If United had played to their fullest potential this season, what should we have achieved?

I think, in hindsight of course, the lack of work-rate and intensity among the attacking group was always going to cause too many problems. There is talent but just not enough of the right physical qualities to get the most out of it. The attacking play would have had to be excellent to overcome how easy this group is to play against. Started the season trying to play Sancho, Ronnie and Greenwood with Pogba behind, very little pressing out of that lot.

Probably 4th.

People get carried away with 2nd last year, it was a net 4th place behind City Pool and Chelsea. It was obvious to me when Pool got the defence back from injury they would be back to where they were. After Tuchel took over they were one of the form teams for half of last season and half of this but have tailed off a bit. Our team is definitely capable of getting ~70 points again this season but Ralf hasn't been able to bond well and gain respect with the players which is what I feared.

We also have to take into account Cavani who helped out a lot in the second half of last season is effectively not here, Greenwood no longer here, Martial overall one of our more productive attackers over the years despite being underwhelming was sent out on loan. Yes he hasn't done much but he did help out in a goal before leaving and we need any help we can get to scrape by. I'm sure under Carrick he'd be here and got us 3-4 points more. After Ronaldo there's been no-one else to get the ball over the line so perhaps with all that said 5th-6th is the most. The squad took some major hits half way through.

We would have been easily 4th place, maybe 3rd. Hard to say with cups as they are a lottery. We didnt win regularly when we were under Fergie.

4th should of easily been nailed on. We should of also progressed deep into some of the competitions, we had by far some of the easiest draws but we blew them.

I'd say 4th if Ole and players would of been at their absolute best. Even 3rd with a better manager and our players at their peak.
City/Pool managers are the best in the world. Chelsea/Spurs have much better managers than Ole/Ralf. Arsenal/Leicester just a little better.
In terms of squads City/Pool are in a different galaxy, Chelsea I would say it's a little better than ours. Our squad is better than Spurs/Arsenal but our manager choices and players form/weaknesses dragged us where we are now.
If we hired a better manager instead of Ralf we would of finished top 4 surely.
