No. I'd want 25m + Benzema for Vidic. Not a straight swap.

Vidic has been one of the top (if not the top) defender in the world for 3 seasons. What has Benzema done? You see how the defence is vulnerable without him, what makes you think it would be smart to exchange him for Benzema?
Yeah it's pretty simple, if Vidic wants out then getting Benzema's one of the better ways of compensating for that, if he's happy to stay it'd be stupid to get rid.

No. Vidic is one of the best CB's in the world. And proven in the Premiership. Benzema has potential, but may never reach it. Vidic on the other hand has shown his quality. Vidic everyday for me.
But why would you talk about how much we would get for Vidic. he is a proven performer and continues to do so. It would be ungratefulness from our part if we did an exchange.

Just said exactly the same in another thread, he looked overwieght tonight for me to, obviously has been out injured a while and piled on a few excess pounds in that time.....
As for the article, unless Vidic was down on his knees begging to go then not a chance, why would anyone wish to swap one of the very best centre halfs in world football for someone whos proven nothing outside of the french league? clearly talented and potentially very good but as it stands youd be swapping one of the worlds best players in his position for, well, not a world class player in his position....Madrid would be laughing if such a deal every took place.
Why would we swap one of the most important players we have, who still has plenty of years left, for a player who might have some potential but isn't delivering at the moment?

I have a feeling this is one transfer that will never happen. That ship has sailed, and I'd rather we develop Hernandez. Besides, as others have mentioned, our priority should be a goalkeeper and a midfielder, and I'd rather we splash our money there.

it was when all those rumours about vidic wanting out (or at least his wife wanting out) were rife, thankfully vidic quashed it all by signing a new contract.
If there's an area taht we probably wont improve,its the striker's. We have Rooney and Hernandez, Berbatov most likely stays, Owen probably leaves, plus Welbeck, Macheda and Diouf are coming back and we will keep one (Welbeck?). So we have our 4 strikers
