So, when this signing finally happens, what does it mean for Amad for the new season cos to me he looks good enough to be a starter?
Loan him out would be an option. We are definitely not be able to give him games after Sancho arrived.

That's not entirely true. It's dependent on how he impresses. Rashford will have surgery so will be missing to start. It's possible Sancho plays on the left and Amad gets minutes on the right. Similarly, it's possible Greenwood starts up top. He, unlike Cavani will have not played internationals so might be our best option up front to start the season.

Amad should go nowhere.

Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford and Amad are great options to have for the 2 winger positions. With Martial and Cavani at CF.

Sell James.

Martial will be fit too and won't have played internationals. I'd bet on Greenwood and Martial being important at the start of the season, and then the rest depends on fitness with these tournaments.

You can add Sancho to the list considering that he has barely played 5 mins thanks to Agent Southgate.

I think a good pairing at centre-half with McTominay learning the trade would work. I'm not suggesting using the system against the very top teams but against teams who use low blocks. It worked with Scholes/Carrick and Scholes/Keane who were hardly specialist defensive midfielders.
I’d really prefer us getting a proper good CDM then McTominay if I’m being honest, I just don’t rate him as a starter.

Theres no chance for that to happen, unless we are playing lower league in some cup games.

Sancho can play multiple positions -- all across the front 3 incl Bruno's. Amad will be afforded time & space to integrate.
He already has limited game time even with just James ahead of him on bench last season. Realistically how many games will he play if he has Sancho instead of James ahead?

He's 19. We will need squad depth. Amad is similar to Sancho in that he can play multiple positions. Has good vision, fantastic ball control and creates spaces. He seems to track back more than Sancho but that's based on a small sample size.
In a couple of years, we will find ourselves with an abundance of playmakers (incl Hannibal The Elephant) and speed demons in our attacking options.

Amad joined us, in january, as a 18 year old from a foreign country. He doesn't speak English and relies on communicating via other players, needs time to adjust and learn. It's not much of a surprise that he didn't feature much after joining us, so i have no idea how anyone can go on about "limited game time with just James ahead of him". Did anyone actually think he'd go straight into the starting lineup the moment he got here?

Ideally, Amad will be introduced into the lineup more often in the coming season, take part in the league cup matches, FA cup depending on opposition, League matches depending on how he's doing. It's a non-issue.

Best case, Amad will be ready to start plenty of league matches a year from now.

As he develops and refines his game the manager will be more comfortable starting him. It's not just about numbers and competition but also his level as a footballer which if he's got the quality will rise over time.

Nail on the head.

Sure, but his game time will be on the expense or shared among other players such as Rashford, Greenwood and Sancho. I just don’t see Ole willing to do so, as both are young, English and are his favourites, and Ole does not tend to rotate his key players. Should Pogba stay he would be preferred on the left sometimes too, which would further limit Diallo’s game time. And assume we sell Martial in future there will be surely replacement who should be better.

Any this would be order of our priority for front 3:

1. Sancho (RW, LW)
2. Rashford (LW, FW)
3. Greenwood (RW, FW)
4. Cavani (FW)
5. Martial (FW, LW)
6. Pogba (LW)
7. Diallo (RW)

Whatever we say about Rashford in terms out output in the league only Son and Salah were ahead of him, proper world class players.

I think Rashford will kick on next season, he may even find himself playing upfront especially if we don’t sign anyone else.

———————Rashford———————
Sancho——-Bruno——-Greenwood
———Mctominay————Fred———

I hoped we could get rid of Pogba and Martial and Bring someone in like Grealish to give us that strength in depth and really power and drive in attacking areas.

We can get Grealish but Ole will need him to work harder which he won’t have a problem with.

You hope to get rid of Pogba to play McTominay - Fred midfield ... with Rashford up top ... then go on to say we can get Grealish :wenger:

Not been in here for a while - is this still just speculation or is there anything more concrete yet?

Sancho is out shopping for pen to sign the contract. Any min this will be a done deal.

Let's be open minded. You never know, we can have injuries, Pogba may play more in midfield (he looked good at LW but I don't think he has enough penetration and end product), Greenwood may play more as a striker, Rashford might need surgery (?). We look at things as they are now. Management has to have an eye on the next 2-3 years. This is probably Cavani's last year with us too.

That’s just a scenario, we do have a squad and Fred/ Mctominay were our main pairing there last season, Grealish would contribute a lot more to our team than Pogba ever has.

Grealish, Sancho, Rashford, Greenwood, Cavani, Bruno.

Pogba was playing on the left a lot when he played, we’d be replacing him with a far superior attacking player in Grealish.

We also have Martial and Amad.

Neither our squad nor our wallets have any space for Grealish. Pogba isn't even linked with anyone.

Maybe in the 2nd half of next season. He has to undergo surgery for his shoulder and has persistent issues with his ankle. Or has a complete rest to let it heal.

Feck me that team wont even finish in the top 4

So you want to play Rashford as a central striker, despite him not being able to hold up the ball, bring others into the game or lead the line.
You want to sell Pogba and play McFred every game.

If Sancho comes it will be this

Rashford Cavani Sancho

Martial, Greenwood, James and Diallo as backups

Getting a CDM is just as vital in my opinion. If we had a specialist there like Ndidi or Zakaria then we could play one holding with Pogba and Bruno in front.

Dortmund has accepted the inevitable.

The poster is the best giveaway. No way they just decide to go with Bellingham over Sancho, let alone witsel.

Reus and Haaland obvious. Hummels ok, but leaving sancho off before any of the others? Nah.

Well it could be because he may leave.

Of course this will be done soon. We gonna parteh!

I've actually not seen much of Sancho due to not following the German league. He's not even been given much of a consistent run for England over the last few years to have watched him much for the national team.

I'm basing my trust on the Caf experts of his perceived greatness.

agree, but i'd argue the famous "you love it see it" meme was pretty risky if we decided to stump up the cash last window. This feels, like the reports are suggesting, that Dortmund are looking to do the deal.

From making memes about him staying to "make sure he isn't in the promo's" makes me feel just that little bit happier.
