Sometimes he goes missing in the games, sometimes he misses easy chances. But very rarely he displays flaws in basic things like first touch, positioning, body limb awareness that welbeck had. He sometimes hit the ball too far and run for it and misses it completely but generally all the basics are there. So he will only get better, i hope. Onwards and upwards
22 years old, carrying the responsibility of goals for Manchester United, without creativity behind him. Is humble, hard working, insanely talented and never stops backing himself. Always turns up in the big games and has already scored a wide variety of goals.

I said earlier in this thread I didn't think he was ready to be the main man at United yet, but he's slowly becoming that.
He's so much better off the left than he is through the middle leading the line. I'd be fine with him in the middle if he was playing off of someone, but he can't lead the line.

You can't resist to make a dig on Jose, do you? Fair enough, i do that sometimes on Ole or Lingard so i understand but you are not right here. Jose started with Rash on left wing and gave him minutes and games even when Rashford was really bad. You can find many flaws in Jose's reign but Rashford is not one of them.Ole wanted to play him as CF, Jose played him as Wing back and finally he is playing in the best role, attacking the FBs instead of tracking the runs of FB
It'll be a boost for his confidence to know that Barca or Madrid think he's worth 70-80m.
But he's not going anywhere. The club won't let him, the manager won't let him. I doubt he wants to leave as well - that's the advantage of spearheading our rebuild with a local born academy-bred wonder kid.
I wish I could like your post. Love the lad and same belief that he's on his break through to become a great great player, to be one of the best in his generation.
Btw with the level of his worldwide fame he's already a superstar imo.
What I admire him the most is given his very young age, a superstar status, lot of money, big fame and everything come with it he's still able to keep his focus, his work ethic and his drive to be a better footballer. It's the character shared by all great players.
I sometime even have the feeling that inside he's still exactly the same boy he was when he had his debut, then scored twice against Arsenal and scored the wining goal in his first derby. I love those moments and really love the lad.
Apparently Barca were sniffing around before he signed his new contract, shows how highly he's rated across the continent.
I can't envision any club being able to convince him to leave here, a player of his ambition (who also happens to love the club) must already have his sights set on taking United back to one of the world's elite.

Honestly he's a far more appealing prospect for clubs than Pogba is right now, but there's no chance he'd want to leave or the club would let him go.

I thought he handled him rather poorly, I'm greatful for how much game time he gave him but in terms of his development, he really stalled. In hindsight, the best he ever seemed to handle Rashford and Martial was when he had them hungry and competing for that left wing spot, which he cocked up by signing Sanchez anyway.
If he keeps up this form then he has to be in with a shout for PFA player of the year. Feel like his performances are going slightly under the radar (not by us fans mind) due to how inconsistent we've been, but in the last few months everything good about our attacking play has stemmed from him.
When we create space for him, he's devastating and looks like he will score in almost every game. Having James as a genuine attacking threat on the right has added another dimension to our play. Pobga back in the team should give Rashford even more scope to flourish, breaking from midfield and sucking defenders out towards that area between midfield and attack.
If he can cut out the bad misses then surely he's going to hit 30+ goals this season as a wide forward. Incredible return from a player that last season looked completely lost at times. Highlights how inefficiently we've utilised our best players over the last few seasons.

I was referring to the comparisons with Ronaldo. If Rashford performs at this level over a longer period of time, only then can we compare the two.
I don't like comparing. Ronaldo' s levels are just insane and the comparisons are unfair.

He is hard to defend against: if you try to close him down his speed can get the better off you. If you leave him space, he has a powerful shot on him.

I'm sure he'll hit another abysmal run of form again and this thread will get bumped. He clearly struggles with confidence. However, he has gone up to a new level recently and as he gets older he may get more and more consistent to the point where his form is consistent throughout the season.
I honestly can’t remember the last season where we had at least two of our best players in top class form at the same time. Because of how janky our system and a total lack of cohesion, it’s almost entirely one player playing well for spells, and then another picks up the slack a little while after that. Normally between De Gea and Pogba
Hopefully this run lasts for a good while. He's someone that makes stuff happen, rather than just waiting for it to.
He will thrive with a number 9 that drags centre backs around - some massive, strong bloke that will score a goal if you take your eyes off him for a minute, such strikers need to be marked because if you just defend the space He will win duels from crosses.
He scored a brace to beat Liverpool too, ran riot against TAA at OT. He's been superb against the "Big 6" since his debut!

If (hopefully "when") he learns to vary his dribbling, as in not just run in a straight line very fast and create confusion for defenders, he will unlock another level. The futur is very very bright for him
I think he used to try that, but nowadays it looks like he's leaving his tricks for near the penalty area so that if the defender makes a mistake it's more lethal. Which is nice to see him being smart about his playstyle.
He's won some penalties this season with his Ronaldo chop especially, and it's deadly either way because if the defender doesn't foul or tackle cleanly he can quickly get a shot off.
He's also ran out of the pitch several times. Obviously no player is perfect and I will never expect him to be, it'd be nice to see him rely on more than just pace.

I can't believe the vitriol that the name "Rashy" (inverted commas essential) used to inspire on this forum.
Basically playing like our most senior pro at 22. All the pressure in the world on him and he keeps delivering. Would not swap him for anyone. A legend in the making. We should be as excited about him as any transfer we could possibly make.
Rather be wrong and see a United player do well and my OP spoke about an attitude adjustment which we have seen in spades .. Ole deserves credit for his man management of Rashford. As for trophies, as a club we are still no closer to being a top side.
