Do you think he has that in him to do that to his boyhood club who gave him his big break, personally I can't see that happening myself but have probably said the same about other players in a similar position and been proved wrong before.
You lot are financially stable but a player kicking up a fuss would quickly disintegrate your upcoming season. Also, if Grealish has any sort of ambition, he will push for a move. If he doesn't, then he probably doesn't have what it takes to succeed in a high pressure environment. He will seem happy to remain a big fish in a small pond. Nothing wrong with that, but want a player who is ready to push to prove himself at the highest level. So speculation and more wishful thinking then.
Assuming Villa do intend to sell, I'd imagine they'd want to do it as quickly as they can. But that doesn't mean they should lower their asking price just to make it happen. If United want to drag it out, that's on them.
Like I said, being financially stable gives Villa a strong hand. They don't need to sell. But if y'all are serious and make an offer in line with what they value the player then it might be on. Assuming any of this is even true of course.

50 million is a fair price isn't it. Based on his achievements in a weak team I think at a club like ours he would improve again such the quality in players. Sadly this is very much looking like a close book for us now..Think that will only be possible if he goes to an open war with Villa.
Can still get you Bruno Thiago or Partey. Not every good player costs an arm and a leg. I can actually see him replacing Silva at City.Abnormal back when 40m got you the best player in the world maybe.
Besides, which upper tier club would sign and guarantee him starts?
Would you want to be the main man at Villa with all the pressure and attention on you all the time? With the best shot at glory being maybe the Carabao and avoiding relegation every year.
Or go to a club like United (who you are a fan of) and be part of this project, play a decent amount of minutes in rotation and fight for the starting lineup when players have offperiods like Bruno and Rashford recently. And even if you just have a medium game there are loads of other stars at the club to take all the critique and attention off you. Likely make a lot more money as well, plus become a more wellknown name. Might actually improve his chances at a England cap as well, if he can play well at a high level.
So speculation and more wishful thinking then.

He would start ahead of Foden if he was there. That's the pointThey already have Foden to replace Silva.

From Villa's perspective it's similar to Maguire. No reason to sell, don't need the money. It's not just speculation though is it? Your own manager is resigned to him wanting out and has stated himself he has no idea if Grealish will still be a Villa player.
Also we won't drag this out because we aren't desperate for him. If Villa are asking for a stupid price (and £60-80m is a daft price), we will simply walk and pursue our other targets. The risk on Villa is that you piss off Grealish who quite obviously want to move on from the club. That's going to be toxic for you and barely affects us as we move on to other players.
Villa (and their fans) seem to be looking at this like it's some sort of Harry Maguire situation when it obviously isn't.
He would start ahead of Foden if he was there. That's the point
It's not the same though, because Leicester knew we were desperate and without alternatives. Plus it was us and City in for the player. That's why they were able to just ask for a stupid fee on top. From Villa's perspective it's similar to Maguire. No reason to sell, don't need the money.
Hopefully he does. But how much effect will thus actually haveIt's not the same though, because Leicester knew we were desperate and without alternatives. Plus it was us and City in for the player. That's why they were able to just ask for a stupid fee on top.
With Grealish we 1) aren't desperate for his positions and 2) have alternatives we can pursue. He's not a top target.
As sellers Villa are within their right to ask for a stupid fee but the ramifications are more on them than us. Keeping a player yet another year longer than he wants after a dream club comes calling is going to be toxic for them. I'd be surprised if Grealish himself doesn't push for a transfer in a few days as Sancho gets wrapped up.
Not a chance. Foden is class. He would start ahead of Foden if he was there. That's the point
Hm, tbh don't think he'll go that far, unless they make him miss out on many big club opportunities. If he doesn't get a movie this season, i think he'll be happy to stay for another year but in general I don't think he would do that to his boyhood club.Do you think he has that in him to do that to his boyhood club who gave him his big break, personally I can't see that happening myself but have probably said the same about other players in a similar position and been proved wrong before.

Probably £10m too high still, but issue lies in selling clubs not looking to ask for a fair price, they look to make the most of it.50 million is a fair price isn't it. We move on.........
Just can't see it falling through with Sancho. Signs are so positive it's only about agreeing a price. Sancho wants it, we want it. Let's get it done.Probably £10m too high still, but issue lies in selling clubs not looking to ask for a fair price, they look to make the most of it.
Only way i see this deal happening is if we fail to bring in Sancho and we panic buy him much like Maguie last summer.
One of Grealish's primary attributes is his ability to hold on to the ball, dribble a bit and getting fouled. Those skills are precisely what's needed in our team at the moment - we easily lose the ball when other teams press aggressively e.g. against Southampton. Having an outlet like Grealish will negate one of our biggest weaknesses at the moment. Further forward, his ability to get fouled will create a lot more scoring opportunities through free kicks & set pieces where Bruno & co can capitalize on. I see him as much more than a squad player if we are able to get him.
Good posts. It is to be fair. Like Hazard they know how to position their bodies between the ball and a player, then when contacted they time it perfectly to go down. It's no coincidence he's won the most fouls in the league by far. Yes his style contributes to it, but he wins fouls all the time by getting people to try and nip at the ball while he's carrying it.
I think Grealish's style will help us a lot more in European style football where it's slower and possession is paramount.
Insane money for someone not proven at the highest level, he’s clearly a brilliant player and I think his swagger would be great in a red shirt.
I don’t think we will sign him though.
£55m tops.
We overpaid for Maguire, but it was pre Covid and Maguire is a England international who just the year before had a good World Cup.
So people want us to spend 50m on a player that can't bench Foden
Only player that would come in to bench Foden is Aouar. Foden would give him a run for his money, and he could end up benching Aouar too. However, it would be a waste to have 2 similar talents there. It wouldn't be fair. Not a chance. Foden is class.
The guy also walked in as captain. Money well spent, same with AWB.£55m tops.

I can't see Ed spending more money than he did for Bruno for a player that is likely to be rotationFor 50-60 million, if we sell Sanchez, Lingard and Perreira for a total of 30-40 million pounds, we should be using that money for Grealish. Get both Sancho and Grealish and we're sorted.
Get ready for 3-4 different reported fees once its doneIt's starting to make whatever deal we strike for Sancho seem quite cheap.
