Milik - value £40m + £10m because its the EPL + £10m because we're desperate + £10m because he's about to renew + £10m because they'll be in the last 16 in CL
Dani Olmo - value £30m + £10m because its the EPL + £10m because we're desperate + £10m because he's young + £10m because he's on form
Emre Can - value £30m + £10m because its the EPL + £10m because we're desperate + £10m because it's Juve and they're bastards
I honestly think you're asking for £200m in players there mate...in January...whilst we're midtable.
You're setting yourself up for a miserable end of Jan if you think thats remotely possible.
I think this obsession we've got about clubs trying to screw us on money is pure paranoia. Sure, clubs tend to try and make as much money as possible out of their players. Since there aren't many suckers in football when a sucker does appear then word tend to spread like wildfire. In fact that's why well run clubs tend to employ shrewd negotiators who knows their way in football.
Having said that well run clubs also know when they are an inch away from getting screwed. Therefore if you think that they will allow themselves to get screwed just to spite Manchester United then you're wrong. Now lets take the names I've mentioned shall we?
Milik is a goal machine. Unfortunately for Napoli he picked an injury right before contract renewal negotiations started which means everything was postponed until Milik could get back to his own feet. This dragged on and on that at one point Napoli was considering cutting their losses. It turned out that Milik did return to his best just 1 year before his contract ended. Now one might think that Napoli were unlucky here and that this issue will be sorted by them throwing money at him to sign that new contract. Well, things got slightly complicated lately. De Laurentiis (controversial fellow, a bit loony and a dictator at times) had just bit more then he could chew by ordering Napoli squad to go for a ritiro (aka punishment) even though the manager himself thought that it was way overkill as they didn't deserve such treatment. Well the squad had basically rebelled against it and De Laurentiis own son nearly ended up in a fight with the players because of it. De Laurentiis being De Laurentiis decided to double down by sending a juridical letter to the players while concurrently trying to push Ancelotti out. So you see. Players like Milik who are at the end of their contract will probably not sign a new contract now. If United came to the negotiation table then the guy would be very wise to negotiate unless of course De Laurentiis want to risk seeing Milik joining his much hated Juventus. Same can be said about Callejon, Mertens and Allan (the latter is the guy who nearly fought with the owner's son). Ole would love Allan. He's a hardworking defensive midfielder with decent technique
Emre Can's case is in similar lines. An Allegri pupil, Sarri wanted him out without barely having a glimpse at him. Turned out that someone at Juventus didn't agree with that assessment and he persuaded Emre Can to stay with Juve promising him a decent shot in exchange. The Turk went on refusing PSG to stay with Juventus because of it. Well, Sarri couldn't be moved and he basically froze Can out. Emre went public and Juventus seem to have promised him to have him shipped out as soon as possible as long as he shuts his gob. Clubs like Juve hates airing their dirty laundry especially when they cocked up. He will leave on reasonable fees
Olmo might be slightly more difficult. However we're talking about signing a player from Dinamo Zagreb here not Real Madrid. The guy is already pissed off that his club didn't allowed him to leave in Summer and according to rumours, Dinamo had promised to let him go as long as 40m euros are paid to them.
You see, not every transfer is meant to be difficult and opportunities will arise. The big question is whether our little Ole knows that Milik and Olmo even exist.
