I would absolutely love him.

Brilliant little player and IMO technically one of the best in Ligue 1.

He does look Fantastic. Auoar's skills just jump out at you. IMO he looks a cut above Foden. I have a feeling that whichever big team takes him will be getting a top top player.

Worth about £50 million, if we get him we'd probably pay £60 million as we like to overpay. I would baulk with surprise if even we paid £70 million or more for him but maybe, we did with Maguire

I thought he’d end up at City this summer but honestly he’s probably my favourite Ligue 1 Midfielder by a mile. I know everyone is going mad for Camavinga but Aouar has the touch of Iniesta for my liking.

Yea they'd definitely be doing him a serious disservice if they're serious about that valuation

Aouar is a cut above Grealish...absolute gem

If they have billionaire owners then he really wouldn't be a loss would he? :wenger:
You would think  , they could afford an adequate replacement at least.

Really don't know why they'd throw away the goodwill they've built up with him by holding him against his will after all his years of service for them. Allowing him to move for a realistic fee would be a fitting show of appreciation

80M quid for Grealish, what are Villa smoking! When prices for what is a squad player (for a top 4 team) go to 80M, you know the market has gone mental.

I don't think it matters for Villa's valuation, on what the potential buyers would use him for.

How to force your captain to hand in a transfer request: Hold his contract to ransom.

its all bravado and trying to sound they are not a feeder club :)

in all honesty, Jack and the management probably had a good sit down during lockdown and was told give us your best and keep us afloat and we will let you go end of season.

knowing how modern footballers are, otherwise it would have been tools down and oh gaffer i cant play today, my nail is too long today..

getting relegated was not an option for villa - the money they have spent on this team - with the football leagues financial fair play they would have fallen foul again...

Have you even seen him play? All there is in this post is rather basic numbers.

Stats are for losers. Do you not have an opinion of your own?
This is the dumbest post in a while. I gave you my opinion. That is that it's worth looking at an alternative, and that I would be fine with either player. I put down numbers to draw a comparison in value for money for our depth piece and to see how they differ.

I've no idea why you believe stats are for losers. They're just there for added context.

Villa nearly sold Grealish to Tottenham 2 years back for a lot less. They're just chancing their hand to try and milk us for as much as possible.

I'm sure a deal will be found for around £50m which is still a great fee for them IMO.

If the price of 80 mil is true then walk away. Try Donny, Aouar and If they want to spend 80 mil might as well try Havertz.

I'd pay 40m tops and walk away if they can't accept. Grealish will 100% kick up a fuss to make it happen, and no other club is going to go for him for £50m let's be honest.

Honestly Villa have no firm ground to stand on outside of being financially stable. Their player wants out, there are likely no interests for £50m let alone £80m in this environment and they risk a destabilised dressing room or a delay to their own transfer business if they feck around on this.

It's not like they're Leicester and can sit out the whole window firm on a stupid sum knowing we are desperate (which we aren't) and that they need not buy to replace as there's a replacement in the squad (which villa don't. Theyl need time to buy).

£40m or feck off I say. Then move to VdB.

Agreed.

I think we will get Sancho sorted first then try to pinch Grealish towards the end of the window. Make Villa sweat a bit and they'll give in IMO.

Villa fan forums think £80m is too little.

We have built ourselves a reputation of caving in on negotiations for English players.

Grealish would be a good place to start getting it right.

Have we? Maguire was overpriced but even then we still got £10m off Leicester's asking price.

I'm not actually sure we've even signed that many English players over the last few years anyway, the only ones I can think of are Shaw, Maguire, Grant and Wan-Bissaka.

While I know the £80M price tag is bollocks considering they just sacked their Sporting Director, it does make me wonder about the Leverkusen price for Havertz.

At this point we aren't desperate like we were for Maguire, so we can be a lot more patient.

Sancho is the golden goose, Grealish is a great player but you could find similar elsewhere. As others say DVB from Ajax would be a decent alternative.

I mean its fine if they want to demand 80m. Its the Palace route with Zaha. Premier League sides just don't need to sell their best players, regardless of what the player wants. If the player doesn't force a move, they'll keep the player unless a crazy offer comes in. We need to be smart with our business, and Grealish for anything over £45m wouldn't be smart. Get an alternative to be the squad player to cover/rotate with both Bruno and Pogba for less elsewhere, like Van De Beek.

There are plenty!

Surely a defender who is exemplary in one on one situations and tackling in general is the prerequisite quality you look for in any type of defender. Current fashionable tactics deem attacking fullbacks a preference, but if they can't defend for sh*t then that becomes the primary problem over how well the player is going forward.

As for the bolded part, that's all well and good but when our squad is all fit he doesn't get into our starting 11, so that's all ultimately irrelevant because something is only worth what a person is willing to pay.

He could be made of liquid gold, if it doesn't ad appeal to the buying party then it means little.

He won't move for £80 million. Because he's not worth £80 million to any buying club.

Personally I see Villa selling for close to £55 million and I'd be very surprised if they didn't sell him at all. He wants a move and they need to add depth and strengthen in multiple areas.

No, not at all. Wan Bissaka excels in one aspect of defending, overall he is not a particularly accomplished defender. He is fairly clueless in general.

Villa are not actively trying to sell Grealish. I have no idea why you think they would show more consideration for United's (or any other potential buyer's) circumstances than their own? I'm not saying he will move for £80m, it just wouldn't be surprising were his club to place such a valuation on him. It would be similarly unsurprising if no club paid that.

I think Grealish has a mix of skill, determination and leadership qualities which Ole clearly looks for - I can see why he likes him so much.

Obviously it's not always possible to get every option, but I think Woodward will try his hardest to help Ole get the club back on our feet. I think Grealish will push for a move, these rumours have been going on for a while now so I wouldn't be surprised if they already have some sort of agreement. Grealish pretty much said "only god knows" in his last match interview and Dean Smith pretty much said it'll be sorted within a month, but "we want shitloads of cash".... let's wait and see.

Offer a package worth 60, if they say no tell Grealish' camp that he's going to have to force this or it's a non-starter

I know there are times Sky have been very wrong about transfers, however there could well be some truth that it's a choice between Grealish/Sancho rather than both of them.

He’s going to fall out with the club and hands in a transfer request very soon if that’s the case that Villa are pricing him out. He isn’t the type of character who will meekly accept what he gets i feel

Aouar is also fantastic off the ball with tremendous work rate.

There are so many good players in a similar position that we can get for much cheaper. I'd love Grealish but forget him - that fee is ridiculous!
