Is Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez the Premier League’s best ever front three

Numbers wise no. Versatility yes.

This front 3 could dominate in any era. Athleticism, street smarts, technical ability, tactical flexibility and moments of magic.

Fair enough, I should have said best front two partnership. I don’t think any front two in PL history betters the Yorke-Cole partnership.
Yeah Cole & Yorke for me. Funnily enough I think Arsenal’s best front 2 was Wright & Bergkamp some of their combinations were amazing. Henry thrived most alone. If you look at Bergkamp best years, and most memorable moments at Arsenal, they were up to 1999.

I preferred Saha over Tevez and thought we played our best football with him leading the line with Rooney and Ronaldo alongside him. My memory is bad with these types of things but I think in 06 we played some excellent football with those 3. I always felt like Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo was a “better on paper than in reality” situation.

I would say that mane, firmino and salah were more consistent, but when Rooney Ronaldo and tevez did click, it was as unplayable as it gets.

It has to be Yorke-Cole and either Sheringham Solkjaer as best ever. No other front three scored more than them in a season 99-00. 97 goals

Maybe he just wasn't built for looking after himself but I always wondered how different it might have turned out had he exerted the same amount of effort that he always put on the pitch on his out the pitch upkeep.

feck knows should have said top 4
I mean, I don’t think you can really consider them as a front 3, was almost always 4-4-2 unless we were chasing. What you can say is that maybe no club has ever had 4 forward at the club as good as those 4 were?

I think Henry- Bergkamp-pires/Ljumberg was very formidable.

Agree. Smoking and drinking didn't help. If he only he put in a little effort off the pitch, I wonder what could have been. He didn't need to ever put in Ronaldo level of time as he was naturally more gifted. But he seemed more interested in destroying himself health wise off the pitch. You could see it catch up with him. By 25 he was done at the top top level.

Rooney-Saha-Ronaldo was the best in my opinion.

Saha just had terrible luck with injuries. He was a class player and he had pretty much everything you'd want in a lead-the-line forward.

Maybe. But all my “woow” moments with Bergkamp, both individually and in link up play, came before 00. Could be Henry just took the linelight and highlight reels post 00

Up there with Vidic and Cantona as my favourite ever United players.

The funny thing is, we could literally play Rooney in any position bar maybe CB and he'd still be our best player.

He could play CB too, if he wanted to. Same height as Martinez.
