Genius strategy by Woodward and ETH. Sell Elanga with all the right skill-set to live with PL - pace, stamina, hard work, dedication, motivanion, productivity - on about 30k a week for measly 15mil pounds fee. Sign chubby, slow-ish, physically weak, unprofessionall, balloon inhaling idiot regularly late for training or often not even turning up for morning sessions Sancho - 70mil+ transfer fee on 250k weeks wages. The damage ETH (and Woody) did to this squad should be open to criminal investigation.
Ole was in charge when we signed Jadon and that was all Woodward’s work anyway.
I’m also not sure why you are mentioning Elanga? Most fans at the time weren’t that sad to see him go. He is in a run of form at the moment that many quick players (Walcott, Lennon, James, Adama) go on where they look better than they really are.
If Elanga sustains this for the following 2 seasons after this one, we can say it’s a mistake selling him. But ultimately the mistake was ever signing Sancho to begin with.
