Oh Sancho
Well you came
to the Euros without playing
But our stance didn't change
Oh Sancho
When you sign
Well you'll stop us from sucking
And we need you today
Oh Sancho

people seem so caught up on whether or not sancho is worth 80m that they have forgotten what impact this kind of outlay might have on our owners. imagine if they had to go with pre-dessert for a whole year just to finance this deal. what happens if they have to get a smaller helicopter to the grouse shoot? it doesn’t bear thinking about.

What's a pre-desert? Isn't that just a field or a forest?

I would love to see it... Sancho signs for us before the England v Germany match.. It would be a dream if he were to score the winning goal in the last minute of time added on.. which then sparked him into action to do a carbon copy of the goal celebration Emmanuel Adebayor did for City against Arsenal..

It seems like this is a done deal. I expect an announcement a day or two after the Euros is over for England.

That's because its a double negative . As an English journalist you would think he knows how to properly construct a sentence, yet here we are.

It's perfectly fine, not an uncommon turn of phrase at all - even in professional writing and/or journalism.

I sang that to the tune...

... which I know because my wife or sister or someone keeps playing it. Not me though, no way José, I'm more of a My Chemical Romance sort of guy

Pretty much also Sancho seems only to want United.

Exactly this. Sancho’s a really down to earth guy with strong ethical values. He’s alluded to before the importance to him of playing for a club with history and not one that’s just trying to buy everything like a City or a Chelsea or a Liverpool. He’s got a good head on his shoulders.

Night and day difference from now to last summer when UK papers would report one thing only for Dortmund and the German press to bat down every report.

Everyone seems to be singing the same notes across the board this summer and there's a strong feeling of inevitability rather than uncertainty, regardless of the impatient negative nancy's in here.

Going to be a great day when we finally get our man after some 1400+ pages over the last year and a half :drool::cool:

How do you know his ethical values?

Hopefully we've got a well structured deal that will give us a chance to focus on other signings for the remainder of the window. That would be my only concern because if we have blown our load on this then it's very risky. It's important because he becomes one of our best players and allows Greenwood not to be glued to that right hand side role.

However, I do think CM would have just as big an impact. CB maybe slightly less so, but still an area of big improvement. Personally I'm a bit more worried about our strikers than many seem to be, maybe because I just don't see Rashford and Greenwood as strikers.

Looks like waiting a year has saved the club €30m.

Is that good or bad though as ya know we've had him for a season less than we could of. Is not having him last season worth the saving?

Maybe if we'd paid the extra 30m we'd have another European trophy in the cabinet now which is well worth it. Penny pinching never helps if the player is good enough to impact you like Sancho will be

If we lost out on the CL last year we could've made the argument (CL brings in ~50M Eur or something like that). Maybe we would've won the EL with him but they'll probably see it as reasonable savings.

Maybe if we'd just been less.....well shit, in the final, we'd have a European trophy

Tweet aside, was this the bloke that had some sort of issue with United last year? I can’t really remember what it was but he went on a radio show and had massive rant about something which was United related
Julian Laurens had a bit of an issue with the media building us up after beating PSG 3-1 in Paris. He was on radio saying that we actually didn't play well but PSG made mistakes which flattered us.

He wasn't wrong but he seems to be bitter

He's a big PSG fan, so whenever United tend to overcome PSG, he tends to attack United. Plus, he works for ESPN, so he tends to be more of a sensationalist as a result.
