He's struggling to make major impacts on games at the minute. That's not entirely his fault as the entire squad is wildly underperforming.

I'm not going to write him off as a flop like some here are however. That's would be a huge overreaction. I'm quite certain that he'll eventually become a great player for us. His ability on the ball is pretty obvious.

There was a moment in the 95th minute of the game where he received the ball on the touchline, skipped by two Newcastle defenders with excellent dribbling and looked to play a pass into the strikers for a final goalscoring opportunity. He was let down by Cavani who was stood in an offside position. That ment sums up the team, and Sanchos time at United as a whole. Fleeting moments of excellence, followed by a poor error when it really matters.

He’s hardly lit us up this season, but there have been games where he’s looked our most threatening player whenever he’s had the ball and we just don’t give him it.

I don’t understand it. Him not looking even half the player he was whilst at dortmund is just symptomatic of what United are at the moment.

We look rudderless and it’s hard to see where the improvement is going to come from. We make every other team look brilliant whilst our “world class stars” look like the the ones fighting relegation.

Regularly manages to find space for a cross whenever he's on.
Would like to see how he does on the left more and with Cavani in the team.

He needs to play, his first thought is to be progressive and try to initiate something to break the opponents defensive line, which is fecking non existent elsewhere in the squad at the minute.

He needs us to act like a proper fecking side, get up the pitch and sustain attacks and have players to link with. God knows what he’s thinking about our performances.

I have to say the Lingardian period is one of my least favourite in living memory.

I think if we played an extra midfielder in Rashfords place we’d win the workrate battle more often and win the ball back a lot faster and get it forward more effectively. Play breaks down with Rashford all too often. I don’t think playing a 4 3 3 would hurt at all.

Not sure why you brought Rashford up, is this some Rashford vs Sancho nonsense? You can list on one hand players in form for us and have fingers to spare, Rashford is amongst the absolute worst though despite start after start.

Because it's very relevant. Everyone wants Rashford dropped for being crap this season (me included) but this guy isn't any better. In fact 2 goals and 0 assists by end of December is utterly tragic.

There's so much hypocrisy in this fanbase. People saying Sancho is playing well when it's blatantly not the case. New signing bias everywhere.

Neither deserve to be in the team with the way they've played. I'd give Elanga and Amad a chance. Can't do any worse.

His passing is particularly worrying the amount of times he messed up easy passes for someone of his ability was very weird. Would be interesting to see his game by numbers because can't remember him beating his man either.

What style is that then? We aren't even settled on it yet so unsure what you're on about.

Looked quick tonight, but fumbled with the ball. Certainly much quicker than Mata in his prime ever was. Closer to Sterling levels in terms of acceleration, but he lacks top speed for those counter attacking 50 yard runs.

I think he will come good, or even really good.

I think we have a big problem in terms of our squad balance and players like Sancho/DVB are suffering for it. We have players that like possession based football and like to create space/attack with quick interchanges and short passes. DVB/Sancho/Martial/Shaw?/Amad/Pogba would suit this style of play.

Then we have more direct long forward passes type of players that like to attack with speed on the counter, or with crosses/dribbles from the wide areas. CR/Cavani/Rashford/Bruno/Greenwood suit this style of play.

We always seem to start with a mixture of both styles and we end up looking all over the place.

A lot of his tricks and flicks aren't working against Premier league defenders, and his lack of explosive pace means he's limited in how he can penetrate unless he's got space to attack a retreating defender. No excuse for his sloppy passing tonight though.

I think everyone can see there’s a top player in there. Today was pretty good but you can see he’s still playing within himself - like Henry said. When that stops and he comes to terms with being a United player he’s going to be some player.

Going by what have seen of him in Dortmund, he has still really not shown what he is capable of so far. He seems to be playing with very little confidence in himself. He is far better than this and needs to realize that and back himself a lot more.

the 4-4-2 doesn't suit him at all really.

You can see everytime he gets the ball and looks up to link up with a team mate, but the 2 strikers are just standing there.

The few times he did some good work was when Shaw overlapped and bought him some time to pick out a team mate.

I'm sure he will adjust but you can see he's so used to playing in the Dortmund system our lack of natural movement confuses him.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt this season. He’s got the tools to be one of the best in the league but he’s got a ways to go. I think he’d be more dangerous if he got the ball on the left closer to goal a bit more often and was more selfish. That far corner finish is definitely in his locker. If he gets confident and starts hitting them early he’ll be a menace. Creatively and physically he seems a step too slow this year. He’s going to get better it’s just a case of how much
