Internationals September (Nations League + Friendlies) | England RELEGATED

They aren't shite either. We've got a plethora of attaching talent though yet play a back 5.
I agree that Southgate isn't utilising our attacking players well enough. Even if he was, I would worry about our defence and midfield. I just don't think it compares to other elite teams.

Saka has been really good.

There’s zero chemistry between Kane, Sterling and Foden currently so that should be broken up. Bizarre that Southgate is still experimenting with his best side when he’s had the job for fecking years.

England showed they can be pretty destructive and self destructive at both ends. Should be a fun WC!

Neither of these teams will win it, entertaining last 15 mins though.

Who have Brazil and Argentina faced of note in the last few years, besides the latter facing Italy in a glorified friendly?
I get your point but it's not like Uruguay or Chile are total pushovers.
Certainly not worse than Hungary, Denmark or Switzerland who Spain, France, Germany and England have all lost to.

Harry Maguire has inspired yet another performance. What a man.

I can't argue with you there. But we should at least try to be a bit more attack orientated. And why hasn't he called up Sancho?

To be fair haven't those 3 looked his favourites for a while? I expect most of this lineup is what we'll see with Pickford to come back in.

England's best chance of doing anything in the world Cup with Southgate would probably be Rashford on the left and Saka on the right, then Rice, Bellingham and Mount through the middle probably. Get Tomori next to Stones or White, Shaw and Reece James as fullbacks, and you actually have a side that is well suited to counter attacking. If TAA finds form again then maybe push Reece into midfield, but yeah. Go attack minded countering, not whatever the feck Southgate does. Southgate needs Rashford and Saka's pace more than Grealish/Foden/Sancho's abilities IMO.

I used to think this was true of Germany over the last 4-5 years, but I'm giving up that delusion.
We lack a great striker and we lack great fullbacks.
Our squad isn't top 5 in the world right now and arguably hasn't been since 2014.

What in the world, just looked at the score , switched off at HT because didn't want to fall asleep so early

I pretty much agree with all of that.

Agree with you here. Play to your strengths. Set up to play quickly on the break at pace. England tore Germany apart in that spell where they were front foot and shifted it properly. It can only be Southgate and his approach.

Mount is overrated. The best 10 England player is Maddison on stats. I would play one of Foden or Grealish on one side and a pace player on the other. Or play Foden as the 10 with 2 pace players out wide.

It's criminal that they play so passively given the talent in the team.
