Iniesta - Is there another? | Announces retirement

He does magical things that make football more than worth watching, there's very few players around like that. To have the ability and composure to perform these close control skills in high pressure situations is incredible. There was one turn where he was being pressed by two players on the edge of his own box and he just did a turn to completely take out both of them and make them look stupid.

You posted it on page 8! Some skill

I thought this was good, not worth a new thread but worth posting.

Barca are missing him at the moment, so often over the past few years he's been the one to drag them through the tough periods.

Amazing, amazing player. I hope some creates a highlight reel from this match of him.

Best player in the World for me, never let's you down in the big occasions either, a simply phenomenal player.

There's nothing better than watching a player beat others, not even by pace but just pure brilliant dribbling and intelligence

I know many won't agree, but I feel he is under-rated.

He is fecking fantastic and rarely under-performs in big games.

Quite better than Kaka ever was imo.

In that second half Iniesta was untouchable. The way he ghosts past players I sometimes wonder if I am in the sixth sense and the reason I can see him is because neither of us are material. Fantastic footballer. Several levels above any other midfielders in the world besides that Xavi fella that plays alongside him. The likes of Silva and Sneijder simply don't even come close.

It's funny the way people go on about how Barca would cope in England. Look at the way Mata and Silva look several levels above, Iniesta would probably just piss himself laughing playing against the likes of Stoke.

He'll take one look at Delap and just

Said in the other thread: He's a short dynamic Michael Laudrup.

And Laudrup was my favourite player bar none when he played.

Imagining Iniesta playing in England for some odd reason makes me think of Chuck Norris jokes...

Andres Iniesta can cut through a hot knife with butter
Andres Iniesta doesn't flush the toilet he frightens the crap out of it
Fear of spiders is arachnophobia, fear of enclosed spaces is claustrophobia, fear of Andres Iniesta is logic

Forget which poster who said this a while back but it is still true: Stoke would be lucky to win a throw-in against barca.

Stoke barely get more than 40% possession against teams like Bolton and Blackburn.

Imagine what Barca would do to them.

He really is brilliant. Far less of a cnut than most of his team mates too.

Agree with the first part but not the second. He is also a compulsive wanker like Busquets, Alves, and Mascherano - always complaining to the referee and rivals Michael Phelps in diving.

Him and Xavi are a level above every other midfielder in the world, bar none - even Silva, Sneijder, etc.

Iniesta has had round of applauses in every stadium in Spain. It's his world cup winning goal that earns him this. Also the fact he isnt actually Catalan might have something to do with it.

I think it's over the top, the genius Iniesta IMHO only showed up after Barca were in command. Now i'm one of his biggest admirers but he was nowhere in the first half.

In Iniesta's last 100 starts, Barca have lost just twice.

Most of Barca were no where in the first half. Only Messi, Sanchez and Puyol were doing anything. The equalizing goal really lifted their team mates and placed so much doubt in Real's heads. Then once the lucky second goal went went in, Real were finished mentally.

I am a fan of Anderson, but when he was on form at the start of the season (and before this season, whenever he has one or two of his good games), some were saying/discussing how he could be our Iniesta. Nah.

I wonder what those who said that were smoking.

Well i'd add Busquets to the list of players who consistently performed for Barca, he was cool all night.

BUt yes i do agree which is why i don't really get the over the top reaction to Iniestas performance. His moments of brilliance were brilliant but in the first half he was losing the ball and a half yard off the pace.

The whole Barca team played much better, how good was Alves? he was brilliant in the 2nd half. Puyol was a monster all game, Busquets was unflappable and Messi was the cutting edge all night, set up Iniestas best chance, 2 for sanchez (one a goal), made Casillas make a world class save, instrumental in the 3rd and killer goal.

I can't tell the difference between him and Xavi but I prefer Iniesta. GIF of that skilled where he pulled the ball over the player would be nice. If only he was a United fan and wanted to come to England.........

Agreed, when they went 2-1 up he totally bossed it but for a large part of that first half he along with most of their players he was poor.

Unrelated to the thread, but what a fecking ball by Alves for the third goal. Right on Cesc's head.
