Not a right winger?
AWB + Greenwood who almost always cuts in makes for a very predictable right side.. all our attack still comes down the left..

Madness he didn't start the game when he was coming good form. Only player who played with any pace today and caused Everton issues, shame he only had 33 minutes when the team looked beat.

He did well today. I love the way he can just get past a player so easily. Some decent link-up with Ronaldo as well. There's definitely a lot more to come from him.

I felt the same. He seemed to really grow in to the game and started getting success I felt. I actually thought it weird he was taken off and not Greenwood who looked quite leggy to me.

I do think he maybe needs to try and commit to taking more people on if he wants to make something happen as to me he’s not even attempting the things he was doing at Dortmund.

Even better today. One of few trying and managing to make something happen when outnumbered. Greenwood did the same first half, but faded like last time. Sancho looks like he’s growing into it.

Yep, let's swap the player with 50 goals in 150 games for the one who's 4 years older and has half as many goals in almost 300 games because he's looked alright in his last handful.
Only one of them has justified a £2m price tag so far.

Much much better today. His best game this season, and that's really an encouraging performance.

Good 30 minutes under his belt, looked more confident both dribbling and passing and linked well with Ronaldo, should have scored though, it would have been huge for him and the team.

Thought he was alright when he came on cursed him for that last effort though so tame..

VDB fans ..

this is what it looks like when a player has some form of impact when coming on.

I know they play in different positions but sancho created a few moments out of nothing when he came on atleast, good signs.

Can't believe we wasted 70m on this guy. Yeah yeah, give him 6 months and all that. Mark my words, we'd be struggling to sell him 3 years down the line.

Ole's burnt through a hell lot of cash to only make the team worse than last season. The manager is taking us behind and some are still defending him.

To be objective Van De Beek frequently comes on (when used) after 80+ minutes after weeks or months of inactivity which makes it much harder to make an impact.

Pipe down. VDB isn't a winger. VDB has done his job better than anything we've seen from McTominay whenever VDB has been given a chance (twice) this season. VDB also is up against crap like McFred whereas Sancho has far stiffer competition so don't even try and use this as a reason to not play VDB.

I have been very underwhelmed by him so far , but I thought he was decent today and showed signs of how good he can be for us.

But the international break comes at the wrong time again , he needs a consistent run of games not this constant stop/start with momentum gone again.

Thought he looked really good today when he came on. Has to get a run of starts and he will be great.

I worry when Rashford is back, Sancho will become a bit part player. In Oles head, you have Rashford, Greenwood, Pogba, Martial, Sancho and Lingard playing for 2 positions.

We are so overstocked in certain areas it's unprofessional and just sheer mismanagement from the club.

Yeah agreed. He started going at people driving inside and things started to open up for him. One of his strengths has always been finding that pass when he has draw people to him. That slipped ball to Ronaldo that is what he’s about and needs to start doing more of.

Again promising signs that the real Sancho is almost here.

He is getting better each match but when Rashford is back he's going to be spending a lot of time on the bench.

Numbers don't lie, we clearly have a great, young talent on our hands. The slow build up play we've seen this season is really not good for his game. A new manager will get the best out of Sancho.

We need to stop blaming the players and start looking at why they are playing how they are. I see criticism of Varane ( a guy who has excelled at the highest level, and Fergie wanted desperately as a teenager). We have no direction, no system

Sancho and Varane are just settling in to English football. People on here need to chill out.

He finally looks to be clicking and in fairness to his previous outings we aren't exactly functioning as a well oiled side. We played probably some of the best football of our season today since Leeds and he shines.

WTF? He’s barely played 6 full games for us.

Better, much better.
He’s not that quick, I thought he was faster, but he had quick feet.
Choked with the chance he had at the end but overall he effected the game much more.
There is a player in there somewhere hopefully he gets a run now

United fanbase is embarrassing sometimes

He's getting there. Looked confident today. Taking payers on and making things happen. Had two weak shots at goal, scuffed them both. Still some way to go, but he'll come good.

Can't believe you wasted your time posting in this thread. 6 months and he'll be winning us games on his own.

The bar for "really good" and "impressive" has never been so low.
It does feel as if people are forcing their praise, doesn't it? I thought I must have underrated him watching from the stand, but I'm still the same having rewatched his second half. Out of the three wingers who played today who signed for their clubs this summer, you'd struggle to tell who was available for a free transfer, who was sold for less than £2m and who cost somewhere between £70m and £80m.
