Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

Nah Chelsea continually fecked up the good chances by not putting them on goal. On/off target is fairly meaningless.

Perhaps we are just talking past each other then? I put very little stock in the ratings that these sites put together - but for me a 5 on a 1-10 scale would be "ok".

I'm willing to concede that "tremendous" might have been a bit much - but "ok" for me equates to mediocre, and that's where I'd disagree.
Yeah, I think so.

I don't put too much into ratings either, just one bit of data. But for what its worth, in my books okay isn't bad. I know it's semantics but 5 is average, okay is more towards good. Tremendous is 9 territory.

Gotcha - I suppose this was all a (somewhat) toxic misunderstanding and I apologise for whatever role I played in that unreservedly.

I had him in the 7.5 to pushing 8 range - so perhaps we aren't a million miles apart after all!

given what we know about Rashford’s training aptitude, I can understand why he would have felt at the time like he had been targeted unfairly by Eth.

Until the day he signs for Chelsea permanently, average performances will be hyped up. When he signs permanently, I give it 2 to 3 months, get to sept/Oct, and it'll be posts from Chelsea fans saying they were gaslit and the media will be out for him, saying his performances have dropped (they won't have, it'll be the same but the narrative will change).

Save this post.

Couldn't give a shiny shite what he does at Chelsea. He was a disgraceful waste of space at United and that should never be forgotten

Another mistake and a mishandled situation. Should be part of the squad now.

Richards doesn’t usually play RCB but he made him look very silly twice for Chelsea’s goal yesterday. The talent’s still there for sure.

No he shouldn't - his application here was absolutely appalling, regardless of his spat with ETH.

We need extremely strong personalities, not just good players to get us out of this mess - he's not it.

He's taking his chances at Chelsea but his time at United was poor. You could see he made his mind up early that he didn't want to play for us and made things difficult with the manager. I'm totally glad he doesn't have a way back in to United and what he achieves at Chelsea I care little about. He was part of a problem group of players that need to be away from the club. Good riddance and for those wanting him back - you have short memories.

The Rashford sale/loan thread will be word for word what this thread is. Can't wait to remind folk in that what a lazy fecker he has been too.

Only if you put yourself in the mind of a very stupid person. A manager will pick his team based on lots of factors. Players who don’t train well enough will slip down the pecking order. Players who produce on match day will move up the pecking order. Players who don’t produce and don’t train well end up where Sancho was (although it’s incredibly rare for players that end up in that situation to cry about how unfair it is on social media). Rashford had infinitely more credit in the bank as a United player from what he did on the pitch than Sancho ever had.

While he was dissappointing for United after doing so great for Dortmund, his end product from his first season at United would still get him in today's team.

Every season or 2 we have a jump and degrade our standards several levels. Amad and Bruno are better than he was that season, Hojlund, Rashford and Garnacho are currently no better than he was that season and probably worse. On current form he's better than they are.

The likes of Rashford, Sancho and to a lesser extent Garnacho not tracking back to help the fullback got very tiresome especially when our fullbacks and defenders would get hammered for not performing better, but I do think there is a slight over exaggeration in the level of vitriol towards some of those players with not doing enough defensively overall. Haaland doesn't press, I dont see Havertz particularly pressing, there are attacking players doing well at other clubs that don't do much defending and dont get that stick. We've just had our fanbase convinced by teams and managers who have the idea that everyone needs to press right from the front and that it will solve all of our dissappointments on the pitch. But there are other ways as other teams and players have shown, for most teams its okay if you are scoring and creating goals as an attacking player and sometimes a bit light on the defensive work for the team.

How's his application at Chelsea?
