Internationals September (Nations League + Friendlies) | England RELEGATED

England are set to go five games without a win for the first time since June 2014. - BBC

Did I imagine Pope was being lauded for his kicking ability not long ago? He's been shocking every time.

Regardless of how poorly we've played overall, you have to say some of the touches and control of Grealish, Foden and Bellingham are amazing.

Southgate spell at England is the national football equivalent of ole spell at united, talk a big game of attacking football but are clearly cautious tactically, have gotten by on man management and good vibes with little tactical nous and have slowly been exposed as terribly out of their depth

Pope has the best chance of scoring in this game, strong gust of wind and hope Donnarumma falls over

Who do England realistically even go for now as their next head coach since Potter has now gone to Chelsea?

Constantly going for glory. Still haven't forgiven him for not squaring it in the World Cup semi final.

Himself and the England set up, often feel like they are trying to bump up his goal numbers.

Rosendori or whatever has been the only impressive player on the pitc..

It’s really bad. There’s no development in this team.

On a related note, can't believe Hungary are winning the group

1-0 down and Maguire not even looking up the pitch for the possibility of a positive pass, just giving it to his CB partner. Thank feck we have EtH.

Don't worry he will be available again before the world cup when he says no to boehly idea of playing 11 outfield players

What on earth is Southgate doing.

Picks a squad of his mates who aren't playing at club level because they aint good enough. Yet somehow thinks they will turn up for the national team!?

Plays 3 at the back for 70 mins which isn't working from minute one... Only changes after we go behind so doesn't even have the courage to standby his convictions... Abandons the plan as soon as we go behind.

Get him out, wasting this squad.

Shaw did the same, I was about to post it but thought it too harsh.

If players aren't playing regularly for their clubs, don't pick them then.

At this point its not the players IMO, England has a history of having great players but shit managers.

Sven, McClaren, Capello, Hodgson, Southgate.

Sven squandered the best XI we've had since 1966, McClaren speaks for himself, Capello just wasn't a good fit, Hodgson is an average manager, Southgate is below average.

Getting a modern, good coach through the door would help, but we tend to pick the wrong managers continuously.

Players go from playing modern football at club level, to dinosaur tactics at club level. In fairness to Italy, at least Mancini won a premier league at Man City, and won a Euros with Italy.

Capello had the best win % by some margin, problem isn't the players, England generally has a good XI that can go deep into tournaments, the problems the coaching staff IMO.
