And the words “allegedly” and “apparently” are doing a lot of heavy lifting in your second paragraph. It sounds exactly like the sort of fake news these far right scumbags like to share on social media.

I went and had a look at the comments on the community watch pages. These people are using this alleged incident as a smokescreen to try and get some sort of public protest going.

Usual guff you get from these sorts on social media.

We cater to a lot of different nationilties, whatever people's personal opinions are that's for them, but as a football club we can't be seen to be linked to the likes of that. And especially not when you have to go through the local FF & FG councillors and TDs for grants etc..

Grants aside it’s a shitty vibe for young kids to be around. Must be some proper wrong ‘uns pulling the strings here. Are you a club in the DDSL?

Just a question, I'm on my local football club committee.

Recently, there was an incident in the local area, allegedly two males tried to get 2 young boys into a car, specifically mentioned is how these two guys were apparently asylum seekers. These kids are also suppsed to be members of the football club.

This morning, we get a message asking us to promote a post on the club social media about a public awareness meeting, to promote public safety for kids and the elderly and all this kind of stuff etc.. but littered in there is stuff about asylum seekers, Ireland leaving the EU and a load of other bullshit.

I've dug my heels in and just said, no way should the club be linking themselves in anway to that kind of nonsense.

Am I right here to say no to this?
Did this actually happen? The reason I ask is because the same type of allegation has been shared around my kids school twice, via WhatsApp and the local community. Both times the police came back to say that it was false allegations.

Because of the school being an educate together school and therefore very diverse (why we picked it in the first place), and the community around the school having a lot of foreign families it’s a dick move by the scumbags

We're in the NERL.

I agree for the kids including my own I don't want them to have to be in fear or walking to school, my daughter is 9 and for the last 2 years she's been walking home the 10/15 mins with her friends. They need to have that bit of independence, I don't want to take that away from them.

I can understand people have concerns and whatever they do on their own time and social media is up to them. I looked at some of the comments linked to these pages, we can't be linking the club to that shit.

I don't know if it did actually happen. One of the first people I saw mention it, I know is a total bs merchant an absolute weapon. Gards have been involved and one of the messages I saw actually named the boys as well. But, even though that is the case, it may or may not have happened.

It just annoys me that these people try to use these incidents to drive their hate through fear.

These scum are everywhere driving their toxic narratives.
The other day I saw a post regarding a bunch of Muslim ladies who had raised a lot of money for a kidney disease charity. Within 5 posts someone had posted a link to the attack in Austria. In my opinion people should be charged with spreading hate speech when they do stuff like that
