If Real Madrid offered us Benzema.......

Who writes this stuff? Unless he's offered in a cut price deal then there is no chance.

What lazy journalism! £30m for Benzema after the form he has been in in the last 2 seasons? No chance. Try £15m-£20m

Not a chance

Benzema hasn't exactly set the World alight at Los Blancos

More likely to be at the expense of both Berba and Owen

I meant as a regular starter rather than a place in the squad. Benzema's regularly complained about being on the bench so I don't think he'd come here without assurances, Rooney's not getting dropped at any point...that leaves Hernandez on the bench.

:eek::eek:

Wow, wasn't expect this that to be the question!!!

In answer to the question, :wenger::wenger:, I think it is a bit of a ridiculous question. Vidic has been so good this season, we would essentially be getting rid of our best and most consistent player. The one player who can, on the whole, be relied upon week in, week out to put in the required performance and lead the team.

I am a fan of Benzema but do not think that it would be a good swap for us to get rid of vidic and get a striker in who is still currently at the 'potential' stage of his career.

The thread's a year old... just checking you're aware of that.

Only if a Benzema can fight off Hernandez's challenge for a starting place. The way even Berba failed to do.

Yes but Benzema hardly seems like he'd be content fighting for a place up against someone like Hernandez given how difficult he's found doing the same at Madrid. If he's intent on proving he can fight off strong competition for his place you'd think he'd stay at Madrid.

Could see him at Milan in a couple of years.

Hernandez: 7m
Benzema: 35m

Value.

Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Owen, Macheda, Welbeck, Diouf, King.......
Right now, buying forwards are not on my agenda. I would politely tell them; no thanks ATM!

:wenger:

Where are you getting that from!?

(No chance, obviously!)

If you can't play three at the same time and Benzema doesn't like sitting on the bench then it's hard to see what other alternative there is in that scenario...

TBH I'm yet to see him show discontent at Real. So I dont think they idea that he finds competition a problem has weight in it. My point was simply that people are all to wiling to assume he'd consign Hernandez to the bench. I'm not convinced its a given.

I personally don't see him leaving Real any time soon. To me he seems happy and he has just been getting better and more confident. That battle between him and Higuain next season for a starting spot will be so interesting.

He'd be a great signing for them. Can't see them spunking that much cash though.
