I’d struggle to part with half that amount to be fair. He doesn’t even improve our starting 11 ffs.
Yeah that is exactly how I see it playing out because Grealish will be a much more complicated deal than VDB to do

That is an insane fee and there is no way Villa are getting that for him.
What a joke. £80m should buy you a guaranteed experienced starter or a potentially world class young player. Not someone who helped keep a relegation candidate afloat with 0 caps and a questionable attitude.

We should not pay anything over £50m for him. When someone like Van de Beek, who is younger and arguably better, is available for £40m, we'd be stupid to waste time and money on getting him.

Grealish is way older. People don't seem to be thinking about how many years we'll get out of a £60-70m fee but I'm sure the club is consdering it.

Older but not old. And I didn't know that a 21 y.o. RB suppose to be more expensive than a 24 y.o. CM/ACM. Similar profile, and the later is a leader as well.
I think he'd be great buy if we can get him for a fair price, around 60 million. Him and Sancho, and we'll have an incredible options for years to come. But Sancho should be a priority, and after that a CM.

We will see over the coming weeks but still expect this to pick up again after Sancho deal gets all sorted, whether it will result in us signing Grealish or opting for the easier deal in VDB I couldn't call it right now

AWB is a top RB of the league, was 21 years old and English international. He's a top 3 english RB at least, and thats counting TAA who is a phenomenom. Grealish is not even top 5 in his position.
That’s ridiculous and you know it. Lots of crap players have international caps and have played in the CL for poor sides. Doesn’t mean a thing.

Fred is 27 and has only played 11 times for his country, that tells you something.
One is a starter and the other will be expected to come off the bench. He's also nowhere near as good, relatively-speaking, as Wan-Bissaka.
To top it all off, we have a different financial climate and there's also cheaper options who are arguably better. Arsenal are scoffing at paying £50m for Partey and Van de Beek can be had for less with less hassle.

We would be absolutely stupid to spend 95m on Sancho and 65m on Grealish. Especially Grealish who plans on warming on the bench.
I don't really believe those prices bandied about. There is no club in the world that will pay 80m for him, nor 65m. Zaha seems to be available for 40m - while only a year or so ago they were talking about +100m for him (or something ridiculous).

and of course players who have been bought previously have an effect on prices today. It’s not exactly linear but there’s clearly an influence. You are all over the place with your comparisons.
I just think he is very capable of making that step up to the next level and reckon we could see an even better player than the one at Villa because he would have more talent around him here. I also think he realises there will be competition for places and is more than ready to accept that challenge in fact he will relish it in my opinion. I could see him making a real difference in important games and definitely strikes me as a leader on the pitch.
Grealish is nowhere near as good as Wan-Bissaka - did I read that right? Relatively speaking, Grealish is a better player and it is not at all close.
I agree he's good and might add to the team but the money being mentioned is a bit stupid. We also have glaring holes in CDM, RW and potentially CB (especially if one of Lindelof/Maguire gets injured) which need more immediate attention and we know we do 2-3 deals max a year. Sancho is one, so I'd prefer we get a CDM or two other easy deal.

There being other quality creative midfielders and a comparative lack of quality right backs in the league doesn't make Wan-Bissaka a better player. Grealish is closer to the top two in his position than Wan-Bissaka is in his.
