chappel and dravid are gonna have some selection problems now. too many players performing. will be interesting to see who they pick between sehwag and uthappa.
It's better to have that problem that a lack of middle order player performing and no-one to replace them that is performing. But somehow have about 4 openers pushing for selection like Australia.

as long as you guys have ponting playin the way he is you have no problems. the bugger's got 31 test hundreds already:mad: too close too sachin.

He has also scored 2 hundreds in a test twice in the last this yeadrcoincidently against South Africa. His best three series in the past couple of years have been in the last 6 months imo as he murdered the West Indies attack and backed up by scoring 5 hundreds against Sotuh Africa in 6 tests.
He is a pleasure to watch at the moment so i hope he doesn't take a break. His one problem is still that he goes too hard at the ball when he first gets out to the crease. International teams haven't found out that they should put a short cover in when he first comes out.

hmmm. i'll drop dravid a mail about that.
i remember last year i was eagerly following both dravid's and ponting's stats, waiting for dravid to catch up and then ponting just sped and isn't even in sight anymore. just hope sachin hits a few big knocks when he returns to increase the gap.

mehro have you watched much of Pointing in the past? Look at how hard he pushes forward when he first gets to the crease it is so over-pronounced any all fool could see it. Captains just think that it is a good idea to put a few slips in however when he edges it likely to either go to gully or first slip.
Most teams who have employed the tatic of putting a short cover in have got him reasonably early in his innings when they keep the ball reasonably full.

When a player is in the form he is in you have to get him early or he will rip your side to pieces just the way it goes.
There is one easy way to look at the form Pointing is in as well just look at how still and over the ball his head is. If his head is still and over the ball he is on top form, if it is too far across the ball and moving he is in very bad form and if it isn't far enough across his form is average.

i get what you're saying. i never noticed that as a weakness myself. personally i always saw his shuffle across the crease as a weak spot. it seems to make him vulnerable to lbw's but every year he just gets better on his leg side shots. when he moves across and pulls the short ball - ah it's a beautiful sight.
*sorry rahul i didn't mean that. you still have the best pull shot.*

It depends on how you look at it, it is better than not moving on your crease at all but when you over-pronounce it too much is can become a weakness. I believe he has the best leg side shots in the world especially when the ball is full.

sehwag has that problem. it's frustating how someone who sees the ball so early and well has no foot movement whatsoever. and the worst part is that he refuses to work on it. says he likes to play his "natural game". it's not surprising that he's so inconsistent.

anyway, raina just cracked a huge six. 25 runs needed off 25 balls.

Too many new faces chipping in with 50's isn't really a problem as it gives you depth and the knowledge that when a player retires or injures himself then you have someone to fill the void. You did win the series 5-1 which indicates not too many problems. The batting order can be sorted out with a month or so left to the world cup anyway you won't line up with the same team for every game in the tournament.

Don't bother explaining things to Vijay. He doesn't have a functioning brain.

noone gives a shit as to who was sleeping and who wasn't. england lost the series 5-1 and that's all that matters. now don't start whining about how half your squad was missing.

We beat them with Sehwag, Kaif, Dhoni, Tendulkar, Harbhajan, Ganguly missing.

Thats some fecking achievement.

Half our squad was missing.

But more importantly, we just don't care about pyjama cricket.

i'm sorry i don't know what pyjama cricket is. i do know what ODI cricket is and it's awesome and everyone except you cares enough to enjoy it. you only seem to care enough to follow it, watch it and whine about it. don't come up with dumbass excuses man, just admit you have a weak ODI team.

Pyjama cricket = cricket played in pyjamas = One-day cricket

We do have a weak ODI team. I think the primary reason for that is that we just don't care about it. There simply isn't the intensity about it that the Test side has.

We're purists. I don't think that is a bad thing. You need to understand that we just don't give a feck. It's like gloating about the League Cup.

England have made a massive effort to orchestrate the whole way they play cricket around getting a good test team together. It's little wonder the one day team has suffered. And quite obviously it was the right thing to do.

i'm pretty sure that thats not how your cricket team feels but if they do maybe they should just stop playing. i love ODI cricket. it's awesome. and india beat england 5-1 and i'm gloating.
and if pyjama cricket = cricket played in pyjamas wouldn't that make
test cricket = white pyjama cricket
ODI cricket = colored pyjama cricket?

i just feel that you'd all act differently if you won the world cup or won a major ODI tournament.

It wouldn't make any difference.

And there aren't any major tournaments other than the World Cup. Players get rested for the Champions Trophy.

They'l never win the World Cup. Bangla will win it before them. Yet some weirdos here claim England are of some significance in the world of cricket.

Yep and just because they finally won a series against Australia for the first time in 20 years. I mean they are the number 7 one day side in the world and that is the form of cricket the world cup is played in.

it's bigger than the ashes.

Not to the English or Australians, the two powerhouses of world cricket. I'm sure it is to you lot, seeing as you're not in the Ashes.

Sensible people don't give a feck about ODIs. It's mickey mouse cricket.

never mind slabber. i'd rather not argue over this with you. we both obviosuly have very different opinions on the matter. saying that sensible people don't give a feck about ODIs is absurd. everyone but the english enjoy ODIs. you're in the extremely small minority.

ask heffa. he's an aussie.
