I'm looking forward to this. Possibly the end of an era in India-Australia encounters. Quite a few are already gone and this could be the last series for many of the greats who've made these series memorable over the last decade.

Kumble, Dravid, Ganguly... mayble Laxman or even Tendulkar.
On that side, Ponting, Hayden and Brett Lee are most likely not going to be playing another test with India.

Lee is 31. Think he is gonna stick around for another 3-4 years.

And we really should win this.

You should but the lack of a quality spinner will cost you I think. If Clarkes Radar is off then you really will struggle.

Looking forward to it though should be a good test

There was a really good blog piece on cricinfo on India-Aussie rivalry over last few years contrasted with Eng-Aussie and Indo-Pak rivalry.

sorry mate saw you talking about Lee and assumed you were an aussie, I'll check out that cricinfo article though sounds a good read.

Fast bowler though... very few of them last that long. He has turned himself into a more line and length bowler over the last few years compared to his early raw pace years but I certainly can't see him lasting till he's 34-35.

Anyway, yes we should be the slight favourites but this is Australia we're talking about.

If Pointing continues his miserable run in India, they will be too dependant on Hayden. Hopefully our middle order won't continue their woeful from from Lanka.

This is the worst looking Aussie team I've seen tour us for as long as I can remember.

Huge missed oppurtunity if we dont win this series.

Think we edged the first day with that Clarke wicket in the end.
Got a chance to bundle them out before 350, definitely need to knock them out before 400.

If we dont, then game over. I can actually see us loosing this one if we don't bowl them out for 350 or so.

Uncharacteristic Aussie innings. Run rate of 2.87... well below what they usually manage.

On the whole, the advantage isn't firmly with either side at either side at this. If I had to bet, I would go for a draw. We are always one batting collapse away from a loss though and we've always been good at middle-order collapses.

Draw or should be if we don't do anything stupid. If Sehwag in there for long we can probably put up around 600 by the end of 4th day and have a crack at aussies again on the last day.

Lets not count our chickens here. Even though the pitch is probably a shirtfront at this stage, the Ozzies have the runs on the board and we'll be batting last.

It'll need a big innings from somebody... probably Sehwag.

Meh, I don' think Aussie have got anything in their bowling attack. As I said unless we throw it away we should atleast surpass their total.

Thats it for the day... not a bad start to our response. Sehwag and Gambhir seem to be settling in smartly as an opening pair though i'd like to see a bit more of Gambhir on non sub-continental wickets.

If we can add 350 tomorrow for 4 or so, we'll be setup nicely for the last couple of days.

ive not seen a single ball bowled yet...either cricket has turned shit or im disinterested in cricket.

either way football > cricket

Me too.

I didn't even know there was a test match on right now.Only came to know after I saw this thread right now.

And none of my friends have even talked about this.

Bah we should have gone in with one spinner and brought in RP or Munaf instead. Kumble's going to lose his spot soon if he continues like this. I would have preferred Chawla over both Bhajji and Kumble.

I think the reverse swing will bother our batsman once the ball gets a little old. We might fold up with in 100 overs. Need a big innings from someone.

So much for the demise of the Aussies. Looks like they're going to thrash India. You don't against India in India unless you're a fecking good side.

Looks like we might still hold out for a draw. It'll be difficult batting over the last 2 days though. Lets hope our spinners come good.

Aussies aren't as strong as they used to be. Shame the other nations are utter tripe. If India and SA are the next best two sides, I think we should ban cricket for life.

What's the talk about the worst aussie team to tour india?

They have all their seamers, Ponting, Hayden, Hussey and Clarke still there. Watson is given a chance because Gilchrist is now retired.

So, i don't actually think that team is weak, it is a pretty strong line tbh

Aussies will still be the best cricket team by far. As much as they've gone worse so has everybody else. Pak have already been banned from test cricket - nobody has played them all year so far!

I don't even think there are any top class bowlers about right now, well nobody that does it for me.

The game has become very stale. I would've watched this a couple of years ago, but can't quite bring myself to do so, this time around. As for Pakistan, I don't think there's been much test cricket, full stop. Anyway, we've got Stanford to look forward to. And all those cricketers that never looked remotely interested, have found their form. Harmison, anyone? lolz.
