope turns to anxiety and then on deadline day a signing such as Ighalo ultimately will lead to disappointment.

I for one, can’t wait for the season to start and the Transfer window to close. The only thing that cheers me up is that City have lost both Sane and David Silva and didn’t sign Messi.

This is the longest post I’ve ever written, but I’ve had a few sherries this evening so please forgive me.

I have been trying to stay positive with utd and this transfer. But over the last few days my positivity is gone. I thought we might get a left back, but nope a well useful cheapish one looks on route to spurs, I know about the buy back clause etc, but still thought we would get it done. Then I thought maybe if we didn't get jadon we might chance bale on a loan and wait for next summer for sancho. But again nope. With dortumd it seems like this isn't going to happen cause utd won't go to the price. Can't wait til this window is closed. Disaster. We needed at least 4players to continue the squad development. We needed to get alot of deadwood out the door too.. Neither has happened. OK donny is a good signing and alexis going is great. But it's going to take a miracle 2weeks to class this window as success and not a missed opportunity. Which unfortunately I can't see happening because utd and Ed seem to be slow and struggling to get deals done for whatever reason. Here's hoping for injury free season. Can't wait for a normal window next summer closing the end of August. Like the good old days

There you go. When asked about options you come up with "its not my job". So maybe let the ones who are in that job do their thing? Or is it a general tendency for fans to moan for anything the club does?

How about trying to get a player that fits the profile a manager is looking for? And get the best one out there fitting that profile?

I wish PSG thought that it's wasn't worth paying 180m for talent like Mbappe or even City when they signed KdB for big money pre Neymar transfer. Only if it was so easy to find talent, with fitting profile, shopping in bargain bins that offers similar quality as what Jadon does.

But yeah I guess running the club are clueless fecks who should just listen to fans who witness transfers happening under special circumstances like last year of contract, players recovering from ACL, the club being in ruins ala Valencia.

People complained when we just got the players for the sake of it. People complain when there are standards set for recruitment. The complaints and moaning is the only thing constant here.

I love a top red like ayush! Such top reds eat up whatever turd Edward Woodward and his dullards are offering and moan against any other fans questioning the job club are doing. Because 'the club knows best, the manager knows best, they can do no wrong.'

So dear piyush, the season has already started, are you happy with the transfer campaign so far? Has the club provided the manager with enough resources to compete?

All this posturing by Woody, eventually he will end up paying every single penny that Dortmund is asking, and maybe more. This is it, it's now or never. I don't expect United to be able to sign Sancho next summer when other heavyweights will get involved.

Because we don't have the money Dortmund is asking for.

Are there still muppets in this thread expecting us to sign Sancho this summer?

Yes we do.
The Glazers convincing part of our fanbase that we're poor is the magic trick of the century.
It has nothing to do with convincing us and being a trick. We lost money in the last quarter, it is right there in the financial sheets. And we are going to lose more money this quarter. And almost surely, we are going to lose money until covid ends.

We also have only 90m pounds on cash, and had to take a debt of 150m to cover operations expenses. You can trust to believe the 'biggest club in the world' or 'United big and rich' nonsense, or the financial sheets.

For what is worth, the other big clubs are losing money too. It is why Madrid couldn't buy VDB or Barca doesn't have money to buy Depay.

Or maybe the people convincing you that the pandemic and the resulting economic fallout doesn’t impact us is the magic trick of the century.

Nicely done!

Not worth you wasting your time to explain!

what do you think Woodward’s best offer for Sancho is? What is his best bid?

Lingard, a pack of crisps and a box of Belgian chocolate he bought for £70m.

I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert but I'm pretty sure football clubs have means other than immediate cash reserves to pay for transfer fees.
The Covid is losing pace fast, some countries already have (limited) spectators at football matches, England surely will follow shortly.
I don't understand the sarcastic remarks, we're the 3rd most valuable club in the world, shortly behind Barcelona and Real Madrid, so yeah we're fecking huge.

I have no clue, but I would be extremely surprised if we go over 90m pounds (and even that needs to be spread over 2-3 years). Would be extremely dangerous if we spent all the cash we have in transfers, and even spend money from the debt we got to cover expenses to buy players.

The only way I can see us paying 108m pounds in one lump sum is if Glazers share some of their stocks and finance the deal via that. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a realistic chance of that happening.

120 paid out in installments. 60 the first year, 20 the next three. Where they got the figure of 120 is a mystery, but if they want it it will be over time or not at all from us.
