Been listening to the Old Sea Legs album a lot lately.

The lighthouse is an absolute fecking tune.

Fits my situation perfectly right now too.

Cheers

Ditto dude, ditto. I actually messaged Ian the other day to complain about how real it is.

Hope you told him to never cheer up:lol:

Anyhow, hope you get through it mate.

Ooh. Interesting. What’s that like as a venue? I’be never been there. Decent location for an 11 year old girl’s first experience of a live show?

I don't think you'll get her in to be honest. Fairly sure it's strictly 18+ but check with them.

It's a cool wee venue though. Very intimate.

Alas, he's a very happy chappy most of the time. Has a child on the way so I think he's over whoever The Lighthouse is about

I had a tangle getting my 15 year old into Whelan's last month. If I was a ticket holder and not on the list it defo wasn't happening.

Good to hear!

Hope everything goes well for him, seems like a very likeable chap.

Who was that for?

Also @Pogue Mahone, I had a look there and both Biig Piig shows are sold out unfortunately. I imagine she'll be back next year though.

The new Lankum album is sublime. Radie Peat is a generational talent.

New Nordie post-punk band Chalk are exciting.

Half-Malaysian, half-Irish. Yuné Pinku is class. Supported Biig Piig there this month @Pogue Mahone.

Gurriers have a great sound but I worry they may have missed the boat on that kind of music being successful.

New Ailbhe Reddy album out last week is a gem.

Brother in-law was over recently and introduced me to Ding Dong Denny O'Reilly, which was an experience. I would post but is slightly NSFW. Animals are Bastards being my personal favourite.

I see Kneecap further up this thread. The little I have heard of them is really good. Got chatting to some lads at Electric Picnic last year who were excitedly telling me about this amazing band, then got worried about recommending them to a Brit  If only they knew of the wife's love of a rebel tune, especially around St. Patricks day

Their best album yet, and that's saying something.

Have just ordered tickets for December to see these guys and I actually can't wait. Been waiting for a tour for a long time now.

The kind of shite I made this thread to get away from...

Well, I finally found a man who makes me happy ;) Nathan Carter. Seen him twice now and rewarded both times with two hours when I didn't stress or worry about a thing. Brilliant performer - and how many stars do we see standing near the exit of a venue, chatting and having pics taken with anyone who wanted one - a mini meet and greet with no charge.

Well, I'm glad that I could help lower the tone  I'll get busy checking out the sensible suggestions in the thread.....

New solo stuff from Fontaines DC's Grian Chatten is very good.

I'm considering going to a small festival for experimental music later this year purely because Lankum are playing. I missed them last time they were here.

Loving his solo stuff, like a more folky Fontaine's, his lyrics are so poetic.

Nice, where's that?

In Aarhus, Denmark. A few hours by train from Copenhagen so not too bad. My wife's a big fan of Lankum so it could be a nice weekend away.

Sounds good. Enjoy.

New one from CMAT. Tis good fun.

Just announced her second album which has a track called Vincent Company on it. Unsure how to feel.

Ah, Christy :(

The worst part of family get togethers is when the acoustic guitar gets brought out after a few drinks and you've got to sit there and pretend to enjoy the pissed old men singing old Irish folk songs.
