I wonder whether it would be beneficial for Dan James to go out on loan somewhere next season
Stick him in the Grealish deal I'd rather give Chong his minutes tbh.

Look I'm not opposed to signing him, but do you honestly think he comes straight into the team ahead of Rashford? I don't think he's close to Rashford's level. He and his calves would take Rashford's spot and act as a backup for Bruno when needed.
We paid £53 mill for Fred. Grealish is a much better, consistant player. Unless Villa go down they will want £70 mill and probably £50 mill if they do go down.

I think Grealish would be one of the first options off the bench/onee of the first to come in if we have an injury, but I don't think he's better than any of our attacking 5.
I don't think relegation will alter the fee too much, i expect he'll cost about 50 million.
People underestimate Rashford no end on here, Grealish would get plenty of game time not necessarily on the LW.
Would like him at the club, has the ability to go past people and dribble through the middle, which can break lines, and then he is a great slide rule passer too. Think he would be good as a number 10 or from the wing tbh. Would be a great squad option and to keep everyone fresh you need quality on the bench.
Fingers crossed.Hopefully Ole feels the same way about him as well
I don't think they'll be relegated. Looks as though Watford players stopped playing the previous game and they need a result at Arsenal. There are number of players on the fringes who need game time and would be a good experience if they went to a side like Villa.I wonder whether it would be beneficial for Dan James to go out on loan somewhere next season
How is he going to get plenty game time when Bruno, Pogba, Rashford, Martial, Greenwood & Sancho on form? He's going to sit on the bench fighting for his spot with Fred & James.
Fingers crossed.
Despite the drink driving charge and partying early on in his career, he also seems a good lad too, so would be good for the dressing room.
The same way City' top players get games, we rotate regardless of form so we can compete on all fronts and not make it all the way to an FA cup semi final absolutely burnt out and turn in an appalling performance.
How much you rate his talent anyway? Is it really that high which we can't let him go to another club? Is it even higher than Havertz?
What makes you think if Ole will play Grealish and bench Pogba & Bruno who are on form right now in important games? I can see he does this in mid season for CL & cup games but not during the last 5-6 league games when every single one of those games are important. It's pretty much what is happening to Fred right now.
I rate him quite highly. He's performed at a pretty decent level at a team who have struggled this season. Yes, he had a dip of form, but that is to be expected from a person who is heavily relied on week in week out to produce the goods, but as I said, more often than not, he has performed, and we saw that against Arsenal, which shows how strong his mentality is to step up when his team really need him.
Regards benching Pogba and Bruno, I never said Ole would bench them. Obviously, if the two are playing well then they start, but having someone like Grealish on the bench against West Ham to bring on the other day could have made a difference, and I believe that if we are to bridge the gap between ourselves and City/Liverpool, then we need to have those options.
We need competition for places.
If there's any method to Ole's selection madness at the moment it's to prove this. We have a starting 11 that's pretty damn good but we need quality in depth. Grealish can provide that and possibly more.
His ball retention skills are very good and he would be a big improvement in that regard for sure and would give us options.
I also don't care about his drink driving offence because we all live and learn.

I think I'll come down to what Villa want. If the price is deemed to be excessive then Donny will be riding into Old Trafford via Amsterdam. The big question is will Ole feel the same way about that though
You are comparing Bernardo Silva and Gundogan with Grealish mate.
Bernardo Silva level is not way below David Silva & Mahrez, he is on the level that capable to bench the on form Mahrez & Silva. While Gundogan's level is not any different with Rodrigo.
Do you really think Grealish is on the similar level with Bruno, Pogba, Rashford, Sancho & Martial? In my opinion, Grealish is way below them and he won't even get more regular spot over Greenwood if we sign him.
Fred is a good player who can do the job for United midfield and he's not comparable with Bruno & Pogba, that's why he rarely start when those two are on form. Grealish will have the same fate as Fred. Unless if we sign someone like Thiago Alcantara, I don't see someone on Grealish level is good enough to bench the on form of our main 5 plus Sancho.

I didn't compare anyone
Grealish could play for us just fine, he could play for anyone he's an excellent footballer.
You clearly make a comparison with City top players situation with Grealish situation if he joins us. You wanna elaborate that to be clear?
Any good players can play for anyone but if not every good players can get enough games time over players who are way above you. Fabregas couldn't get enough game time over Xavi & Iniesta. If we don't have Pogba, Fred would have been our regular player right now.
I don't get where you're going with this.
Are you saying we should be signing better players than Grealish to sit on the bench? If so, who?
I can't really be arsed to elaborate other then i think Grealish will play plenty of games for us to a very high level at number 8/10/11. If he was in the squad now he would start the next game for one of Bruno / Pogba / Rashford who were shit last game. It's healthy competition and keeps players on their toes knowing there's genuine quality waiting to take their position if they don't play well.
Fabregas played plenty for Barca also - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesc_Fàbregas

If he was in the squad now with Sancho, he wouldn't start the next game because Sancho will start the next game instead of him. His status is pretty much the same with Fred. A good player but not a player who can bench Pogba & Bruno in important games.
Fabregas played more in front three than midfield with Barcelona and he got plenty because David Villa got long term injury. Fabregas didn't bench Xavi & Iniesta in important games.
Yes he would play the next game for either Pogba or Bruno as they were shit last game and are clearly knackered.
I don't care about Fabreagas.
No manager is going to start Grealish's quality over Pogba & Bruno quality in the final game of the season that determine the top 4 spot. This is not mid-season, it's the final game of the season.
Grealish is a quality player, lots of managers would play him as he has match winning abilities.
Do we exclusively only play finals? I’m confused.Lots of managers would play him but no manager would play him over KDB, Pogba & Bruno in the final important game.

And the quality wouldn’t have been anywhere near as good, Grealish is much better than Fred. The point about Grealish discussion is that people were moaning about us overplaying Pogba & Bruno so that means spending 50m-70m on Grealish is necessary.
But we are overplaying them because we are approaching the end of the season where our remaining games are like final games. Fred would have been rotated with Pogba & Bruno if this is still in mid season.
