Good to see Campbell and Gamarra back.
Yup. Gamarra is at his best in a draft like this.

Well you have anto's vote sealed.
Downcast - that must mean something coming from a creative-genius-lover like Physio.
Yeah, I love it. A setting Scandinavian night sky - shows how much of a long, drawn-out battle that game was given the first 90 minutes were played in bright sunlight - and Schmeichel looking massive before the greatest striker in the world, looking almost sheepish.Nice shot, haven't seen it before
That's me bang to rights - I'm always prattling on about that game.Moby said:The date is 5 June 1985, and in Copenhagen, Denmark have just beaten the Soviet Union 4-2 in World Cup qualifying group 6. It’s quite possibly the very plateau above cloud level when it comes to 1980s football hipsterism.
Yeah Rahn's a good pick. Not a lot of wingers picked so far in fairness, but strong WC credentials.
The same happened during the World cup draft a few years ago, if I remember correctly. Plenty of quality wingers with brilliant World Cup credentials remained unpicked, it was really odd.Yeah Rahn's a good pick. Not a lot of wingers picked so far in fairness, but strong WC credentials.

There he is. Helmut Rahn, great pick Downcast. Easily outshined Garrincha in 1958 and about as good as a right winger could be in a draft like this.(Bar Garrincha 1962 of course)Not only scored 6 goals in 6 games, but he scored decisive match winning or point winning goals in 4 out of the 6 games he played. It is a toss up between him and Hamrin for winger of the tournament, German Dr.Becker went with Rahn but personally I'd go with Hamrin.
Hamrin was the decisive factor against West Germany for Sweden as he got a German sent off, then assisted the 2-1 and scored one of the greatest goals of WC history to make it 3-1.
Not as bad as it may seem from a first glance.
LCB/LB - Erik Nilsson - Team of the tournament 1950
CB - Bengt Gustavsson - 1958 - The best centre half of the tournament was according “Fussballweltmeisterschaft 1958” none other than Bengt Gustavsson.
RCB/RB - Orvar Bergmark - Team of the tournament 1958
LW - Nacka Skoglund - Team of the tournament 1958
Are you turning into EAP?
Am I being bullied here? @Edgar Allan Pillow
White text miss! As long as you're not playing against me...NO.
Mulling over 3 options at the moment. Lot of top quality in the position I still need to fill...
Yeah he was pretty high on my CM ranking list. Had we not gone down the Schweinsteiger route, we may well have had a look at him.Glad that Voronin made it.
So far the team was a really easy to pick as most of my options came through and from tournaments I've watched, same for the last outfield player, but surprised 4-5 still available made it to this stage, which is of course great option to have. Please trust me.
You should do like Raees: do your next pick on Friday and you will no longer have this problem!
Looking forward to seeing him in a strike partnership with Klinsi.Glad that Voronin made it.

There's a striker who had one of the best International tournament displays I've seen and went on to play for Liverpool, let's see if he gets picked.
Can't have an international draft without The Divine Ponytail!
Also immediately thought of that comment!
You were right, Messi's selection seems justified now. Also immediately thought of that comment!
