If Sancho has an excellent Euro's then the price will suddenly go up.. If he doesn't then the price will stay the same as what Dortmund are currently asking.. which is less than last year.. The only thing in our favour at the moment is that a bidding war hasn't started which Dortmund thought would happen last year but are hoping happens this year.

The price they demanded is "fair enough" last summer, but it'll surely be lower than 90m + 20m in add ons. Not a chance at that one IMO. Something like £80m total I'd expect to be the final sum. Maybe toss in 5-10 in unrealistic add ons.

Or not. Inter are asking 80m for Hakimi but PSG and Chelsea are offering 60m, this is how it works. I believe we will get this done but it is not so urgent that we need to instantly capitulate to their demands, particularly as we have a few cards in our favor. They need to sell a player this summer, Sancho wants to go, they don't want to sell Haaland and we seemingly don't have any serious competition here. If we get to pre-season without agreement then we have an issue but otherwise just chill, we are 20 million apart and if we end up meeting in the middle we have effectively saved almost the entire projected fee for Trippier.

I think the bold part is true for most transfers and most clubs, but remember the BBC reported our £70m offer for Maguire in early July 2019 and the deal wasn't agreed until early August!
