Wasn't that the Terry Butcher bloody one?
Nah Butcher had retired by then. His was in 1989.

It wasn’t comfortable. England were dominated by a not very good Italy side for the whole of the second half. That’s my point. It’s basic enough. Feels like I’ve repeated it way more than I should have.
Except they won so it was more of a potential shart which turned out to be a referees fart misallocated.
I wait to see the new application on time wasting rigorously applied across the board.
not.
If being dominated is not having a to make a save in 45 minutes of football, half of which is with 10 men, fair enough. It was as comfortable as I’ve ever been playing Italy.
you’ve been watching too much of Ireland mate.
Yeah I Googled it, he retired in 1990, and he wasn't born in England wither which I had forgotten!Nah Butcher had retired by then. His was in 1989.
Shaw’s first yellow card was extremely harsh. The sending off didn’t really change the pattern of the game though. Which had completely flipped from the first half long before Shaw got his second booking.
What is all this about my poor country . We are awful and we know it.If being dominated is not having a to make a save in 45 minutes of football, half of which is with 10 men, fair enough. It was as comfortable as I’ve ever been playing Italy.

No that was against Sweden back in 89.Wasn't that the Terry Butcher bloody one?
England were very impressive in the first half, they could easily have been 3-4 up, second half was poor but Italy weren't that good and didn't really threaten the goal muchThe parts I have seen in between the darts were nothing impressive from England. So nothing new really
The guy never gets injured so is always available yet he never gets rested either. He literally has the most minutes in the top 5 leagues than any other player and the crazy thing is that includes keepersBruno gets subbed at 90th minute and they were leading 4-0. So stupid
It was an early qualifier for a competition in the future. What has happened to international football? There used to be a time where I’d be bouncing up and down right now with my heart racing. At the final whistle, I just thought “Cool, when’s the next premier league match?”
When was this?! United was always bigger than intl footie for me, to the point where I wanted players to fake injuries so they could be ready for Fergie
Probably put bets on the opposition....gamble responsiblyHow did England lose a final at home to this Italy side.
Peak Messi free kick masterclass.
5 free kicks - 2 saves, 2 crossbars and a goal
As some have pointed out it was actually a draw and not a win. However we still qualified. I remember a Christian Vieri header right at the death which went wide by the narrowest margin. If you remember that then you're fecking old because it was in 1961

Mate from the outside, you are a fiend on the Arsenal thread for some strange reason, clear agenda, but whatever.nah @DomesticTadpole and I both noted he was not very good.
I was expecting more than an accurate corner if I’m honest and him being ‘heavily involved’ in someone missing a sitter.
No agenda here. Just a working set of eyes.

Phillips and Grealish were both far worse, particularly the latter. I think for Saka to have one of his quieter games yet still be involved in all key moments of the game says a lot about him. Sadly, Maguire was involved in all of Italys key moments. I hate the OTT flack he gets, but this performance summed him up.
Rashford replacing Grealish will make a big difference to this England side.
Phillips was so far off the pace, he was being outpaced easily. Maguire made the error fir Italys goal but apart from that he was average. I'd like to see Rashford, Kane and Saka play together. That might be fun.Mate from the outside, you are a fiend on the Arsenal thread for some strange reason, clear agenda, but whatever.

Good. He needs a rest. Beckhamdino is overrated who would have thoughtI reckon Marcus would have scored a couple last night. Grealish has got to be the most overrated players of all time.
I have read the forum for some time. I just find it funny that you don't admit your issues with Arsenal/Saka last night. England have some great young players, half the team were not great last night and you call out Saka who contributed more than most. I admire Saka a lot, as well as Rashford. Both of them have had such unfair criticism in their careers at different times. Two of the best in the world getting grief off basement dwelling inter-dweebs.I find it more strange a Bolton fan has taken so much issue with me (and others I might add) suggesting Saka was poor. Not only that but you’ve been noting my posts in the Arsenal thread and suggest I have an agenda for giving an opinion.
You seem to omit my post saying I hope we see Rashford Kane and Saka playing together as it’s something we haven’t seen yet and I feel it would be pretty formidable.
You joined last night and have two posts, both of which are in this thread, complaining about Saka being criticised and complaining I’m a fiend in the Arsenal thread. Interesting for a Bolton fan!
The irony here is it seems to be you who has an agenda…
Yep, I never said it wasn't a penalty.
The ref was talking to England players from the middle of the first half about slowing the game, I'm all for yellows to back this up.

I don't care for Arsenal, don't particularly like/dislike them. We have had some run ins with them in the past, in the Wenger years. I hope they win the PL as it would be a huge achievement and a victory for fair play, but so do a lot of neutrals.
He was poorer than most would have been expecting. He is not playing with his usual teammates and it would not have helped that Grealish on the other side had an even worse game.If I had an issue with Saka I wouldn’t be championing him playing with Kane and Rashford for England. That doesn’t mean I can’t say he’s poor when I think he’s poor.
You arsenal fans
