I’m not immersed in Western media, my sources are BBC, Al Jazeera, and major newspapers like FT or Washington Post (example). I don’t understand why is everyone claiming Sancho is set to United? Yesterday, I saw Stephen Howson YT video with “Sancho deal in hours” headline. He was just reciting some bullshit. Lost respect to this guy. Another Goldbridge. Why do they have so many followers?

Difference is Howson admits when it's come from an awful source and is not to be trusted. Goldbridge acts as if he's got insider knowledge all the time. Of course they use clickbait headlines, that's the game.

Eh it's clickbait, its Youtube, he clearly stated in the video the source and even said himself it was questionable and why he went with that video title. I'm surprised people still get riled by that sort of thing in 2021.

I would understand if it was a single video. It’s not. It’s a policy. They just make shitty content and people watch it. There are a lot of good channels on YT like Tifo, Norman, Statman Dave. They don’t feel they have to feed crap to people to increase audience.

They're equally clickbait when it comes to transfer news.

I remember that idiot Goldbridge in a video talking about the Sancho deal being done all excited as hell. Just another fraud.

Clickbait videos make money so people are going to exploit it, that's business. If you don't like it then don't go on youtube, or unsubscribe from the channels you don't like.

It's not cherry picking. Who are these great international team managers right now? Genuinely curious. Or the last world cup. Or the last euros. The majority of cases are managers who couldn't get good club jobs for one reason or another so go to rebuild their reputation with the national teams.

As for the players, nah. I'm not disagreeing that it's a huge honor to be an international legend. I'm saying that being an international legend doesn't mean you are a great footballer at club level. You play non league or lower league opposition far too often for it to hold much relevance. You don't play with any system (or a very different system). You might be Slovenia where you had 2 world class goalkeepers in Oblak and Handanovic but mediocre players in the remaining 10 positions on the pitch. Games take place over years and a manager might make his mind up just because of other players in the team having better chemistry from club level. It doesn't mean shit. Unless you though Gerrard or Lampard was better than Scholes, Parker was better than Carrick, Cantona not being anything at international level, and so on... the list is endless of great players who did nothing at international level.

If you’re going to be a truly great player you need to do it at club and international level. No debate.

Genuinely find it remarkable how badly Goldbridge pisses people off. Think he's quite a funny character, who knows exactly what he's doing. He makes money off the worst part of this fanbase. Monetised muppet and extreme fan idiocy.

Alright I guess Cantona, Scholes and Giggs weren't great players? Or all the players from smaller countries who never got to do anything. Aguero being incredibly mediocre for Argentina. Messi failing to be successful with Argentina. And so on.

There is a debate, and it's one that has been shown time and time again for years and years to prove very little relevance to club level. Sure, if we're talking about a players legacy, it means more to have done it in International football. I'm not disputing that. But as a predictor for actual performances at club level? Means feck all. Genuinely feck all. So many players who showed up in the world cup/euro group stages with a few goals and got overhyped before getting a big transfer and doing nothing. feck, even for Bosnia, Besic got himself a transfer to Everton because Martinez loved him at the world cup only for him to look mediocre as he's a mediocre player whenever he played in the league or even the championship on loan. There are countless examples of why International football is a lower quality setting that is irrelevant as a gauge of player ability and how they'll play for a club, and a completely different world to club football.

It's going to be done shortly after England are out of the Euros, I reckon. Anything else, is just filler, IMO.

Cantona was actually pretty good at International level, France was particularly disfunctional at the time though. Which I guess supports your point.

Sort it out ffs. Are we gonna wait another 2 years to the next bid?

I am all for being patient but this transfer is ridonkeydoodlous

Big hi rio do u want picking up in the morning pal day today

All the players he mentions were part of either weak teams or dysfunctional setups. But I agree, Cantona was good for France.

Like I said. They both use clickbait, like they probably should. Difference is Howson admits the sources are crap, Goldbridge tends to pretend it's all insider info that he's got.

The ones who perform well who weren't anything special at club level were the inverse too, players who played in good set ups and teams who just lacked depth in a specific position. Point is that often times international managers get it wrong when they have a lot of options to pick from (Gerrard vs Lampard vs Scholes, Carrick being ignored, etc) as they're usually not very good managers. And I really don't see anything to suggest Southgate is a good manager. People using Sancho's exclusion from the squad to mean he's not as good as the attackers above him... does that mean that Trippier is also a better left back than Shaw or Chilwell?
