Is it time to burst “Rashy’s” bubble?

Erratic but shows more frequent flashes of brilliance. His finishing will get there over time, I'm less concerned about that so long as he's not our sole striker.

He's cut out the daft attempts from 50 yards at least. That's more indicative of a arrogance problem than anything. He should be burying more of these recent chances but it's reassuring that he's getting in the right positions and creating chances for others too.

He is close to finally click and become an outrageous player. We need to be patient
Yeah just a few tweaks to his game and he will be some player. Just wished he could play with his head up a bit because I think he could have a bucketful of assists.

Great season so far.

Agreed. Never a leading the line type of striker for me and his finishing will get better.

I still remember the time people thought the same of Stirling’s finishing

So frustrating. Don't care how many 3-4 worldies he will score per season, it's criminal when he misses sitter after sitter. Would rather he focuses on his basic finishing and compusre than try for on eof those wonder goals. He will go down as one of those with immense talent but won't fulfill it.

He probably should have had his second hat-trick in a week today, but actually has none. That's the difference between him being a good solid Premier League player and a world-class player.

Exactly what I think too. He is still young, it's exciting to watch him I gotta say at times.

We’ve got Andreas to do that now :nervous:

He’s winning me over. The arrogance is being channeled in the right way, he’s working very hard for the side again and he and Martial seem to bring out the best in each other. I for one look forward to this thread being locked for the right reasons.

He could be a top-quality player, but he is being held back by his erratic finishing and his failure to make the correct decision in the box (e.g. not passing to Martial). He could also improve the runs he makes, but he isn't bad.

He is a very good dribbler and is difficult to dispossess (most of the time), and he does have a powerful shot.

Great to see that he is always getting into good positions. That comes with great work ethic and determination. He will score loads of goals if he keeps it up. Frustrating at times with his selfishness and holding on to the ball too long but I'm hoping down the line he can cut that out. Its the difference between him being a quality and good player.

His finish for the goal, and that miss sort of sum up him as a player. Such a talented player who can at times do the impossible, but has lapses of concentration when doing the easy thing.

Having said that, his performances for the last few games have been superb. He's easily been our most dangerous player in every game he's played. Every time he gets the ball something almost happens.

He has cut out some of the brainless decisions in his game, and his link up play has improved significantly, especially with Martial. If he keeps improving at this rate he's going to be one hell of a player.

One of the only United players that will get you out of seat, and can be a joy to watch at times. If he keeps up this level consistently he's going to have a brilliant season.

His finishing lets him down, he’d be world class if he was more clinical in front of goal. Scoring bangers is fine but it takes the shine off things if you then go and miss an open net.

It's not just his finishing that is frustrating. It's his passing also. He could have easily made a few passes to create excellent opportunities today and each time he either missed his man, hit it too hard or it was intercepted. In my book he has to improve both aspects of his game.

His runs are exciting but I rarely feel they will result in something. If they do I'm usually surprised.

Think he needs to be deployed on the right wing when we are either comfortably winning games or against minnow teams, so that he can maybe start getting better with his decision making to pass more rather than just trying to do it all by himself when he's cutting in from the left.

He played loads of smart passes today, including the pass of the game to Pereira in the first, in my opinion.

Much better recently now that he has realised he can pass (particularly to Martial) he misses SO many easy chances though that he will never be a top striker (see Welbeck) but played from the wide he is doing ok.

9 goals so far, matches Salah and he really should have three or four more.
He's on the cusp of something special, just needs to remember he can finish

Honestly seems to be following a similar type of development to Sterling.

I can see it clicking soon.

He has had flashes like this before, my worry with Rashford is he is a confidence player.

When he is low in confidence he becomes absolutely useless, but high and he is extremely good.

Having a good run now and looking confident. However his finishing is summed up on that last chance today. Practically an open goal! So frustrating to watch. He is easily capable of 25+ goals this season but needs to bury those. Keep up the good work though! Looking frightening!

Can't wait until this guy turns in 23 & has consistent games in one position to build upon.

Once Greenwood becomes a starter & we have a left footed RF - I think he will make his game much much more better aswell.

Yep. Well said.

He's got 21 goals for United in the last 12 months, so I wouldn't say that's similar to "flashes" that he's had in the past. and on that form he's already not far off the 25 goal a season rate...and you have to factor in he's in a team that creates very little for him.

He's also improved a lot in that period. He's doing things this season that I've not seen from him before. Powering past opponents when in the past he'd have been knocked off the ball.

I think people just need to relax a bit with him and not worry so much about the things he isn't so good at. People mention Sterling and Salah as examples of where he should try to get to...both of those players miss bucket loads of easy chances every season. It hasn't stopped them being fantastic players.

I was a bit worried this season when he had those 4-5 really poor perofrmances in a row, but his good performances this season have really been a level above what we've seen from him until now

I realized that Rashford had 21 goals for us in just 12 months. If he had the ability of Vardy's finishing, he'd have at least 2 hat trick right now in a month. I think it will come with experience and improve his finishing.

I remember Ronaldo was like that when he scored a lot of great goals then miss many sitters. Once Ronaldo sorts out his finishing in tap in, he just exploded. Hope to see same thing from Rashford when he sorts out his finishing.

People forget he is a very young guy still.

He is a local kid coming through our academy and is supremely talented. We are very lucky to have him and his potential is huge. When he sorts out his finishing we have a potential world beater that is a product of our academy. If that is not exciting I don’t know what is (in football terms).

I'm not sure his finishing will ever be a strong point.

I think it's unfair to say he doesn't work on scoring the simple goals, because he is getting in the right positions, which means he is working on it...he'll probably get a bit better at finishing them but I think he'll always miss his fair share because it's just part of how he plays.

I don't think it stops him being able to become a top player though. Again you look at Salah or Sterling who play in similar positions. Both have similar tendencies to miss easy chances. Salah in his first season at Liverpool would have scored 50+ goals if he didn't miss so many sitters.

If Rashford gets 20+ goals this season from a wide position it'd be hard to be too critical of him, particularly given his age. It would put him already up there with the best attacking players in the league.

Always find it amusing when I see him compared to Welbeck. Welbeck even on his best days wasn't this effective.
