All signs point to Romano not being anywhere as close to this deal as he was in the past or likes to pretend he is.
Or most deals. He’s flown too close to the sun; enjoying the limelight too much that he posts vague tweets about virtually every deal in Europe to make it seem like he knows what he’s on about.

I 100% get why he never shuts up, I just wish people would stop fawning over every tweet he makes.
I agree. In fact anyone could do what he does. Why isnt he called out for all the wrong ones he tweets about.

This saga is officially embarrassing now. It should end yesterday. Either United progress it the way transfers usually happen, or flip BVB off publicly and move to alternative targets. Sancho is not the only good RW in the world. We're a right laughing stock in the transfer market.

Look out for the solar eclipse this morning in the northern hemisphere around 11:00-11:30 BST, this is called the "path of annularity" and marks the Sancho season of speculation. Going to be a huge day.

Your post is embarrassing to be honest. It's quite obvious nothing is happening before:

a) his involvement in Euros end
b) we unveil a new kit with a new shirt sponsor

He’s a bluffer just like his pal Di Marzio. He’ll obviously have some inside knowledge on certain deals but every summer these guys reach almost celebrity like status with muppets constantly tweeting them 24/7 looking for updates and news they feel the need to comment on every potential transfer even if they’ve no clue what’s really happening. He’ll get found out soon enough like Di Marzio did a few seasons back.

See this shit does my head in. Say the fee is 90m, and the wages, over 5 years, plus bonus and signing on fee reach another 90m, which is not unreasonable. That's a £180m investment. That £180m is roughly a third of our annual turnover. You think that sort of money and that level of investment can be knocked out in a couple of days? A normal business investment of that magnitude can take months to work through. Its not a joke, its not embarrassing, its serious fecking business, and it takes time. Give your head a wobble, grow up a bit and have a bit of patience.

On the contrary, nothing is obvious at all. United are quite good at 'briefing' when they want to. It doesn't take much control the narrative and not look like you're living up to a bad reputation. There's smooth transfer operators all over the place. It's not reinventing the wheel.

I'm quite grown, thank you, and neither does my head need a wobble. Of course I don't want it done in a couple of days. I know how serious business operates. But said serious business can be done smoothly, even if it takes time, without giving the perception of floundering. Why is it we envy clubs who conduct their business so much more smoothly? I'm not trying to be petulant, I'm wishing my club were better operators in the market. I doubt anyone anywhere holds us in much regard transfer wise at the moment.

When you put it that way it makes sense but then you realise all the wages and signing on fees etc would be spread over five years as well and most of the transfer fee would be spread over atleast 3 years maybe major chunk upfront and it suddenly comes down to less than 10% of our annual revenue per year not that daunting now is it .

But over all not that concerned about the pace of the deal or negotiating part at all cash flows are bit of a mess for all the Club's so you can't fault United to try to get the best deal either.

You know it's a good sign when you load the caf and see the top two threads are the Sancho one and the Transfer Tweets one.

fecking #development though

Literally cannot understand what you're saying here. What smooth transfers are you talking about?

We won't sign a marquee signing now that all the attention is on Euros, nor before he can hold our new shirt, for me it is obvious.

Something I have never understood maybe someone can correct me on:

A transfer window is a time to sign the contracts and physically sign a player, why don't we do 90% of our negotiations during normal season and complete the final 10% and sign the player early in the summer, especially when we have Euros in the summer.

It would make us look more efficient, less rushed, is there something I am missing?

Things do get done sometimes but it'd be because clubs don't want their best players to be involved in transfer discussions mid way through a season and already off in their head

Can't they theoretically negotiate a deal about a player (In this case we know Jadon is up for the move) but the transfer could be discussed pending the players approval. How many players after a club agrees to sell them and negotiates a fee both sides agree with don't want to move?

Ok. Let's say Utd sign Sancho tomorrow. It could happen as I think the Glazer's need to demonstrate some good will to the fans. If that is the only signing, would that be enough for this window?

How do you know its not being done smoothly? Is it your own expectation of United so bad that you assume we're groping around in the dark chucking out random bids and basically looking like muppets? You may not want to be sounding petulant, but you are coming across that way.

We've signed 3 young right wingers under Ole already. Is Sancho really our priority this summer? Let's say we get him for 80 /90 mil. Is that really the best use of what probably is limited transfer funds? I think 50 mil on a dm and 50 mil on a cb would be much better for the team.

No chance we need a CB and CDM those two areas need players who can go straight into the first team, no more players for the future. If we want to compete in the league next season we need those two areas.

And spend another year complaining about our right flank?
We need 3 signings at least: RW, CM and CB. Get us those 3 positions sorted and may be our furious fans would get off Glazer's back a little bit.

I woke up this morning and said to my wife, is it Thursday babe?

She said no, it's SanchON day motherfecker!!!!!

Nope, we need a midfielder and CB too, probably some competition for Wan-Bissaka.
