India vs England

well, they aren't a charity, are they?

It's like that everywhere. If Sky want their own commentators on the ground with all the facilities, they need to pay up.

Agreed, but a bit strange that they've made changes in the last minute.

Anyone following the warm up game? Yuvraj's looking good, on 59 and already hit 4 sixes! Hope he stays there for a while more, was planning on taking some time off and going.

Oh dear, It's time for our yearly punishment in the sub continent. We're going to get our arses kicked unless England have suddenly learnt how to play spin on slow low wickets.

They should've included a spinner. Apart from being juvenile, it seems like a bad tactic because it allows their lot to get into good form.

Cook's got a century, Trott a 50 and Samit Patel, one of the better players of spin in there, has nailed that #6 spot.

Poor show by the selectors.

Works both ways I guess. Don't want to give them any practice against spin. Says it all that India A's top wicket taker was a part time spinner in Yuvraj.

I also fail to understand the reasoning behind a three day game. England are playing three three day games. Why not just play two five day games instead? Wouldn't being exposed to a fifth day wicket help?

So should we expect England or Australia to field an all spinner attack in the practice games next time we tour them? It's silly and petty from the BCCI, about par for the course for them.

It's just not cricket.

I don't agree with it but, playing devil's advocate here, Kohli mentioned how we're greeted by flat tracks in England/Australia for the warm up games but given completely different wickets once the series start. Isn't that similar?

Besides, Yuvraj and Raina bowled 32 overs at them today.

We got our ass whooped in the English warm-up matches even on the supposed flat decks, did Kohli forget that?

Somerset absolutely clobbered us. We were pretty shitty in the other warm-up as well.

And we hardly had green tops for the test matches. Just sour grapes, IMO. Trott, Cook murdered us on some of those pitches, frequent 400+ scores. Cook got a 294. In Australia, we played Hussey and Ponting back into form, made David Warner into a test player and let Clarke hit 325.

It's a fecking disgrace that young bowlers like Awana are only bowling 12 overs in a practice match. What sort of message does that send?

It's only a practice match, he should've gotten more overs. I don't care if he's good or not but if you're playing a young fast bowler then give him more than 12 overs.

Looks the team is going to selected this afternoon. Don't think there would be many surprises. My guess for the 15-man squad:

(1) Gambhir
(2) Rahane
(3) Pujara
(4) Sachin
(5) Sehwag
(6) Kohli
(7) Dhoni
(8) Ashwin
(9) Ojha
(10) Zaheer
(11) Yadav
(12) Ishant
(13) Harbhajan
(14) Raina
(15) Yuvraj

****

Will anyone be interested in seeing Sehwag in the middle? He has often expressed a desire to play at 4 or 5 and this might be an opportunity. Rahane looks like a good prospect and a series at home might be the right time to blood him into the team as an opener. Sehwag and Sachin can provide the experience in the middle order.

The selected squad:

MS Dhoni (capt & wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Cheteshwar Pujara, R Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Pragyan Ojha, Ajinkya Rahane, Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma, M Vijay, Zaheer Khan

Vijay for Raina is the only surprise.

feck off Vijay.

Yea. I don't hate Vijay or something, but that's a pretty undeserved selection. Puzzling, too, with Srikanth not around.

Would've prefered Mukund.

Hell, with Rahane in there, you don't need a backup opener. Should've picked Tiwary and Rahane for #6 and #1 on present form.

They've apparently said that Rahane is choosen as a middle order batsman. The retards strikes again.

I don't understand why the selectors have to be players from the fkin 80s. Why can't Dravid, Ganuly, Kumble and co be given the responsibility? Surely they would have a much better idea about the current climate and the players who are deserving.

That said, Ganguly would probably quit the very first day when asked to stop repeating 'Dinda Dinda Dinda Dinda Dinda Dinda'.

Cheating twat Trott. There's no way he didn't knew that the catch was dropped. Laughable really.

Why did Trott have to lie when it was so obvious he never caught the ball? He could have simply said I'm not sure and have the third umpire check it out.

He's a cheating twat that's why.

 at Trott.

That'll be the SA in him i reckon ;)

We\ve got feck all chance in this series if we continue not being able to catch

He's a cheating twat that's why.

I've always disliked his demeanour, and batting style. Comes across as very selfish. I change channel when he comes in to bat.

That's a beauty by Swann.

If the ball is staying low and turning like this on the first day - England will have very uncomfortable few days ahead.

I rate Yuvi as a better bowler than Samit Patel.
