India vs Australia - Limited over series

The way India bowl, they'll need 350 in order to win if they bowl second.

I could think of a million better things to waste 8000 dollars on than invading a cricket field.

India's bowling is just awful. It is same story after most of the ODIs though.
The worse part is, had Hazlewood and Starc both been playing, India may not have even got 310. Same can't be said of India about some bowlers missing. Whatever combination you play from Ishant/Shami/Bhuvi/Aaron/Yadav, it is equally average pace attack. Ashwin in away games is of no use anyway, whatever be the format.

Australia have won the toss and decided to bowl at the MCG. Reckon Dhoni might have fancied chasing tonight.

Good team selection today. Even if doesn't work they are at least trying something new.

Will need a big effort to even reach 300 today
290 is the highest successful run chase at the MCG. 300+ might be enough but India will need to bowl and field well. This pitch isn't the like the WACA or the Gabba and the MCG is the biggest ground in the country.

True, but I have no belief in our ability to defend a total.

Excellent, Kohli. Looks like he's creeping back into good form.

Australia aren't the certainties to win like they were in Perth and Brisbane. It's decent total, they'll have to bat well to get it. India must bowl well, field well and take wickets frequently.

I'm pretty certain Australia will win. Indians will have to bowl/field at a level much higher than what they've shown so far.

Michael Slater somewhat embarrassed himself of channel 9 today:

MICHAEL Slater has drawn the ire of Indian fans after a cringe-worthy blunder explaining Indian superstar Virat Kohli’s love life.

After spotting a sign from a spectator supporting India at the MCG, picked up by the Channel 9 cameras, Slater suggested the woman, he identified as Sonia, holding the sign was Kohli’s wife.

The only problem is Kohli has never been married.

He is also dating Bollywood star Anushka Sharma. The couple are not married and are not engaged.

Slater quickly recanted his horribly wrong statement, but it was too late for the Aussie great to avoid being lampooned all over social media.

Poor Slats.

The no. of times India's bowling lacks discipline is shocking. I mean look at the current Australia bowlers who played today. Don't see anyone going on to be mainstay for them. Yet likes of Hastings and Richardson did well bowling in right areas, bowling within themselves. And then we have Umesh Yadav, who has good pace, can bowl some cracking deliveries but is yet to learn to bowl 4-5 balls of the over in same area and bowl to field. Similar is case with others.

...and as I was typing this, he bowls a good one and gets reward. Even if current Indian bowlers bring in some discipline in their bowling, India can benefit hugely. Can't rely on batsmen scoring 320-330 to keep game in contest.

Coaching. A good coach should be able to help facilitate this.

Someone like Akram has been giving Ishant tips over the years and some time ago during commentary had a tone of disappointment and giving up on Ishant learning/implementing what is taught by him. Ya a good coach can help somewhat probably but I doubt the attitude too. Probably something to do with common trait in this side of world. We don't like discipline much, do we? :D

Marsh basically ran himself out there, showed no urgency to make his ground. Well executed by Yadav, but Marsh is culpable for that.

Maxwell will finish this. Maybe DRS would have overturned the Maxwell caught behind that was not out.

Touch and go, if these two bat for another 3/4 overs I reckon Aussies will win.

On the flip side, any wicket now and India are favs.
