Irish Politics and stuff.

Digiweb seem great, no issues with the service and they actively tell you to ring back next year to get the new deal. 1GB fibre that is 35 quid a month and only goes up to 50 after the deal anyway. Customer support is in Dundalk and barely any wait times and they're very helpful.
I second this.

Digiweb.

They're fantastic.

And their customer support actually support you.

My wife had an issue with the WiFi when we moved and the tech guy on the phone knew about an obscure Mac issue that causes it. Very impressive.
Looked them up and they seem decent. 1000mbps for €37.95 a month (for the first year obviously).

Anyway, rename the thread to "Irish Broadband Chat."

Should the taoiseach visit the orange man?

Yes.

Aside from any consequences for Ireland from the US, the noise from European leaders at the moment is all about trying to diffuse the Trump/Zelensky spat, with the likes of Macron now calling for calm, respect and moving forward.

In that context, Micheal Martin deliberately deciding to create another spat with the US is unlikely to be well received.

Trump doesn’t give a shit about Ireland. It’s much better for him to continue to not give a shit about Ireland. If that means the Taoiseach sucking it up and smiling beside him then so be it. Needs have a must.

The orange man is such a petty, thin-skinned wanker that cancelling the visit could have serious negative consequences for Ireland. So he basically has no choice.
After Zelensky debacle, I'd be personally wary of visiting. What if Vance and Trump start insulting Zelensky in front of your leader. The way Vance slammed Biden's policy is not something you do in public meetings with foreign dignitaries. What if they attack Ireland over supporting palestine. From, what I've seen from this US administration, they do and talk for their domestic consumption (and only their conservative base) and they don't mind being confrontational and blunt. In fact their base loves it. You should be prepared for anything and every scenario.

Obviously I'm not Irish, but very, very fond of your beautiful country.

I too don't want to lose my job.

We don't matter enough for Trump to go after us.

Him chastising a big political figure and wartime leader like Zelensky will have made him feel big and earned him points with his idiot followers. He won't even be bothered about Martin. It'll probably be a picture with the bowl of shamrock, 5 minute chat about the rich history between the countries blah blah etc before Trump leaves to make his tee time.

This is exactly how it will play out

Probably for the best we fly under the radar given the unpredictability over there

Also probably a good idea to let him keep thinking we are part of the uk and not in the EU
